Background / History
Before becoming Doom, he was Du Mu, a human soul selected by a system for survival in the 40K universe. The system fused a fragment of Doom Slayer's essence into his soul, removed and sealed his memories, and sent him toward the material universe. The essence was intended to preserve his soul against Warp corruption, though it also drew the attention of the Four Chaos Gods. 3 4
He arrived on Nul in an artificial amniotic machine that breached the planet's Dimensional Shield using Warp energy. Its arrival created a devastating explosion that annihilated nearby Orcs, yet the infant within emerged unharmed. King Norwick recovered him from the crater, named him Doom, and declared him a prince of the Norwick Dynasty. 20
High Priest Isaac had expected to claim the child under a divine prophecy, but Norwick refused to surrender him. The resulting conflict made Doom a focal point of the struggle between Nul's warrior and priestly castes. 20
Appearance
Doom's body grows at an abnormal rate, changing from a black-haired infant into a towering, heavily muscled warrior within a short span of time. By the time he becomes Warlord, he stands roughly three meters tall. 20 23 42
- Short, clean black hair; thick eyebrows; piercing black eyes. 42
- Strong, sharply defined physique, with exposed musculature described as unusually perfect. 42
- A blood-red rune mark lies at the center of his chest and glows when activated by Warp-related phenomena. 20 25
- The rune later becomes the emblem used by his personal guard, Haran Ogilvy. 27
- His accelerated growth prevents smiths from maintaining properly fitted power armor; he later wears simplified gladiator-like armor with shoulder guards, faulds, and combat boots. 45
Personality
Doom is intensely self-assured and dislikes being treated as an ordinary child. When Haran doubts his claim that he can defeat an Orc, Doom insists that he is stating fact rather than boasting. He proves this confidence through precise action rather than empty displays. 23 25 27
Despite his confidence, he fears the implications of his unknown origin and extraordinary nature. He worries that a creator might someday demand evil of him, or that his own abilities could lead him down a corrupt path. King Norwick's acceptance and guidance help him resolve to become strong enough to choose his own future. 28
He refuses the Chaos Gods' offers of power and remains committed to the warrior's path taught by Norwick. Though he is exceptionally lethal in battle, his strongest emotional attachment is to his family. 26 42
Abilities & Skills
Doom Slayer Essence
Doom's soul contains an incomplete fragment of Doom Slayer's essence, carrying the concepts of its original owner despite being far weaker than the full Doom Slayer. 3
- Protects his soul from Warp corruption and makes it difficult for the Chaos Gods to influence him. 3 26
- Causes instinctive fear and reverence in those who sense his higher nature, including King Norwick at Doom's arrival. 20
- Resists the Chaos Gods' attempts to claim or bind his soul. 25 26
- Is explicitly only a fragment; Doom does not possess the full Doom Slayer's demonstrated power. 3
Superhuman Perception and Physical Ability
Doom possesses extreme strength, speed, reflexes, and analytical perception from childhood onward. 25 45
- Perceives combat in apparent slow motion and identifies an opponent's muscle movements, heartbeat, weak points, and likely attacks. 25
- Processes thousands of possible actions in an instant, though his developing body initially limits how quickly he can physically respond. 25
- Kills a ten-Orc patrol bare-handed in 0.2 seconds while moving alongside a supersonic anti-gravity bike. 45
- Slaughters roughly three thousand Orcs in a valley within minutes alongside Haran, with Haran crediting Doom for the overwhelming majority of the destruction. 45 46
Memory Consumption
By eating the flesh of sentient beings, Doom can absorb memories contained in their genes. 32
- Can acquire an enemy's movements, knowledge, deployments, and racial information. 32 45 48
- Uses Orc memories to learn of Gork and Mork and understand the Orcs' idealistic energy field. 45 48
- Must keep the ability secret, as comrades could fear him if they knew he could access their memories through their flesh. 32
- Excessive absorption risks contaminating his perspective and weakening his mental discipline. 32
- Later isolates acquired memories in a dedicated mental compartment to preserve his subjective judgment. 45
Swordsmanship and Close Combat
Doom begins formal warrior training under Haran after demonstrating exceptional aptitude for basic swordsmanship. 35
- Favors efficient, direct attacks that exploit anatomical weaknesses. 25 27
- Learns the Way of the Warrior and basic swordsmanship with unusual speed. 35
- Uses fist spikes and a Dimensional Light Sword in later Orc battles. 45
Strategic Command
As Warlord, Doom demonstrates an instinctive understanding of warfare and large-scale battlefield control. 42 47
- Uses modified relic technology to transmit digital battlefield orders directly to Night Watchers. 47
- Herds scattered Orc groups into a single force of approximately seventy thousand over twenty hours. 47
- Exploits Orc belief and consensus by arranging for Haran to appear defeated, intending to create an Orc legend and manipulate their idealistic field. 47 48
- Engineers a controlled six-month war zone to cultivate and trap the Orc boss Gu Ya before ordering a final assault. 50

Arena Trial and Chaos Temptation
After rapidly growing over three months, Doom challenges and kills a Special Ops Boy in the Guardian Arena with one kick and one punch.
