Background / History

Li Yingxue is Zhang Qingxuan’s foster sister and the biological daughter of Li Yuntian and Yang Wanqing. She was born three years after Zhang Qingxuan was adopted by the Li Family. Although initially spoiled and lax in cultivation, she is deeply attached to Zhang Qingxuan and quickly recognizes why the family concealed his extraordinary talent from outside powers 2.

Her early relationship with Xiao Bai is marked by frequent arguments, largely stemming from their mutual attachment to Zhang Qingxuan. Li Yingxue can become emotional during these disputes, but the two gradually develop greater understanding through their travels and shared experiences 2 3 44 65.

Zhang Qingxuan gives her the Fire Virtue Yang Qi Art, a cultivation method created for her use 24. The art rapidly elevates her cultivation, enables her to awaken Ultimate Fire and Li Fire, and forms the foundation of her later combat strength 43 52.

After reflecting on her prior lack of diligence and gaining experience through her travels, Li Yingxue resolves to cultivate seriously so that she can stand beside Zhang Qingxuan rather than remain someone he must protect 65.

Personality

Li Yingxue is affectionate, blunt, and fiercely protective of Zhang Qingxuan. She is prone to jealousy when other women become close to him, particularly Xiao Bai, the Snow Empress, and the Ice Empress 24 145.

Though immature and prone to emotional outbursts in her earlier appearances, she becomes increasingly confident and composed in battle. She actively seeks strong opponents, thinks strategically under pressure, and refuses to be constrained by conventional assumptions about level or elemental advantage 43 46.

Her confidence does not erase her insecurity. She feels isolated by her strength among peers and is visibly frustrated upon learning that Yun Qingyang’s Innate Soul Power exceeds her own former level 21 116.

Li Yingxue is also emotionally perceptive and highly loyal to those close to her. When Lu Xueqi is discouraged after failing to secure the Water Family’s cooperation, Yingxue immediately recognizes that the situation may involve deliberate manipulation and joins Xiao Bai in supporting her 204.

Following her Creation Pill transformation, Li Yingxue is surrounded by cyan flames that gradually turn gold; a swallow-like phantom appears within the fire and develops increasingly solid wings 65.

Early Family Life

Li Yingxue informs Zhang Qingxuan that their mother has also become a Soul Douluo and reacts with shock to the revelation of his cultivation speed. Her scenes establish both her close bond with him and her conflict with Xiao Bai 2 3.

As the treasured biological daughter of Li Yuntian and Yang Wanqing, she initially depends heavily on Zhang Qingxuan and often tries to evade cultivation. Even at this stage, however, she understands the need to conceal his talent from hostile outside powers 2.

Soul Fighting Arena

Seeking a challenge, Li Yingxue brings Xiao Bai to the arena outside Spirit City. Concealing her identity, she defeats a higher-level water-attribute opponent and subsequently dominates further matches through close-quarters combat 43 44.

When a Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Sect Soul Sect challenges the arena’s leading fighters, Li Yingxue accepts the challenge to preserve its reputation. She defeats Yu Heng with Blazing Claw, exposing the danger of her soul-burning flame 45 46.

Blazing Fire City

Li Yingxue travels with Xiao Bai to Blazing Fire City, visits the Li Family branch at Flame Flavor Pavilion, and attends the exchange tournament between Blazing Fire Academy and Heavenly Water Academy 48 50. She remains protective of Zhang Qingxuan when Shui Qingxue calls herself his sister-in-law 49.

Creation Pill Transformation

Fallen Soul Master Attack

After reaching level 50, Li Yingxue hunts a 30,000-year Blazing Fire Bird with Zhang Qingxuan’s approval and absorbs its soul ring 67.

When Fallen Soul Masters attack Qingfeng Town, Li Yingxue immediately recognizes them and takes the initiative to fight. She uses Li Fire: Blazing Palm to break through an opponent’s defense and continues battling the attackers with agile, flame-wreathed close-quarters attacks 68.

Martial Soul Academy

By the time Zhang Qingxuan begins teaching at Martial Soul Academy, Li Yingxue has become a level 55 Battle Soul King. Alongside Jin Ting, she is feared by students as one of the academy’s “Twin Fiends” 108 117.

She and Jin Ting spar regularly and train in the Baji Fist manual Zhang Qingxuan provided, further refining their close-combat methods 109.

Feelings for Zhang Qingxuan

After the Snow Empress and Ice Empress enter Zhang Qingxuan’s private courtyard, Li Yingxue reacts with jealousy and recognizes her own feelings for him. Yang Wanqing subsequently attempts to use those feelings to influence Zhang Qingxuan’s decisions regarding marriage and alliances 145.
