Shinsei helped repel Obito, returned to Konoha, and developed Palm Thunder while training others and protecting Gaara. The arc ended with Shinsei and Jiraiya taking Yahiko toward the Land of Rain, unaware of who was watching their departure.

• Shinsei and the allied fighters battled Obito, discovered how his space-time ability worked, and watched him escape after he returned with his Rinnegan and Sharingan intact.
• Shinsei accompanied Ōnoki to investigate the missing Four-Tails and Five-Tails Jinchūriki, then learned Akatsuki demanded his death in exchange for their lives.

Back in Konoha, the former Hokage prepared to return to death while Shinsei joined research into extending ordinary people’s lives and considered how to grow strong enough to face Madara.

• Shinsei, Jiraiya, and Yahiko reached Amegakure, where Nagato and Konan recognized Yahiko from Shinsei’s photograph and welcomed the group.
• Obito Uchiha and Kabuto Yakushi attacked Shinsei with three sages and reincarnated Kage, so Shinsei summoned Hashirama Senju, Tobirama Senju, and Minato Namikaze to fight alongside him.
• Madara Uchiha emerged and fought Hashirama Senju, while Black Zetsu took control of Nagato and forced him to revive Madara.
• Shinsei persuaded Madara to hear his revised Eye of the Moon Plan, and they agreed to meet in five years without starting a war or killing any Jinchūriki.
• Shinsei revived Nagato, who rejected Madara’s plan and agreed to join Shinsei, while Jiraiya brought the former Hokage back to Konoha.
• Tsunade decided that Minato Namikaze, Tobirama Senju, and Hashirama Senju would be sealed again on a schedule because their souls were dissipating.

Shinsei split the Nine-Tails, exposed Danzo’s treachery, and developed new powers while Naruto and Sasuke trained to face Madara. Sasuke finally confronted Uchiha Itachi and defeated him, but Itachi died after trapping Sasuke in Tsukuyomi.

• Shinsei split the Nine-Tails, sealed one half into Naruto, and kept the other as a small, furry companion.
• Shinjō showed Tsunade evidence of Danzo’s crimes, and Tsunade’s group uncovered Root’s abuses, freed its captives, and declared Danzo an S-rank missing-nin.
• Shinsei helped Orochimaru awaken Dragon Princess, a chakra-powered biocomputer, and developed a natural-energy Cursed Seal that Sasuke later used to gain strength.
• Naruto and Sasuke fought with their new abilities until Shinsei stopped them, then Madara and Obito confronted the group and Madara demanded Shinsei’s help in the Land of Rain.
• Shinsei began learning the Light-Weight Rock Technique and accompanied Sasuke to find Uchiha Itachi, while Kisame stayed behind to fight him.
• Sasuke and Itachi battled with Mangekyō Sharingan and Susanoo, and Sasuke used his Cursed Seal to overpower and shatter Itachi’s Susanoo.

Shinsei trained with the Nine-Tails, brought Naruto and Sasuke closer to their new powers, and helped Uchiha clansmen relocate to Konoha. As he developed a plan to protect the shinobi world from the Infinite Tsukuyomi, the White Snake Sage cultivated Dragon Vein energy and the Eight-Tails went missing.

• Shinsei investigated Rōran and learned that the White Snake Sage could cultivate a remnant of Dragon Vein energy into a means of reaching another Shinobi World.
• Shinsei studied the Nara Clan's Yin Release techniques, taught Shikamaru the Visualization Method, and received a scroll on Yin-Yang Release from Shikaku.
• Shinsei forced the Nine-Tails to share his chakra, mastered its golden chakra tails, and showed Naruto how to use Nine-Tails Chakra Mode.
• Naruto gained Kurama's chakra, and Minato tested Naruto and Sasuke's new abilities before Shinsei agreed to help Sasuke bring Uchiha from another world to Konoha.
