Ch. 555Circle of Order · Holy Light Is Not Light

Dick met Elune after helping save Azeroth and declined to ask for a personal reward, prompting her to reveal why he had been chosen and to offer him a deeper understanding of Order and the Holy Light. As Elune showed him the first light in the universe, Dick realized the Holy Light had no intelligence of its own and that its power reflected his own hope and devotion to protecting what was good.

  • Dick jokingly asked Elune for world peace, then explained that he would rather earn what he wanted himself and had helped her willingly.
  • Elune told Dick that he had saved her from dying in her slumber and warned that their work was not finished, while Dick lamented that the Titans Path felt like a shackle.
  • Elune showed Dick alternate timelines and explained that his Azeroth would become the main world because he had healed it and tried to save everyone, regardless of personal gain.
  • Elune urged Dick to understand Order and the power behind the angel he could not control, then transformed the grassland into darkness so he could witness light emerging from it.
  • Dick recognized the vision as the Holy Light, and Elune explained that it was a phenomenon without intelligence while its users' understanding of it reflected their own hope and desire to protect beautiful things.
  • Dick realized that the Holy Light had never been a separate being he prayed to; its power had come from his own beliefs and actions.

Ch. 556Circle of Order · All opposing things

At the ruined site where Gamon found it, Sylvanas attacked the demon guards, hopeful that her missing eldest sister had survived and left the Insignia as a marker.

  • Gamon returned to Niskara and mourned the fallen comrades of the 107th Regiment while explaining that the regiment had paid for survival with thousands of lives.
  • Gamon told Rhonin, Vereesa, and Sylvanas that mana-addicted elves had been sent to the front under Alaeli, who offered them only the choice to become Illidari or die.

  • Dick gave Rhonin a Soulstone so he could offer the dead Tauren another chance, then carried Sylvanas back through the portal to Tempest Keep.
  • After Tempest Keep’s energy cannon destroyed Niskara, Dick sat beside Sylvanas’s bed and decided to respect her freedom, believing their feelings should end.
