Ch. 626Do not pluck the flower

Bai Mo let Kama’s arrow of love strike him without resistance, fulfilling their agreement, but stopped her from attacking Ritsuka Fujimaru. He rejected Kama’s indiscriminate love as self-torment and urged her to let herself hate him.

  • Parvati warned Bai Mo not to break his promise to Kama, and Bai Mo asked Kama how many people she had killed.
  • Bai Mo let Kama’s arrow hit him, then used Beginning and End to stop her as she rushed toward Ritsuka Fujimaru.

  • Bai Mo challenged Kama’s claim that loving everyone made people happy and said her love was misguided.
  • Bai Mo told Kama she had the right to hate him and urged her to stop forcing herself to love everyone.

Ch. 627Burned out

Bai Mo’s attack brought Kama’s buried emotions to the surface, but Ritsuka and Parvati struck her with a Shiva-powered weapon before he could persuade her to leave. After the battle, the group began recovering the people trapped in the Ooku, while Kasuga-no-Tsubone questioned the cost of the weapons and reflected on her hopes for the Tokugawa.

  • Bai Mo’s Orca Tyrant Fist struck Kama, and the petals made her feel the pain and rejection of those she had hurt; she stopped resisting and let herself be sent flying.
  • Ritsuka and Parvati attacked Kama with the Shiva-powered Fat Man, and the explosion blasted her into the sky despite Bai Mo’s belief that she might have been ready to leave peacefully.
  • Ritsuka realized Bai Mo had not been brainwashed, and Parvati said she would apologize to Kama when they met again.
  • Bai Mo told the group to retrieve the people trapped in the Ooku and asked Kasuga-no-Tsubone to locate them.
  • Kasuga-no-Tsubone asked whether Japan had suffered attacks from weapons like Fat Man and Little Boy, and Ritsuka asked everyone to keep the truth secret.
  • Bai Mo warned Kasuga-no-Tsubone against trying to save the Ooku through another wish, and she reflected on her responsibility for the Tokugawa shoguns and resolved not to become obsessed again.

Ch. 628Good night

Bai Mo and Ritsuka rescued Hinako, Kadoc, Ophelia, and Sigurd from the Tokugawa Kaiten Labyrinth, completing Chaldea’s mission. Before leaving, Bai Mo offered Kasuga-no-Tsubone a chance at a new life, but she chose to die peacefully; he used the Asura Way to ease her final hours, and she passed away beneath the moon.

  • Ritsuka and Bai Mo found Hinako Akuta on the fifth floor, and Bai Mo used hanafuda cards and liquor to help her recover from Tokugawafication.
  • Ritsuka comforted Hinako, who apologized for needing rescue and promised to help next time, while secretly celebrating how well her plan had worked.

  • Bai Mo offered Kasuga-no-Tsubone a new life outside the Ooku, but she declined and gave him tea leaves, saying she was ready to rest.
  • On the night of October 26, 1643, Bai Mo strengthened Kasuga-no-Tsubone with the Asura Way; she spent time with the people she loved, gazed at the moon, and died peacefully in her sleep.

Ch. 629Harmless

After Kama retreated into her inner universe, Kiara Sessyoin revealed that Indra’s Net Jewel had let Bai Mo find her and changed Kama so she could potentially be summoned as a Servant. Back at Chaldea, the survivors learned that Kama had caused no deaths but had made food in the Ooku extraordinarily caloric, while Parvati worried that Kama and Mara appearing together signaled trouble for the Indian pantheon.

  • Kiara Sessyoin caught Kama in her inner universe and explained that Shiva’s flames had given her the same formless nature.
  • Kiara Sessyoin showed Kama Indra’s Net Jewel and explained that it had allowed Bai Mo to find her.
  • Kiara Sessyoin altered Kama so she could potentially be summoned as a Servant, and Kama decided to handle it herself.
  • Da Vinci reported that the Beast incident had caused no casualties and revealed that Ooku food had contained twenty thousand kilocalories per strip of bacon.
  • Bai Mo refused to use his power to remove the survivors’ weight gain and told Ritsuka to train with Kadoc and Leonidas.
  • Parvati told Dr. Roman she feared Kama and Mara appearing together meant something had affected the Indian pantheon.

