After recovering, Lu Xueqi accepts Zhang Qingxuan's invitation to follow him and shares her tragic past with him 88. He later takes her to the Martial Soul Awakening Hall, where she introduces herself to the assembled crowd despite visible nervousness 90.

Her awakening nearly causes a backlash when a second, unstable power emerges from the same origin as her sword Martial Soul. Zhang Qingxuan directs the excess essence into her left hand and condenses it into a scabbard, stabilizing her body 92. The result is identified as a primary Martial Soul and a Companion Martial Soul rather than Twin Martial Souls 92 93.

Zhang Qingxuan takes responsibility for her training under a five-year agreement with Qian Xunji: Lu Xueqi and Bibi Dong are each taught for five years before a spar tests their progress 93. Lu Xueqi begins practicing the Sutra of Innate Qi and Mortal Shedding, converting and refining her soul-master power toward Qi 98.

After relocating to Bright Moon Temple, Zhang Qingxuan entrusts Xu Yan to her as a disciple, allowing Lu Xueqi to begin teaching another exceptionally gifted sword-and-soul-master cultivator 268.

During Zhang Qingxuan's absence, Lu Xueqi remains associated with Bright Moon Temple and eventually intervenes in Xu Han's war to unify the Sun Moon Continent. On a later visit to Sea God Island, Lu Xueqi undertakes a dangerous transformation while absorbing a Soul Ring and becomes an Innate Lifeform 324 325 326. Seven days after her breakthrough, she confesses her love to Zhang Qingxuan, who accepts her feelings. They subsequently tour the island with Bo Saixi before returning to the Sun Moon Continent, where Lu Xueqi recounts the events of Xu Han's rise 326 327 328.

Her dedication is tied to a desire to remain useful at Zhang Qingxuan's side. She believes that insufficient strength or knowledge would bring shame to him, and she intends to reach Soul Douluo before age eighteen despite describing herself as limited in aptitude 132 159. Zhang Qingxuan is proud of her focus but worries that her relentless training will cost her warmth and vitality 159. Although direct and perceptive in combat, Lu Xueqi is comparatively inexperienced with worldly negotiation. While acting as Dragon Tiger Mountain's envoy to the Water Family, she takes Shui Canglan's stalling as rejection and leaves immediately, later realizing that he had attempted to exploit her straightforwardness for further concessions 203 204.

Lu Xueqi is nevertheless observant regarding Zhang Qingxuan. After reaching Unity of Heaven and Man, she recognizes that his eagerness to assist her breakthrough is connected to his coming departure and directly asks when he will return 269 270. Her outward severity also conceals a degree of mercy: when dealing with persistent suitors at Bright Moon Temple, she throws them down the mountain rather than killing them 269.

After five years of cultivation, Lu Xueqi faces Bibi Dong in Martial Soul City. She reveals herself as an eleven-year-old Soul King, then refuses to use either her Martial Soul or soul skills, challenging Bibi Dong to endure for half an incense stick 132. Her released sword intent destroys Bibi Dong's web attack, and her Sword Control Technique forces Bibi Dong onto the defensive 132 133.

Lu Xueqi ultimately sends Bibi Dong out of the arena, but declares the contest a draw because the incense is fully spent before Bibi Dong lands. She then gives her rival a medicinal pill 134.

Sword Cultivation and Street Battle

Lu Xueqi preserves Tianya as a hidden finishing move while training with ordinary iron to refine her mindset 136. During an attack in Martial Soul City, she is severely injured by Fallen Soul Masters who repeatedly self-destruct to exhaust her, before using Tianya to defeat their Soul Saint leader 135 136. Lu Xueqi accompanies Zhang Qingxuan on his journey toward the sea, traveling by flying sword 226. During the conflict involving Sea God Island, she remains at his side in the clouds and observes Bo Saixi's personal entry into the battle 233.

When the Deep Sea Demonic Whale King and the Demon Empress join forces against Zhang Qingxuan, Lu Xueqi prevents Bo Saixi and Qian Daoliu from interfering, trusting Zhang Qingxuan to handle the battle himself 237. She later joins Bo Saixi and Qian Daoliu in returning to Zhang Qingxuan after his victory 238.

After Zhang Qingxuan releases the Demon Empress's bindings and directs her to accompany them, Lu Xueqi understands his signal, approaches by flying sword, and supports the subdued woman's arm as they depart 239.

Sea God Island Training

At Soul Power level 87, Lu Xueqi requests permission to train through Sea God Island's Tidal Body Refinement rather than merely departing with Zhang Qingxuan 242. She withstands the tide's continuous, Title-Douluo-level pressure and subsequently completes the second level of the Sutra of Innate Qi and Mortal Shedding 242 246.

Mentorship at Bright Moon Temple

After Zhang Qingxuan establishes Bright Moon Temple as a foothold, he instructs Lu Xueqi to accept Xu Yan as her disciple 266 268. Sea God Island Revisit and Innate Lifeform Breakthrough

During a later stay on Sea God Island, Zhang Qingxuan leaves Gu Qiu'er under Lu Xueqi's supervision 320. Lu Xueqi secures permission for them to explore the island, provided Qiu'er avoids causing trouble. Their restaurant visit becomes a comic confrontation when Zhang Qingxuan eats Qiu'er's prepared seafood and leaves at Bo Saixi's summons; Lu Xueqi then turns her attention and drawn sword toward her oblivious junior sister 323.

While absorbing a Soul Ring under Zhang Qingxuan and Bo Saixi's protection, Lu Xueqi deliberately undertakes a dangerous cultivation breakthrough. After half a month, her energy becomes violently unstable, prompting Zhang Qingxuan to condemn her recklessness 324. The trial continues over six days. At its final stage, her true qi compresses into a sphere whose life force begins to fade. Seven days after her breakthrough, Lu Xueqi approaches Zhang Qingxuan believing that he has agreed to their union, a misunderstanding linked to Bo Saixi's intervention. Rather than retreat when his surprise becomes apparent, she openly states that she loves him and wants to become his woman, then kisses him.
