Background / History
Tamayo was once among Muzan Kibutsuji's earliest servants. Four hundred years before the main events, a powerful swordsman critically wounded Muzan; Tamayo used his weakened state to break free of his control and escape. She thereafter spent centuries in hiding, seeking a means to kill Muzan. 71
She and Yushiro covertly collected demon blood samples while posing at a hot spring inn. Their work brought them into contact with Han Zhiqi and Nohime, after Han detected them despite their stealth. Tamayo explained that her objective was a medicine capable of inhibiting demon-cell regeneration, and accepted Han's offer to provide demon blood in exchange for information and the possibility of restoring demons to humanity. 66 70 72
In Tokyo, Tamayo received Hyōshi Yū, a pregnant demon and Lower Rank Two of the Twelve Kizuki. She offered medical counsel, learned of Yū's connection to Han Zhiqi, collected her blood sample, and accepted an enchanted bell intended to alert her if Yū's life was threatened. 131 133
Tamayo later disappeared while making a medical house call in the Flower District. She had been captured by the cloth-strip demons serving Warabihime, Upper Rank Six, and was rescued through Han Zhiqi and Yushiro's efforts. She subsequently aided Nohime against Warabihime, enduring severe mutilation and regenerating repeatedly during the battle. 167 171 174 175 177 179
After meeting Mitsuri Kanroji, Tamayo agreed to a confidential collaboration with the Demon Slayer Corps. She supplied inhibitors and intelligence on Muzan, including the Infinity Castle's existence and Nakime's role in manipulating it. 195 227
Tamayo treated the critically poisoned Han Zhiqi at the Ubuyashiki Estate, saving his life. However, she determined that the condition of his lungs left him unable to use breathing techniques. 238
Before the decisive battle, she continued supporting the anti-Muzan alliance, warning of a possible threat within the Ubuyashiki family and relaying intelligence that Muzan would likely seek the Blue Spider Lily. 246 Tamayo died by the aftermath of Muzan's defeat; Yushiro later returned to her villa to sort through her belongings and preserve her research. 288 290