Ch. 630The banquet

Bai Mo attended a make-up banquet at Chaldea, where he caught up with Anastasia and Rin and mingled with the others. As the celebration continued, Atalanta got drunk and clung to him, while a monitor showed a red arc expanding from the India Lostbelt across Asia and Africa toward the Atlantic.

  • Ritsuka brought Bai Mo to Chaldea’s banquet, where Anastasia told him that Russia’s land reclamation, farming, and trade with Great Qin were thriving.

  • Bai Mo encouraged Rin and promised to reunite her with her family after the crisis, and she asked him to help her confront her father.
  • Anastasia and Circe competed for Bai Mo’s attention and suggested a dance, while Atalanta got drunk and clung to him.
  • As Bai Mo took Atalanta away, a monitor showed the India Lostbelt’s red light spreading across Asia and Africa toward the Atlantic Ocean.

Ch. 631Tenju

Bai Mo and Chaldea learned that the India Lostbelt contained an immensely powerful being and was repeatedly refreshing, so they decided to travel there and gather materials for Tenju. The weapon could inflict a target’s predetermined death but consumed the user’s power of fate, and Bai Mo forbade anyone else from using it until the cost was addressed.

  • After Sigurd and Brynhildr danced at Anastasia’s ball, Da Vinci and Sion summoned Bai Mo and Ritsuka to the control room.
  • Da Vinci reported that the India Lostbelt was refreshing and that an exceptionally powerful being’s energy could be sensed through the storm wall.
  • Sion presented Tenju, a replica Atlas Institute superweapon that could destroy a target by compiling its predetermined end, but required rare materials from the India Lostbelt and consumed the user’s power of fate.
  • Ritsuka offered to use Tenju, but Bai Mo forbade everyone except himself from firing it until they solved the cost problem.
  • Bai Mo and Ritsuka prepared to visit the India Lostbelt, and Da Vinci told them to rest and prepare properly first.
  • Bai Mo returned to Shiki’s home, where he, Shiki, and Chiyome cooked dinner together.

Ch. 632Unlocking

  • Bai Mo struggled to undo the Ryougi Heaven-Imprisoning Enkidu until Shiki guided his power with her mysterious energy and helped him disable it.
  • Shiki fell asleep against Bai Mo and made him carry her through an unusually long corridor back to her room.
  • Bai Wunan gave Bai Mo Qin Hong’s share of power, discussed the limits of his technique and Ultimate Power, and reminded him that the people brought back from history might be relying on him.
  • Bai Mo met Ritsuka and Karna at Chaldea, where Ritsuka explained that Senpai Akuta, Rama, and Parvati would join the Indian Lostbelt Imaginary Number Dive.
  • The group headed toward the Shadow Border, and Bai Mo found that Karna’s tea suited his tastes better than Bai Wunan’s coffee.

Ch. 633Never heard of them

Chaldea reached the Indian Lostbelt and found a lifeless, drought-stricken land that even Rama did not recognize. After Bai Mo helped a village and learned its people knew nothing of Rama or Karna, the group realized the Lostbelt’s history and gods might be drastically different.

  • Ritsuka led the Shadow Border toward a village beside a leyline after Bai Mo detected it southeast of their landing point.
  • Bai Mo and Rama discussed the worsening landscape, and Rama explained India’s yuga cycles while Karna said his era had never been this desolate.
  • Ritsuka and Bai Mo approached the village, where Bai Mo restored greenery and water, prompting the chief to agree to answer their questions.
  • Bai Mo healed several villagers, a malnourished girl, and her injured dog, and the girl called him a god.
  • Rama asked the girl whether she knew him or Karna, but she said she had never heard their names.

Ch. 634Kali Yuga

Bai Mo and Ritsuka’s group encountered the Kali Yuga’s deceptive villagers and discovered that the Kali beasts possessed a strange power resembling Magnetic Field Power. As Bai Mo prepared to summon Kama, a powerful Arjuna appeared above them in Vimana, seemingly carrying the powers of India’s gods within him.

  • Bai Mo killed several Kali beasts, captured one for Sherlock Holmes to examine, and noticed that the creatures could produce a force similar to Magnetic Field Power.
  • The village chief told Ritsuka’s group to leave, but Bai Mo exposed his lie and his wish to use them as protection against the Kali.
  • Kadoc reported that the villagers had no god statues, while Parvati asked Bai Mo to summon without a Holy Relic so Kama might answer.
  • Bai Mo began the summoning, but an immense force interrupted it as Arjuna arrived above them in Vimana, surrounded by powerful orbs and bearing the Flames of Shiva.

