Strength 26; Agility 30; Constitution 16; Spirit 20 46 From a recorded base of Strength 23, Agility 24, Constitution 15, and Spirit 20, spends 900 Rage Points on Strength and Agility, then trains Constitution to 16.
Copied abilities successfully stored 48 Confirms that the borrowed Star Power watch can preserve ability-bearing energy, allowing him to recover Advanced Agility Enhancement after copying another trait.

Background / History

Fang Yuan grew up familiar with the Thunder Martial Arts Gym, which belonged to his father’s former army comrade Wang Hongjun. Fang Zhenguo taught him military hand-to-hand combat, and Fang Yuan frequently visited the gym as a child 6 9.

Although academically successful, Fang Yuan initially ranked near the bottom of his honors class in martial arts. His sister’s hospitalization of more than a year had drained the family’s savings, making the resource-intensive martial track difficult to justify. He planned to study Star Power technology with corporate tuition sponsorship, earn money, and pursue martial arts afterward 2 6 14.

After discovering his Rage Point system, he reconsidered that plan. His improving attributes made the super soldier route viable, though he retained an interest in contributing to Yang Yuping’s research 20 32.

Personality

Fang Yuan is mischievous, argumentative, and quick to turn a confrontation into a joke. He talks back even to teachers who recognize his academic ability. Once he understands Rage Points, he deliberately provokes classmates and opponents, treating their anger as a resource for becoming stronger 1 14 18 24.

His concern for his family shapes both his financial decisions and his pursuit of power. He covers his injured father’s shifts, regularly visits Xiaozhu, and investigates threats against her. Although he initially limits himself to beating Qinglang’s gang, Xiaozhu’s abduction changes his willingness to use lethal force: he kills Qinglang and the remaining warehouse thugs rather than risk another attack 6 12 41 44.

He also approaches cultivation analytically. He researches unfamiliar traits, distinguishes temporary enhancement from base attributes, and recognizes that purchased attributes still require physical adaptation through training 4 23 26.

Abilities & Skills

Iris Data

An ocular ability expressed by channeling Star Power into his pupils 4.

  • Displays status panels for ordinary people and Awakeners, including attributes, traits, and skills 4.
  • Reveals his own Rage Point total, a field absent from other people’s panels 4.
  • Can expose the position of a concealed target through their visible panel, as demonstrated against Little Fat Dragon 9.
  • Information becomes incomplete when the target’s Spirit exceeds his own; sufficiently resistant targets appear largely or entirely as question marks 4 12 20.
  • Temporary Spirit enhancement can improve the information he obtains 46.

Rage Point System

A function associated with his unknown trait that converts others’ anger into permanent attribute increases 4 8.

  • Attribute conversion: Each point of Strength, Agility, Constitution, or Spirit costs 100 Rage Points 8 26.
  • Limit-breaking: The cost remains unchanged when an attribute exceeds the nominal limit for his Star Power level 36.
  • Sources: Both humans and animals can generate points; he obtains them through provocation, jealousy, combat, and fear-driven anger 7 18 31 44.
  • Cultivation restriction: Rage Points cannot directly increase his Star Power level 26.
  • Adaptation requirement: His body needs training to develop muscle memory and properly use newly increased attributes 26.
  • Early misunderstanding: He initially attributes gains around Han Youwei to her anger, but later recognizes Li Weilian’s jealousy as a recurring source 5 7 18 32.

Superpower Mimicry

A Star Slot Trait obtained by absorbing the remaining energy of the Triangular Star Core 12.

  • Copies another Awakener’s ability; physical contact is explicitly used when he acquires Night Walker 48.
  • Holds only one copied ability at a time. Copying a replacement normally discards the previous one 47.
  • Can copy an ability from trait-bearing Star Power released by a storage device, providing a way to recover saved abilities 48.
Documented copied ability Source Effect / Application
Strength Enhancement Wu Kui Increases Strength by 20%; used in the arm-wrestling contests 15 16.
Advanced Spirit Enhancement School librarian Increases Spirit by 40%, improving his ability to inspect resistant targets 22 46.
Advanced Agility Enhancement Track team member Increases Agility by 40%; supports racing, combat, and cultivation 24 25 30.
Static Electricity Control Han Youwei Briefly reproduced during his successful storage-device experiment 48.
Night Walker A student on campus Covers his body with Star Power for concealment in darkness or dim surroundings 48 49.

