Li Yingxue is Zhang Qingxuan’s foster sister and the biological daughter of Li Yuntian and Yang Wanqing. She was born three years after Zhang Qingxuan was adopted by the Li Family. Although initially spoiled and lax in cultivation, she is deeply attached to Zhang Qingxuan and quickly recognizes why the family concealed his extraordinary talent from outside powers 2.

Her early relationship with Xiao Bai is marked by frequent arguments, largely stemming from their mutual attachment to Zhang Qingxuan. Li Yingxue can become emotional during these disputes, but the two gradually develop greater understanding through their travels and shared experiences 2 3 44 65.

Zhang Qingxuan gives her the Fire Virtue Yang Qi Art, a cultivation method created for her use 24. The art rapidly elevates her cultivation, enables her to awaken Ultimate Fire and Li Fire, and forms the foundation of her later combat strength 43 52.

After reflecting on her prior lack of diligence and gaining experience through her travels, Li Yingxue resolves to cultivate seriously so that she can stand beside Zhang Qingxuan rather than remain someone he must protect 65.

Following the development of her relationship with Zhang Qingxuan, Li Yingxue spends most of her time at Dragon Tiger Mountain and the Celestial Master Mansion rather than the Li Family residence 222. She continues to return home for significant family and political events, including the New Sect Rankings in Spirit City 244.

Her future also becomes a concern in Zhang Qingxuan’s cultivation plans. After she is distressed by the difficulties of bearing his child, he comforts her and later intends to visit the God Realm to obtain a powerful Godhood befitting her status. This remains a stated intention rather than a confirmed advancement for Li Yingxue 196.

Personality

Li Yingxue is affectionate, blunt, and fiercely protective of Zhang Qingxuan. She is prone to jealousy when other women become close to him, particularly Xiao Bai, the Snow Empress, and the Ice Empress 24 145.

Though immature and prone to emotional outbursts in her earlier appearances, she becomes increasingly confident and composed in battle. She actively seeks strong opponents, thinks strategically under pressure, and refuses to be constrained by conventional assumptions about level or elemental advantage 43 46.

Her confidence does not erase her insecurity. She feels isolated by her strength among peers and is visibly frustrated upon learning that Yun Qingyang’s Innate Soul Power exceeds her own former level 21 116.

Li Yingxue is also emotionally perceptive and highly loyal to those close to her. When Lu Xueqi is discouraged after failing to secure the Water Family’s cooperation, Yingxue immediately recognizes that the situation may involve deliberate manipulation and joins Xiao Bai in supporting her 204.

As Zhang Qingxuan’s principal wife, Li Yingxue shows a calculating and politically aware side. She actively seeks Xiao Bai’s future support against other women around Zhang Qingxuan, recognizing that a formal position alone will not guarantee her influence 225. Despite her old hostility toward the Li Family’s main branch, she later treats Li Changyue with unexpected magnanimity, distinguishing the child and Li Yunruo from those responsible for the family’s past grievances 244.

She previously asked to learn the Sutra of Innate Qi and Mortal Shedding, and Zhang Qingxuan imparted its first-level formula without withholding it. However, she could not comprehend the text, finding it vastly more obscure than the Fire Virtue Yang Qi Art. Her astonishment at Lu Xueqi’s successful cultivation of the sutra reflects this limitation rather than a lack of access to the technique 111.

Early Family Life

Li Yingxue informs Zhang Qingxuan that their mother has also become a Soul Douluo and reacts with shock to the revelation of his cultivation speed. Her scenes establish both her close bond with him and her conflict with Xiao Bai 2 3.

As the treasured biological daughter of Li Yuntian and Yang Wanqing, she initially depends heavily on Zhang Qingxuan and often tries to evade cultivation. Even at this stage, however, she understands the need to conceal his talent from hostile outside powers 2.

Soul Fighting Arena

Seeking a challenge, Li Yingxue brings Xiao Bai to the arena outside Spirit City. Concealing her identity, she defeats a higher-level water-attribute opponent and subsequently dominates further matches through close-quarters combat 43 44.

When a Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Sect Soul Sect challenges the arena’s leading fighters, Li Yingxue accepts the challenge to preserve its reputation. She defeats Yu Heng with Blazing Claw, exposing the danger of her soul-burning flame 45 46.

Her victories also give Xiao Bai substantial gambling winnings. At Xiao Bai’s encouragement, Yingxue continues fighting several matches before the pair celebrate with a feast and a hotel stay. Their subsequent meeting with Li Le reveals the network of former Li Family retainers that Li Yuntian has placed in influential positions 44.

Blazing Fire City

Li Yingxue travels with Xiao Bai to Blazing Fire City, visits the Li Family branch at Flame Flavor Pavilion, and attends the exchange tournament between Blazing Fire Academy and Heavenly Water Academy 48 50. She remains protective of Zhang Qingxuan when Shui Qingxue calls herself his sister-in-law 49.

Her journey broadens her perspective and contributes to her later decision to stop relying on Zhang Qingxuan’s protection and pursue strength in earnest 65.

During the visit, she recognizes Zhang Qingxuan’s influence in Shui Qingxue’s unusual combat style. Although Shui Qingxue’s progress is impressive, Yingxue’s awakened Ultimate Fire and Li Fire give her a foundation that makes Huo Yunshan an easy prospective opponent 51 52.