Ch. 635The Last God

Bai Mo and the others faced Arjuna, now the last god of the India Lostbelt, and Ritsuka’s memories failed to reach him. As the Shadow Border prepared to escape, Bai Mo confronted Arjuna’s devastating attack, while the abandoned summoning circle unexpectedly began working.

  • Bai Mo recognized how Arjuna could have gathered the power of India’s deities, but warned everyone that the approaching god was dangerous.
  • Ritsuka sent Arjuna memories of their time together, but Arjuna dismissed them as trivial and focused on Parvati.
  • Bai Mo carried Ritsuka to the Shadow Border, where Karna explained that he held back from fighting Arjuna to protect his Master.
  • Bai Mo stayed behind to buy time for the Shadow Border’s Imaginary Number Dive, and his fist met Arjuna’s Maha Pralaya in a clash that swallowed the world in light.
  • The interrupted summoning circle began operating on its own, and a graceful figure appeared.

Ch. 636Maha Pralaya

After Maha Pralaya cast Bai Mo into a world of nothingness, Kama brought him to India in 3138 BC, where Shiki explained that the world’s time had stopped and Arjuna’s weapon had sent him there for a second trial. The chapter left Bai Mo facing the end of the Dvapara Yuga and the events of the Mahabharata.

  • Bai Mo escaped the void by following a faint pull and found himself above a lush, ancient India beside Kama.
  • Kama explained that she had reached him through her nature as The Formless One, and Bai Mo thanked her for helping him.
  • Kama revealed that they were in India in 3138 BC and that returning to the present could take thousands of years.
  • Shiki contacted Bai Mo, explained that he had been sent more than thirty thousand years into the past, and said time had stopped in the space connected to him.
  • Shiki explained that Maha Pralaya could not judge Bai Mo, so it banished him to Arjuna’s era for a second appeal trial.
  • Kama welcomed Bai Mo to the end of the Dvapara Yuga and identified the era as the Mahabharata.

Ch. 637Asura

Bai Mo and Kama traveled through the Mahabharata era’s forest, seeking Vishnu for a way to stop Arjuna from making Ritsuka’s group’s erasure permanent. They encountered a Kalakeya Asura, and Bai Mo left the warrior blinded by a lightning-fast strike.

  • Bai Mo rejected Kama’s suggestion to hide in the forest and decided to seek Vishnu, whose incarnation was living among mortals.
  • Bai Mo and Kama set out for the city, and Kama changed into an elegant Indian dress but admitted she had never navigated the forest on foot.
  • Bai Mo realized they were being led in circles, seized Kama’s wrist, and challenged whoever was obstructing their path.
  • A Kalakeya Asura appeared, mocked Kama as a weak god of love, and boasted of killing Brahmins.
  • Bai Mo attacked the Asura before he could finish boasting, slicing his eyeballs into pieces and terrifying him.

Ch. 638Rakshasa

Bai Mo defeated an Asura who had attacked him with grafted Magnetic Field Power, then encountered the Rakshasas who had followed the Asura. The Rakshasas invited Bai Mo to marry their dead king’s daughter, but he rejected their custom and their request.

  • The blinded Asura attacked Bai Mo with a saber and grafted Magnetic Field Power, but Bai Mo crushed his skull and threw him aside.
  • Kama burned the Asura, who mistook her for Shiva as he died, and Bai Mo teased Kama about the gods’ weakness.
  • A group of Rakshasas arrived and asked whether Kama had killed their King Rakshanda; Bai Mo said he had stopped the Asura from fighting and asked whether the Rakshasas ate people.
  • The Rakshasas said King Rakshanda had made them eat wild fruit, then invited Bai Mo to their tribe to marry Rakshanda’s daughter.
  • Bai Mo refused the marriage, while Kama laughed and the Rakshasa leader pleaded for a powerful king and his descendants.

Ch. 639Krishna

Bai Mo resolved the immediate conflict with the Rakshasas by giving them fruit trees and telling them to stop eating humans, but some pursued him and tried to recruit him as their king. Outside the forest, he met Krishna near Ekachakra and began to consider what the location meant for the Mahabharata’s timeline.

