Background / History

Qian Xunji served as Spirit Hall’s Pope during a period in which his father, Qian Daoliu, and the other Consecrators largely remained in seclusion. When a mysterious powerhouse attacked the Consecration Hall, he treated the threat as a crisis for Spirit City and issued the highest alarm, mobilizing seven Titled Douluo before learning that the intruder was the resurrected Qian Wushuang 7.

Within the Qian Clan, Qian Xunji was burdened by comparisons with his Peerless Douluo ancestors. As a rank 95 Titled Douluo, he was derided as the clan’s “shame” and pressured by Qian Wuji to reach rank 97 26 29. He later used an Immortal Herb to break through to rank 96, restoring much of his confidence 118.

As Pope, he oversaw Spirit Hall’s response to major internal developments. He planned the construction of the Supreme Elder Hall for resurrected Peerless Douluo and handled the incorporation of powerful allies and organizations into Spirit Hall 35 144. He also elevated Yue Guan and Gui Mei to the positions of Sixth and Seventh Worships after the creation of the Supreme Elder Hall shifted the existing hierarchy 147.

Qian Xunji eventually confessed his past actions involving Bibi Dong and the secret chamber incident to the Supreme Elder Hall, knowing that the matter could not remain hidden indefinitely 172. Bibi Dong later returned to Spirit City but repeatedly refused to meet him, retaining intense hatred for him 179 188.

Bibi Dong poisoned Qian Xunji and ultimately killed him to activate her Rakshasa God divine examination. Qian Xunji accepted his death as the price of securing a god for Spirit Hall’s future, while the Supreme Elder Hall concealed the true cause of death from the organization 194 195. Qian Renheng later revived him using Death Apostle; following his return, Qian Xunji publicly arranged for Qian Renheng to succeed him as Pope 197.

Personality

Qian Xunji is deeply insecure about his cultivation talent and his standing within the Qian Clan. Publicly, he can present an imposing image as the Pope, but around his father and resurrected ancestors he becomes timid, self-doubting, and highly conscious of their judgment 29 115 175.

He is nevertheless capable of political planning. He recognizes the importance of consolidating Spirit Hall’s strength, promotes trusted subordinates, and considers Qian Renheng better suited to lead the organization than himself 35 147 175. His confidence rises sharply after reaching rank 96, though his breakthrough depended on an Immortal Herb 118.

In his final decisions as Pope, he displays resignation and a measure of responsibility. He accepts Bibi Dong’s revenge and his own death as part of an arrangement meant to benefit Spirit Hall and protect his children’s future 194 195.