Creation Pill Transformation

At the Orange Grove Courtyard, Li Yingxue refines a Creation Pill alongside her parents and Xiao Bai. During the process, her flames change from cyan to gold and her swallow-like Martial Soul phantom becomes more substantial 65.

After awakening, she declares that her Martial Soul has evolved into the Super Martial Soul Red Sun Golden Feather Swallow. She demonstrates its increased destructive power by burning through solid stone with a thread of golden flame 66.

Fallen Soul Master Attack

After reaching level 50, Li Yingxue hunts a 30,000-year Blazing Fire Bird with Zhang Qingxuan’s approval and absorbs its soul ring 67.

When Fallen Soul Masters attack Qingfeng Town, Li Yingxue immediately recognizes them and takes the initiative to fight. She uses Li Fire: Blazing Palm to break through an opponent’s defense and continues battling the attackers with agile, flame-wreathed close-quarters attacks 68.

Martial Soul Academy

By the time Zhang Qingxuan begins teaching at Martial Soul Academy, Li Yingxue has become a level 55 Battle Soul King. Alongside Jin Ting, she is feared by students as one of the academy’s “Twin Fiends” 108 117.

She and Jin Ting spar regularly and train in the Baji Fist manual Zhang Qingxuan provided, further refining their close-combat methods 109.

Together with Jin Ting and Lin Meng’er, she follows Lu Xueqi and the unfamiliar-looking Zhang Zhiwei to a classroom and attends his lecture on the Eight Extraordinary Meridians. When she realizes the lecturer is her brother and disrupts the class, he strikes her forehead with a piece of chalk and warns against further disturbances 109 110.

Afterward, she witnesses Zhang Qingxuan restore his original appearance and learns that Lu Xueqi is cultivating the Sutra of Innate Qi and Mortal Shedding. Having previously failed to understand the same art, Yingxue is left speechless by Lu Xueqi’s demonstrated Innate Qi 111.

Feelings for Zhang Qingxuan

After the Snow Empress and Ice Empress enter Zhang Qingxuan’s private courtyard, Li Yingxue reacts with jealousy and recognizes her own feelings for him. Yang Wanqing subsequently attempts to use those feelings to influence Zhang Qingxuan’s decisions regarding marriage and alliances 145.

Yang Wanqing’s scheme ultimately forces both Li Yingxue and Zhang Qingxuan to confront their feelings. Li Yingxue confesses her love, shares her first kiss with him, and begins an intimate relationship with him 146. When he later leaves to avenge Yun Qingyang, she chooses seclusion and cultivation over accompanying him, determined to become someone capable of standing at his side 147.

By Zhang Qingxuan’s later journeys beyond the continent, their relationship has become openly intimate. Li Yingxue worries about his departures and remains among the people closest to him at the Celestial Master Mansion 196 223.

His absences sometimes leave her feeling neglected. When he returns to the Li Family residence with her favorite osmanthus cakes, her resentment gives way to affection, and she joins the family meal at which he explains his search for divine materials containing the five elemental origins 175 176.

The difficulties of having a child with Zhang Qingxuan also deeply upset her. His recollection of comforting her reveals that her concerns extend beyond jealousy to their shared future, while his intention to secure a powerful Godhood for her reflects his determination to address the gap between their life levels 196.

Before his later departure, she directly confronts him about Snow Empress and Xiao Bai, stating that she has already noticed their feelings and can accept his relationships with them 223.

Water Family Negotiations

When the Water Family delays accepting Lu Xueqi’s offer of submission to Dragon Tiger Mountain, Li Yingxue and Xiao Bai recognize that the family is trying to bargain for additional benefits. After Shui Qingxue follows them and offers to accept the original terms, Yingxue blocks Lu Xueqi from immediately agreeing and confronts Shui Qingxue over the attempted manipulation 204.

Yingxue reinforces Xiao Bai’s pressure by declaring that Dragon Tiger Mountain does not need the Water Family as a vassal. She points out that the sect could instead spend several years cultivating a new water-element family with its own resources and patronage, making clear that the Water Family has no indispensable leverage 205.

Principal Wife Alliance

Before Zhang Qingxuan departs on a long journey, Li Yingxue approaches Xiao Bai to seek an alliance. Though confident that she will hold the position of principal wife, she believes the title has little value without dependable support against other prospective wives 225.

Xiao Bai agrees to stand with her, while making Li Yingxue promise not to use her favored position to mistreat innocent women. Their agreement formally shifts their old rivalry into a cooperative alliance 225.

New Sect Rankings

Li Yingxue returns with Snow Empress and Yun Lingyue to the Li Family residence in Spirit City as major continental powers gather for the New Sect Rankings. She reunites affectionately with Yang Wanqing, playfully extracts money from Li Yuntian, and meets Li Changyue for the first time 244.

During the event, she discusses Dragon Tiger Mountain’s strategy with Yun Lingyue and Snow Empress. She is concerned by Yun Lingyue’s casual attitude toward the competition, but later recognizes that Lingyue has become far more cunning and tactically ruthless than before 244 245 248.

Their discussion establishes that Dragon Tiger Mountain is attending primarily to gather intelligence and make a public demonstration of authority rather than pursue rankings for their own sake. After observing Lingyue’s changed approach, Yingxue remarks that the once seemingly honest girl has become the member most like Zhang Qingxuan in cunning 244 248.
