Personality

Itadori is protective and quick to help people without expecting a reward. Before becoming a documented Jujutsu High student, he stands up for younger pupils and intervenes when strangers threaten Wangchuan. He also notices Megumi’s unease about Tsumiki and encourages him to seek Wangchuan’s help 17 204.

He enjoys testing his strength, insisting on continuing against Todo despite being bloodied and knocked into a tree. That determination coexists with emotional vulnerability: Junpei’s suffering provokes intense anger, while Inumaki’s collapse leaves him crying until Todo rallies him to keep fighting 217 222 226.

His curiosity is often exuberant. On entering a parallel world, he initially wonders whether Wangchuan has created a magical barrier, then takes photographs of the battle and talks about showing them off afterward 252.

• Itadori can voluntarily relinquish control, as he does to allow Sukuna to remove the finger carrying his accumulated power 252.

Story Role / Major Arcs

Meeting Wangchuan in Sendai

Wangchuan first notices Itadori at Sugisawa Third High School after overhearing students praise his defense of bullied pupils. Shortly afterward, Itadori steps between Wangchuan and a group of delinquents attempting to rob him. He drives them away, checks that Wangchuan is unharmed, and offers further help if they return 17.

The two become friendly over the following days. By June 30, they have explored Sendai together and shared several meals, with Itadori thanking Wangchuan for treating him to food 18.

Jujutsu High and the Execution Proposal

Itadori later appears among Gojo’s students at a dessert-shop gathering. Excited by news of Wangchuan’s impending return, he encourages Megumi to ask whether Wangchuan can help his unconscious sister 204.

Meanwhile, the jujutsu higher-ups press for Itadori’s execution because he contains three of Sukuna’s Fingers. They propose having Kyoto students kill him amid the Goodwill Event’s confusion. Gakuganji recognizes the danger of provoking both Gojo and Wangchuan, and later recalls having put the matter on hold 215 221.

Goodwill Event and the Forest Attack

While clearing cursed spirits with Inumaki, Itadori encounters Todo and accepts his challenge. Todo declares him his best friend after hearing that his preferred type is a tall woman with a big backside, like Jennifer Lawrence. Their renewed fight is interrupted by Hanami and Suishi 217 218.

Itadori and Todo coordinate against Hanami, repeatedly breaking her armor. When Hanami mentions Mahito, Itadori recalls Junpei’s transfiguration and unleashes eight consecutive Black Flashes. Hanami subsequently restrains and drags him away so that Sukuna’s vessel will remain outside Suishi’s domain 219 222 223.

Inumaki reverses time to undo the domain’s casualties, but collapses under the backlash. Itadori calls for medical help and, after Todo’s encouragement, prepares to defend him. Wangchuan arrives, kills Suishi and Hanami, and heals Inumaki. Despite Wangchuan’s changed appearance, Itadori recognizes his voice and welcomes him back 224 226 227 228.

Tsumiki’s Treatment

Itadori accompanies Megumi and Nobara to Tsumiki’s hospital and anxiously asks about her condition. Wangchuan removes the cursed object responsible for her unconsciousness 231 232.

Sukuna interrupts through Itadori’s cheek and challenges Wangchuan. Itadori tries to silence him, then reacts with disbelief when Wangchuan proposes restoring Sukuna to full power for a fight with Gojo 232 233.

Parallel Shinjuku and Freedom from Sukuna

Itadori, Nobara, and Megumi cross a rift into another world, where Gojo is fighting a Sukuna who bears Megumi’s face. Itadori initially photographs the spectacle, but lowers his phone when he notices Megumi’s distress 252.

Under Wangchuan’s pressure, the Sukuna inside Itadori agrees to leave. With Itadori’s permission, he briefly takes control, severs the right index finger, and concentrates his five-Finger power into it. Itadori regains control and confirms that Sukuna is gone; Wangchuan then regenerates his missing finger 252.

Relationships

• Wangchuan — Friend turned teacher. Itadori trusts his abilities, worries during his six-month absence, and welcomes him back despite his unfamiliar appearance. Wangchuan explicitly refuses to endanger Itadori when planning Sukuna’s restoration 17 18 227 230.
• Satoru Gojo — Teacher and protector. His opposition to Itadori’s execution forces the higher-ups to consider indirect methods of killing him 204 215.
• Megumi Fushiguro — Fellow student whom Itadori supports through Tsumiki’s coma and the disturbing sight of his parallel-world body 204 231 252.