  • Kama persuaded Bai Mo to let the Rakshasas live, and Bai Mo made the forest’s fruit trees grow while ordering the tribe to stop eating humans and choose a respected king.
  • After Bai Mo and Kama left, some Rakshasas argued against his orders, while others followed him out of the forest.
  • Krishna arrived in a golden carriage, introduced himself to Bai Mo, and explained that he had come after seeing a golden star fall near Ekachakra.
  • The Rakshasas caught up with Bai Mo, and their leader urged him to become their king while warning him against the gods and praising their women.
  • Bai Mo wondered whether Krishna’s presence near Ekachakra meant the Mahabharata had not yet begun, while the Rakshasa leader argued that tradition required the tribe to have a king.

Ch. 640Self-negation

Krishna helped Bai Mo persuade the rakshasas to abandon plundering and accept farming, while Bai Mo warned Hidimba about the humans they might prey upon. At Ekachakra, Krishna agreed to help Bai Mo confront Arjuna and proposed that Arjuna could be defeated by seeing better ways to guide humanity toward goodness.

  • Krishna argued that the rakshasas no longer needed a powerful warrior king because they could obtain food through farming, and Bai Mo promised to teach them agriculture and animal husbandry.
  • Bai Mo asked about Hidimba, told the rakshasas that Vrikodara would bring them a valiant king, and warned them to stop eating humans.
  • Krishna frightened the rakshasas into fleeing by warning that Kama might curse them.
  • At Ekachakra, Bai Mo told Krishna about the future India Lostbelt and Arjuna, and Krishna agreed to help.
  • Krishna explained that Arjuna might have escaped time and warned that waiting or confronting him directly could fail.
  • Krishna proposed that Arjuna could be negated by witnessing better ways to guide people toward goodness and abandoning his extreme approach.

Ch. 641Rama with the Axe

Krishna gave Bai Mo the sixth gemstone and confirmed that the Pandavas and the Hundred Sons of Dhritarashtra were studying under Drona. Bai Mo went with Kama to the Vindhya Mountains to meet Rama with the Axe, where a confrontation ended with Bai Mo pursuing the old warrior and Kama disappearing.

  • Krishna handed Bai Mo an azure gemstone and said he would take care of Arjuna and the Pandavas when he was free.
  • Bai Mo decided to visit Rama with the Axe in the Vindhya Mountains rather than become the Pandavas' teacher.
  • Rama with the Axe mistook Kama for a threat to Bai Mo's asceticism and attacked them, but Bai Mo blocked his axe with Beginning and End.
  • Rama with the Axe demanded that Bai Mo prove he had not been bewitched, and Kama angrily raised her bow.
  • Bai Mo sent Rama with the Axe flying with Limitless Tremor Zen, told Kama to wait, and vanished after him; Kama also disappeared when she sensed someone approaching.

Ch. 642A rebellious youth

Bai Mo defeated Rama with the Axe in their contest and asked whether Drona had been his last disciple. Karna emerged from hiding, and Bai Mo recognized him as the abandoned eldest brother of the Pandavas and resolved to keep him from becoming their enemy.

  • Bai Mo and Rama with the Axe fought with bows, arrows, axes, and Bai Mo's Hell War Armor until Rama with the Axe conceded defeat.
  • Bai Mo asked Rama with the Axe who his last disciple had been, and Rama with the Axe named Drona.
  • Bai Mo called the young man hiding in the bushes out and recognized him as Karna.
  • The chapter explained how Kunti had abandoned Karna and how Drona had rejected him because of his charioteer upbringing.
  • Karna hoped to learn from Rama with the Axe and coveted Bai Mo's offensive armor technique, while Bai Mo stepped aside and considered preventing Karna from becoming an enemy of the Pandavas.

Ch. 643Taking a Disciple

Karna sought instruction from Rama with the Axe, but Bai Mo revealed that Karna was a charioteer's son before he could lie about being a Brahmin. Bai Mo offered to teach Karna in exchange for future help, and Rama with the Axe urged Karna to accept him as his master.

  • Karna greeted Rama with the Axe and claimed he opposed the Kshatriyas, hoping to become his disciple.
  • Rama with the Axe offered to teach Karna all his supreme arts, but said he could accept only Brahmins.
  • Bai Mo recognized Karna from Hastinapura, prompting Karna to confess that he was a charioteer's son who had lied to seek instruction.
  • Bai Mo warned Karna that skills gained through lies would fail him and offered to teach him in return for help with future tasks.
  • Rama with the Axe insisted that Bai Mo should be respected as Karna's master and encouraged Karna to accept the offer.
  • Karna prostrated himself before Bai Mo, and Rama with the Axe predicted that he would become a valuable ally.

