History

Rule over the Nine Realms

Odin's earlier reign was expansionist. Together with Hela, he conquered the Nine Realms, but he later abandoned plans for wider conquest after witnessing the cost in Asgardian lives and recognizing the dangers of the wider universe. Hela rejected this retreat and was sealed away after continuing to pursue conquest. 346

Asgard's influence extends to Midgard through its claimed protection and the Bifrost's ability to transport Asgardians across the Nine Realms. Thor's exile to Earth and Mjolnir's descent are both marked by a Bifrost beam. 91 171

The Light Phenomenon

A white radiance originating in Midgard spreads across Asgard and the other Nine Realms. Odin recognizes traces of power unique to the Asgardian God Race within the light, while Frigga feels an unusually intimate connection to it. 150 151

The phenomenon is eventually linked to Su Yao's awakening Light Divine Power and his identity as Balder, the God of Light. Its illumination causes peace and joy among those exposed to it. 151 206 215

Balder's Recognition

Asgardians initially sense familiar royal divine power from Su Yao despite believing him to be a Midgardian. 97 Later, Odin examines his aura and concludes that it carries the Asgardian royal bloodline, including traces of Odin and Frigga, leading Asgard to accept him as Prince Balder. 366

Ragnarok and Destruction

Hela infiltrates Odin's Vault, steals the Eternal Flame, and uses it to resurrect Surtur. 356 Surtur devastates Asgard with the Twilight Sword, destroys its treasury, and forces Odin to order the realm's evacuation. 357

Asgard is ultimately left as a desolate field of rubble in outer space, without atmosphere or light. 582 583

Recreation as New Asgard

Su Yao opens a Space Channel to Asgard's ruins and makes the environment habitable by creating oxygen and stable footing for Thor and the surviving Asgardians. 583

He then recreates Asgard in its former form through the power of Creation: clouds, water, land, vegetation, animals, and the realm's orbiting light source are restored. He uses light's record of the past to reproduce the old realm in exact detail. 584

After recreating the world itself, Su Yao restores the deceased Asgardians. Reality Warping and Creation draw their souls from Valhalla and other afterlife locations back into physical bodies, reviving figures including Heimdall, Odin, Frigga, and Loki. 585 586

Divine Enhancement

Su Yao later transforms Asgard's population into a substantially stronger divine race. Ordinary Asgardians gain physiques comparable to Hulk and Thanos, along with immortality unless killed. 626

Odin, Thor, Frigga, and other royals receive Godly Bodies, golden divine blood, and borrowed divine power. Odin states that his new strength would allow him to kill a Celestial Group member easily, while Thor's golden lightning and power rise dramatically. 626

Unlike the primary Asgard, this realm is trapped in an endless Ragnarok cycle: Asgard and its gods perish, return with erased memories, and are harvested again by hidden beings called the God Above Gods. 637

Su Yao arrives in this parallel Asgard and uses Reality Warping to erase the God Above Gods from its existence. 638 639
