Background

Blood Rose and her older brother, Song Muhua, were the only survivors after an accident destroyed their small lineage. The siblings depended on one another while growing up, but Drifting Flower Pavilion’s preferential treatment of female disciples created resentment between them despite both possessing talent. 811

Attempting to repair their relationship, Blood Rose gave Song Muhua a forbidden Pavilion Battle Spirit Art. When he used it, the Pavilion spared Blood Rose because of her talent but severed Song Muhua’s Spirit Veins, leaving him unable to cultivate. Song Muhua came to believe that Blood Rose had deliberately prevented him from surpassing her, leaving her burdened with guilt and a fractured relationship with her only family. 811

While a core disciple of Drifting Flower Pavilion, Blood Rose received the Earthfire Crimson Lotus from Huo Hai. She used blood, Spirit Stone powder, Spirit Jade, and a Spirit Formation to renew her Source Spirit Treasure, gaining Earthfire control and reshaping its floral manifestation into a lotus bearing traces of a rose. 500

After leaving the Pavilion with Song Muhua to seek treatment for his Spirit Veins, Blood Rose was repeatedly targeted for her beauty and refused every attempt at coercion or bribery. Her public persona conceals a gentler and more childish private side. She reassured the frightened Yun’er with unexpected sincerity, became flustered by Huo Hai’s scent in his bedding, and reacted with genuine gratitude when his gift improved her future potential. 438 500

She is fiercely independent and difficult to control through threats or material temptation. At the same time, she is emotionally vulnerable concerning Song Muhua, her damaged memories, and Huo Hai.
