Background / History

Tang Hao was Tang Chen's gifted grandson and a prospective heir of the Clear Sky Sect. Tang Chen personally began teaching him the Clear Sky Secret Arts after Tang Hao requested the Nine Absolute Techniques of Clear Sky. From an early age, Tang Hao was proud, aggressive, and convinced of his own superiority. When ordered to marry Qian Xunji for the sake of acquiring the Six-Winged Angel martial soul, he initially refused, claiming she was unworthy of becoming his primary wife; Tang Chen struck him and forced his compliance. 12

After five years of experience outside the sect, Tang Hao and his elder brother Tang Xiao became known as the “Clear Sky Twins.” Tang Hao's rising reputation, exceptional talent, and grandfather's encouragement fostered an increasingly reckless belief in his own invincibility. 17 38

He publicly challenged Qian Xunji in the Soul Fighting Arena, partly to test the Six-Winged Angel martial soul and partly from a desire to prove the Clear Sky Hammer's supremacy. He attempted to limit her speed advantage by choosing an arena, but Qian Xunji's Title Douluo strength and fully mastered Angel Domain overwhelmed him. His Ring Detonation left him severely injured and comatose. 38 40 41

Tang Hao sought greater power afterward, obsessing over Hundred-Thousand-Year Soul Rings and Ten Thousand Year Soul Bones. During a Martial Soul Hall hunt in the Far North, he tried to seize or sabotage the hunt for a Hundred-Thousand-Year Soul Beast. Yue Guan nearly killed him; Tang Hao survived only by detonating eight rings, but the damage reduced him to Soul Saint and left lasting harm to his cultivation. 51 56 57 60

Driven by guilt over Tang Yuehua's disappearance and rage at his own humiliation, Tang Hao later attacked the Martial Soul Temple in Tiandou City. Gui Mei ambushed him, after which Martial Soul Hall spirit masters defeated and imprisoned him. The event disgraced both Tang Hao and the Clear Sky Sect. 73 75 76

His injuries, failures, and loss of status caused a mental collapse. He became suspicious of Tang Xiao, convinced that his brother wanted to take his inheritance and resources. Their conflict escalated into a formal duel, where Tang Xiao defeated him through a calculated counterattack. While hunting in the Star Dou Forest, Tang Hao rescued Xiao Wu's mother, Ah Rou, but later killed her for a Hundred-Thousand-Year Soul Bone. The bone was stolen from his storage soul tool before he could fuse it, leaving him furious and forced to flee pursuing soul beasts and human soul masters. 139 141 142

Over the following years, Tang Hao became a Title Douluo and lived with Xiao Wu, whom he recognized as a transformed soul beast. Though he initially viewed her as a future Hundred-Thousand-Year Soul Ring, his growing attachment to her left him unable to act. He later attempted to rescue Tang San from a Spirit Hall mine, only to encounter Yue Guan again; the memory of his Far North defeat broke his resolve, and Yue Guan defeated him despite Tang Hao detonating all nine soul rings. 184 185 200 218

Personality

Tang Hao is intensely proud, competitive, and prone to treating setbacks as personal humiliation. Tang Chen's encouragement gave him an “invincible” mindset, but it also made him reckless and unable to judge when he was outmatched. 38 41

He pursues strength with fixation, particularly Hundred-Thousand-Year Soul Rings and Soul Bones. He is willing to interfere with others' soul hunts, kill soul beasts for their bones, and exhaust his own foundation through Ring Detonation to gain an advantage or survive defeat. 51 56 57 141

Repeated defeats made him distrustful and unstable. He interpreted Tang Xiao's concern as a scheme to seize his inheritance, became isolated within the Clear Sky Sect, and eventually fled it.
