Background / History

Shrek Academy was regarded across the Federation as its strongest organization, with its graduates enjoying immense prestige and influence. Its campus formed the core of Shrek City; together with the Tang Sect, it occupied more than half of the city. The academy and Tang Sect also controlled vital resources and advanced technologies, including space teleportation and mecha-manufacturing techniques. 71 83 99

The academy invited Chen Ye and Yun Xiao to join its Genius Youth Class after Cai Yue'er reviewed evidence of Chen Ye defeating second-year class monitor Lin Yicheng. Although the invitation required the pair to visit Shrek regardless of their decision, Sea God Pavilion Master Yun Ming rejected Chen Ye after sensing his extreme darkness Martial Soul and judging his character unsuitable. 98 99 100

As tensions with the Federation escalated, Shrek's standing deteriorated. Following the destruction of the Tang Sect headquarters, Shrek openly defied Federation authority, refused to pay taxes, and convened the Sea God Pavilion to address the threat to its survival. 136

During the attack on Shrek City, soul-guided artillery destroyed the Golden Ancient Tree and devastated the academy. Yun Luo subsequently destroyed nearly all of the campus, including the Sea God Pavilion and Outer Court, while much of the surrounding city was also ruined. 155 156

The Sun-Moon Federation later designated Shrek Academy a traitorous organization and expelled its remaining members. Surviving Outer Court students, teachers, and Tang Sect personnel departed by ocean liner for the Star Luo Empire, while Yun Ming remained behind in the Federation. 164 166 167

A seemingly restored Shrek Academy later appeared amid the ruins of Shrek City. It was a false reconstruction created from the souls of deceased teachers and students, intended as a trap for Yun Ming rather than the academy's genuine restoration. 167 168
