Background

Dr. Gero and Dr. Myuu created Hell Fighter 17 in Hell, then opened a gate linking Hell and Earth. Hell Fighter 17 merged with the Android 17 of the mortal realm, producing Super 17. The fusion was intended as the doctors' ultimate weapon of revenge against the Dragon Ball warriors. 27 33

The merging of Hell and the mortal realm released numerous deceased enemies onto Earth and lured Son Goku into Hell. Because androids do not emit a detectable aura, Super 17 remained hidden until Dr. Gero called him forward to confront Vegeta and the other defenders. 32

Clash with Lei Chen
