Power Progression
The following increases are purchased with Rage Points, rather than gained through ordinary training.
| Stage / Realm / Level | Chapter | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Strength: 14 → 15 | 8 | Fang Yuan discovers the attribute “+” controls during his fight with Daniel. His first purchase costs 100 Rage Points. |
| Strength: 15 → 18 | 8 | Three further purchases let him match Daniel’s enhanced Strength and stop his punches. |
| Strength: 18 → 19 | 16 | Spends 100 points during his arm-wrestling match with Li Weilian. Strength Enhancement raises the resulting value to 22.8, overcoming Li Weilian’s 22. |
| Spirit: 15 → 20 | 22 | Spends 500 points. Advanced Spirit Enhancement raises his effective Spirit to 28, allowing Iris Data to reveal more of Wei Hailong’s panel. |
| Agility: 15 → 18 | 25 | Spends 300 points while racing Lei Minghao. Advanced Agility Enhancement raises his effective Agility to 25.2. |
| Strength: 19 → 20 | 36 | Spends 100 points to reach the conventional Lv.1 attribute limit; the “+” control remains available. |
| Strength: 20 → 21 | 36 | Breaks the Lv.1 attribute limit and confirms that the price remains 100 Rage Points per point. |
| Strength: 21 → 23 | 36 | Purchases two further points, meeting the approximate Strength requirement for thirty-six-stream Thunder Fist. |
| Agility: 19 → 24 | 42 | Invests in five Agility points before fighting Viper. Advanced Agility Enhancement raises the result to 33.6, exceeding Viper’s 32.4. |
| Agility: 24 → 30 | 46 | Spends 600 points from his accumulated reserves. |
| Strength: 23 → 26 | 46 | Spends another 300 points, then trains to familiarize himself with both increased attributes. |
Discovery
Fang Yuan first notices the unexplained Rage Points field after using Iris Data to inspect himself. His balance begins rising during an interaction with Han Youwei, leading him to wonder whether he can grow stronger by consuming anger 4 5.
He confirms an identifiable source while sparring with Han Youwei: Li Weilian watches angrily from below the platform, and Fang Yuan sees a faint, flame-like stream of energy pass from him into his own body. The resource’s purpose becomes clear during the subsequent fight with Daniel, when Fang Yuan discovers that spending it directly increases his attributes 7 8.
Mechanics
Anger Absorption
Rage Points accumulate from anger directed toward Fang Yuan, including irritation, resentment, jealousy, and humiliation 7 13 15 47.
- Visible feedback: Gains appear on his panel as increments such as a flaming “+1.” When closely observing Li Weilian, Fang Yuan can also see the incoming flame-like energy 5 7.
- Variable yield: The amount depends on both the source’s anger and their strength 25.
- Repeated contributions: One person can generate several successive gains without a new confrontation; Niu Dazhi’s prolonged resentment produces a continuing series of small increments 13.
- Multiple sources: More than a hundred angry classmates contribute simultaneously after Fang Yuan mocks their understanding of diminishing returns 18.
- Animal sources: The two stray cats visiting Fang Xiaozhu generate points when Fang Yuan teases them with food 31.
- No confrontation required: Boys watching Fang Yuan eat with Han Youwei generate points through their resentment before he addresses them 47.
Attribute Conversion
Fang Yuan spends Rage Points through “+” controls beside the four attributes on his status panel 8.
- Exchange rate: Each demonstrated attribute increase costs 100 Rage Points for +1 point 8 22 25 36 46.
- Immediate effect: The purchased increase takes effect during ongoing fights and competitions 8 16 25 42.
- Base-stat increase: Enhancement abilities apply to the new base value. Raising base Agility to 24, for example, produces 33.6 Agility under a 40% enhancement 42.
- Flexible allocation: Points can be saved rather than spent immediately. Fang Yuan deliberately keeps a reserve so he can choose which attribute to improve later 13.
- Beyond ordinary limits: Strength rises above the conventional Lv.1 limit of 20 without any increase in the Rage Point cost 36.
Limits and Training Requirements
- No Star Power leveling: Rage Points raise the four attributes but cannot increase Fang Yuan’s Star Power level. He must still cultivate Star Power normally 26.
- Adaptation is necessary: His body is initially unaccustomed to purchased increases. Training develops the muscle memory needed to use the stronger attributes effectively 26 46.
- Attributes remain separate: Raising Strength does not automatically give him enough Constitution to withstand Thunder Fist’s recoil; his hand remains painful after using the technique 38 44.
- Sources can stop yielding: The three street thugs eventually cease producing points despite further attempts to provoke them 27.
Documented Sources and Yields
| Source or Incident | Documented Yield | Details |
|---|---|---|
| First observed accumulation | 12 points | Appears during Fang Yuan’s interaction with Han Youwei; he initially remains uncertain about its source 5. |
| Fang Zhenguo | 50 points | His anger at Fang Yuan produces increments of five 6. |
| Li Weilian watching the spar | Balance reaches 412 | Gains escalate from increments of three to five and then ten as Fang Yuan’s contact with Han Youwei provokes him 7. |
| Little Fat Dragon | Successive gains of 10, 20, and 20 | Fang Yuan spits cola on the concealed investigator, kicks a stone into his forehead, and steps on his foot 9. |
| Li Weilian after arm-wrestling | Three gains of 50 | Defeat and Fang Yuan’s subsequent mockery bring the balance to 445 after an earlier 100-point expenditure 17. |
| Track team | 72 points from one remark | Fang Yuan mocks their lack of championships; several members contribute increments of three and five 24. |
| Three street thugs | 215 points total | Fang Yuan repeatedly provokes and beats them until their contributions stop 27. |
| Stray cats | Increments of 1 and 3 | Establishes that animals can supply Rage Points 31. |
| Qinglang and his gang | 380 points total | Their defeat raises Fang Yuan’s balance to 450 37. |
| Warehouse killings | 910 points total | The dying thugs yield roughly 70–80 points each amid their fear and fury; Fang Yuan notes that anger at death is much stronger than usual 44. |
Strategic Uses
- Reactive counter-building: Fang Yuan saves points until he knows what a contest requires, then purchases the relevant attribute during the encounter 13 16 25.
- Overcoming diminishing returns: Ordinary training becomes progressively less effective near an attribute’s level limit. Rage Point purchases allow him to reach and exceed that threshold directly 18 36.
- Improving reconnaissance: Spirit purchases strengthen Iris Data’s readings when combined with Advanced Spirit Enhancement 22.
- Unlocking martial techniques: Raising Strength to 23 enables Fang Yuan to perform thirty-six-stream Thunder Fist while still a Lv.1 Awakener 36.
- Prioritizing survival: Against Viper, he rejects Strength, Constitution, and Spirit investments in favor of Agility, calculating that enhanced speed will let him evade the stronger opponent 42.
- Efficient training allocation: After the warehouse battle, he considers training his comparatively low Constitution first and saving purchased increases for when diminishing returns become significant 44.
Source Misidentification
- Han Youwei is not the confirmed source of the gains associated with their training. Fang Yuan initially suspects that her pleasant expression conceals anger, but later identifies Li Weilian’s jealousy as a source. He explicitly acknowledges that he has received no Rage Points from Han Youwei herself 6 7 18 32.
- “A demon that devours anger” is Fang Yuan’s comparison for the ability, not an established species or transformation 5 7 13.
