Power Progression

History

Li Yi enters the Primordial World through the National Destiny Trial and awakens in the body of a surviving Chaos Demon God. Injured and diminished by the Creation Tribulation, he first withdraws to recover. He later claims Penglai Island as his abode and obtains the Pure World White Lotus there 1 2 4 5.

During the Beast Calamity, his lotus’s purification power lets him destroy fierce beasts, including Qiongqi. The victory establishes his reputation as the Heaven-Earth Daoist. He subsequently joins Yuanfeng against Beast Emperor Shen Ni and receives a share of the calamity’s Heavenly Dao Merit 5 7 9 11.

He joins Hongjun, Yang Mei, and Yin-Yang Daoist in the Dao-Devil War, but distrusts Hongjun and bargains for treasures before committing. Against Luohou, he uses his defensive lotus and killing formation to survive and seize swords from the Immortal-Slaying Sword Formation. After the war, he claims the formation and receives a greater share of Merit than Hongjun 14 16 17 19 20.

Li Yi later competes with Hongjun for Heavenly Dao Authority by preaching at Yingzhou Island. Tongtian and Nuwa become his personal disciples, and Hong Yun later joins them. When Nuwa creates the Human Race, Li Yi swears a Great Dao Oath with her to establish the Human Dao; both become its Sovereigns. He subsequently defeats Hongjun in a duel, though the Heavenly Dao restores his rival 25 34 46 75 78 79.

Appearance

Li Yi takes a human-shaped Dao Body after awakening in his Demon God body 2.

• Wears a Spirit Treasure robe after transforming; he is later depicted as a green-robed Daoist 2 4 7.
• Rides the Pure World White Lotus in battle 16 19.

Formation Dao

Li Yi can detect flaws in formations, navigate their array eyes, and construct killing formations of his own 1 17 19.

• Creates the Twenty-Four Star Lodge Killing Formation to confine Luohou 16 19.
• Later modifies the Immortal-Slaying Sword Formation; its disorienting and offensive power overwhelms the Demon Court’s Quasi-Saints 60 61.

Chaos Demon God Body

• Fiendish Qi that weakens other cultivators does not hinder him 6 7.
• His body can nevertheless be pierced by an Immortal-Slaying Sword 17.

Dao Teaching

• His step-by-step sermons help listeners advance, including Tongtian and Nuwa 29 34.
• He teaches the Law Dao and Formation Dao, adapting the latter lecture to include listeners who cannot cultivate through Primordial Spirits 32 36.

Equipment & Treasures

• Cosmos Cauldron — companion Innate Supreme Treasure used for attack, defense, and transforming acquired treasures into innate ones; such refinement consumes its origin power 2 5.
• Pure World White Lotus — purifies Fiendish Qi and fierce beasts. Li Yi later refines it with Merit into a twenty-four-petal defensive supreme treasure 5 11 16.
• Twenty-Four Star Beads — refined from the Sea-Calming Pearls into a killing formation 9 13.
• Immortal-Slaying Sword Formation — claimed after the Dao-Devil War and later used against the Demon Court and Hongjun 20 60 78.
• Taiji Diagram — recovered after Yin-Yang Daoist’s death and concealed from Hongjun 20.

• Yang Mei — fellow Chaos Demon God and friendly Dao-discussion partner; invites Li Yi to his abode at Mount Kongxuan 7 8.
• Yuanfeng — recruits him to fight Shen Ni and entrusts Yuanling to his care 9.
