Han Zhiqi was rescued and nursed back to health at the Butterfly Mansion after a traumatic past. For two days, he sat without food or water, staring at the courtyard gate; the sight of a pendant belonging to his sister finally stirred a reaction from him. On the third day, he asked about demons and the Demon Slayer Corps, declaring that he wished to meet the Stone Hashira. 3

His sister, Meiyin, was separated from him amid their tragic upbringing. Han Zhiqi's search for her became his central motivation, though he later learned that Igu Qigan—who had once shown mercy to both siblings—had escaped and returned as a demon. 14 105

Shinobu Kocho escorted him from the Butterfly Mansion to White Dragon Mountain, where he trained under Aoyanagi Hyōbei and Lang Beiwei. After surviving a demon encounter and recovering from demon toxins, he underwent rigorous preparation for the Demon Slayer Corps selection. 9 14 16
