History

Origins and dormant Heavenly Laws

When the Heavenly Court was established, the Heavenly Laws manifested alongside it. However, the laws imposed no punishment for violations for many years and became little more than decoration. 507

The Heavenly Emperor later learned through an ancient Dragon Clan relic that Heaven still existed and that upholding the Heavenly Laws could reveal Heaven's secrets and grant Power of Heaven. He also admitted that he had not created the laws and could not fully control the Heavenly Court. 507 508

The Court was once associated with an ancient era in which the Heavenly Court truly ruled the Immortal Realm. In the present era, it was only one power in a three-way balance with the Immortal Court and Divine Court. 547

Jiang Changkong's appointment and judicial revival

The Court recruited Jiang Changkong after his actions in the Eastern Sea drew attention. He was first appointed a Southern Heavenly Gate Guard General, then reassigned as a Lower Realm Inspector with authority to investigate and punish Immortal Gods who violated Heavenly Laws. 493 500 508

After Jiang repeatedly enforced the laws, Heaven awakened the judicial immortal office. The Heavenly Emperor identified it as the ancient God of Justice position and ordered Jiang to be cultivated rapidly. 518

Jiang later became the Heaven-appointed Judicial Heavenly God. The Judicial Heavenly God Hall manifested beside the Southern Heavenly Gate, and the Heavenly Emperor publicly ordered all immortals to obey the Heavenly Laws. 530

Struggle over judicial authority

The Heavenly Emperor and Purple Star Heavenly King supported Jiang's rise because his judicial office allowed them to probe Heaven's secrets and strengthen their control of the Court. 530

Purple Star Heavenly King later demanded the Judicial Book of Heaven, intending to use it to gain Power of Heaven through law enforcement. Jiang surrendered a secondary copy under pressure but retained the main book, which could control or erase the copy. 540

The Purple Star Heavenly King subsequently gave the secondary Judicial Book to Liu Zhi and had him replace Jiang as a lower-realm enforcer. 542 Liu Zhi was later exposed as a false Judicial Heavenly God and executed by Jiang. 558 559

Conflict with the Demon Court

The Heavenly Court targeted demons to rapidly gain Power of Heaven, prompting Jiang Changkong to expose its actions and organize the Demon Court's resistance. 552

Its forces descended upon Proud Sea Kingdom and indiscriminately purged demons, leading to an open clash with the Demon Court. 553

The conflict escalated into direct campaigns against the Demon Court, including an attack by peak and limit Immortal Emperors. 700

Decline and destruction

The Heavenly Court secretly researched fusion between immortals and chaotic beasts while recruiting the Yang Family, descendants of ancient immortal gods, as Judicial Heavenly Gods. 772

Its attempt to unify the Heavenly Realm led to widespread instability: some immortals and gods were consumed by Yang Family bloodline, and even the Pagoda-Bearing Heavenly King fled the Court for refuge. 776

The Four Courts declared war on the Heavenly Court. During the final conflict, Eastern Emperor Changyue attacked the Southern Heavenly Gate, destroying both the gate and the Judicial Heavenly God Hall. 778 807

Later accounts describe the Heavenly Court as destroyed, with its former territory on Mount Buzhou claimed by Holy Land. 811 813

Governance and Jurisdiction

Heavenly Laws

The Heavenly Court Laws prohibited actions including:

• Offending higher-ranked immortals.
• Betraying the interests of the Heavenly Court.
• Leaving the Heavenly Court without permission.
• Visiting another immortal's residence without superior approval. 501

Disputes could be settled in the Heavenly Court arena, where life and death were not restricted. 501

Although the Court presented itself as an enforcer of order, its laws were widely disregarded before Heaven's revival. Immortal sects, Heavenly Court officials, and other major powers were bound together by corruption and mutual benefit. 527

Judicial Heavenly God

The Judicial Heavenly God was Heaven's appointed law enforcer, empowered to judge beings ranging from ordinary creatures to Immortal Kings. 530

Judicial Book of Heaven

The Judicial Book of Heaven was a Heaven-blessed record used to identify violations, determine guilt, and impose sentences. Only the genuine Judicial Deity could fully wield it. 519