Ch. 644Passing on the Art

Bai Mo began training Karna with punishing exercises and the Bodhidharma Sutra while Rama with the Axe imposed his own restrictions. At Drona’s teaching grounds, Arjuna hunted a boar for Bhima, then resisted a dark figure urging him to kill the hundred sons of Dhritarashtra.

  • Kama urged Bai Mo to accept Karna despite the dangers, and Bai Mo gave Karna the Bodhidharma Sutra as his first lesson.
  • Bai Mo put Karna through exhausting water and saber training, healing his injuries so he could continue.

  • A dark figure urged Arjuna to kill the hundred sons of Dhritarashtra, but Arjuna rejected the idea.

Ch. 645Kshatriya

Karna endured Bai Mo’s punishing sea-based training and completed its second stage, then continued despite being thrown into the water. Bai Mo told Rama with the Axe that Karna was legally a Kshatriya, and Rama offered to teach him archery; he ended by questioning whether his vision could be achieved through weapons.

  • Karna completed the second stage of Bai Mo’s training by enduring attacks formed from seawater, then began facing a rhinoceros made with six hundred thousand horsepower.
  • After Bai Mo brought Karna back to shore, Karna refused to rest and returned to the sea to continue training.
  • Bai Mo told Rama with the Axe that Karna was legally a Kshatriya, and explained that Kunti had abandoned him.
  • Rama with the Axe criticized Kunti’s abandonment and offered to teach Karna archery without breaking his oath.
  • Rama with the Axe reflected that despite killing countless Kshatriyas, he had not changed who ruled the world, and wondered whether his vision could be achieved with weapons.

Ch. 646An apology

Bai Mo traded skills with Rama with the Axe and warned Karna that pretending to be a Brahmin disciple could have made Rama break a sacred vow and suffer grave consequences. Karna went to apologize, while Bai Mo prepared for his departure and planned a graduation exam for Karna.

  • Bai Mo and Rama with the Axe exchanged teachings, and Bai Mo quickly mastered Rama’s archery before demonstrating it with arrows that became suns.
  • Bai Mo gave Karna a rune-engraved bow, then explained that Karna’s attempt to deceive Rama with the Axe could have violated Rama’s vow and brought curses and lost blessings.
  • Bai Mo told Karna that Rama with the Axe had vowed to kill every Kshatriya after a Kshatriya king, who was his student, killed his father.
  • Bai Mo urged Karna to remember the danger of acting without understanding the consequences and to apologize to Rama with the Axe.
  • Kama appeared in a childlike form and relaxed beside Bai Mo, who said the Pandavas and the Hundred Sons of Dhritarashtra were nearly finished with their studies and that he would prepare Karna’s graduation exam.

Ch. 647Facing Fear

Bai Mo decided Karna needed to face a life-threatening opponent to overcome his fear and grow stronger, so Rama with the Axe confronted him in the mountains. The chapter ended with Karna learning that his mentor believed him to be a Kshatriya and preparing to face Rama with the Axe’s deadly assault.

  • Karna completed his training in the Hell War Armor and archery while Bai Mo and Rama with the Axe watched.
  • Krishna told Bai Mo that the Pandavas and the Hundred Sons of Dhritarashtra would return to Hastinapura the next day, then suggested Rama with the Axe as a suitable opponent for Karna.
  • Bai Mo asked Karna why he wanted power, and Karna said he wanted to keep improving himself.
  • Bai Mo sent Karna into the mountains for a final examination against Rama with the Axe, who instead accused him of being a Kshatriya and attacked.
  • Rama with the Axe struck Karna through a mountain with his axe, then returned his bow and ordered him to fight.

Ch. 648His Identity Revealed

Karna endured Rama with the Axe’s deadly trial and gradually drew on Bai Mo’s training to fight back, eventually earning Rama with the Axe’s approval. Surya appeared and revealed that Karna was his son, leaving Karna stunned by the proof in their matching golden armor.

  • Rama with the Axe attacked Karna, believing him to be a Kshatriya, and Karna struggled to defend himself.
  • When Rama with the Axe began summoning Brahma’s Noble Phantasm, Karna fought back with greater focus and used Bai Mo’s techniques in close combat.
