Her sale was especially dangerous because Witches are protected by the Witch Country, whose laws prohibit their enslavement and are recognized by other continental states. Isaac nevertheless became interested in her magic and considered acquiring her for study, while explicitly rejecting the idea of sacrificing her to extract a hypothetical “Witch Heart.” 148