Thunder Fist

A Star Power martial technique taught to him by Wang Hongjun, built around 108 circulation routes 34 35.

  • Demonstrates the eighteen-stream version on his first attempt, then progresses from separate circulation to simultaneous release 35 36.
  • Uses the thirty-six-stream version in the warehouse confrontation 42.
  • Defeats the Lv.2 Qinglang with one punch during their first confrontation; later kills Viper with a single Thunder Fist 37 38 44.
  • Powerful recoil leaves his hand numb and his finger bones painful. His Constitution of 14 limits repeated use 38 44.
  • Recognizes increased Constitution as a possible means of withstanding greater recoil, rather than assuming Strength alone is sufficient 38.

Combat, Movement, and Cultivation

  • Military Physical Combat Technique Lv.2: Part of his initial skill set, with recorded proficiency reaching 92/100 3 36.
  • Gliding Step Lv.2: Used to evade Qinglang’s claws and frustrate Viper with repeated changes of direction 7 37 43.
  • Parkour Lv.0: Appears on his panel after rooftop pursuit and wall-vaulting; its recorded level indicates he has not mastered the basics 27 36.
  • Star Power cultivation: Uses Yang Yuping’s model alongside exercise and copied enhancement abilities; cultivation remains necessary to advance his Star Power level 20 23 26.
  • Night Walker limitations: Fast movement reveals a moving shadow, while footsteps remain audible despite visual concealment 49.

Equipment / Weapons / Items

  • Triangular Star Core — Absorbs its final remaining trait, Superpower Mimicry, then hides the emptied core inside a conical sculpture in the school library to keep it from the Spear of God 11 12.
  • Watch-shaped Star Power storage device — Borrowed from Han Youwei in exchange for lessons. Worth approximately one million yuan, it preserves ability-bearing Star Power for later copying 47 48.
  • Ankle weights — Supplied by Wei Hailong for weighted running; removing them allows Fang Yuan to overtake Lei Minghao 23 25.
  • Qinglang’s pistol — Seized after a sniper shoots off Qinglang’s arm; used to kill Qinglang 44.
  • Phone watch purchased for Xiaozhu — Provides calls, location tracking, and heart-rate monitoring as a precaution against the threat to the family 31.

Relationships

  • Fang Xiaozhu — Younger sister and a central motivation for his financial and martial ambitions. He regularly visits her in hospital, investigates her illness, and becomes willing to kill after her abduction 5 31 41 44.
  • Fang Zhenguo — Father and early combat teacher. Their habitual bickering coexists with cooperation over the Triangular Star Core and the investigation into Wei Hailong 6 10 11 50.
  • Li Shuhua — Mother, a tailor whose income supports both children’s needs. She backs Fang Yuan’s decision to cover his father’s shifts; father and son initially conceal the Spear of God threat from her 6 21.
  • Han Youwei — Classmate and regular sparring partner. He helps develop her Static Electricity Control, while she assists Xiaozhu and lends him her family’s Star Power storage device 5 7 46 48.
  • Wang Hongjun — Family acquaintance, gym employer, and Thunder Fist teacher. Impressed by Fang Yuan’s progress, he hopes Fang Yuan will eventually provide the strength and reputation needed to protect the gym 9 34 35.
  • Wei Hailong — Martial arts instructor and cultivation adviser whom Fang Yuan mistakenly suspects of serving the Spear of God. Verification of his naval identity turns their confrontation into cooperation 23 39 50.
  • Li Weilian — Rival whose jealousy repeatedly supplies Rage Points. He arranges Daniel’s attack and later pays Qinglang 200,000 yuan to cripple Fang Yuan 8 14 32 34.
  • Little Fat Dragon — Detective initially hired to investigate Fang Yuan’s family. Fang Yuan turns him into an information contact and uses their dealings to control disclosures and obtain advance warning of threats 9 10 39.
  • Qinglang — Gang leader who escalates a failed attack into Xiaozhu’s abduction. Fang Yuan kills him after deciding that another act of mercy would endanger his sister 37 41 44.
  • Niu Dazhi / Beef Meatball — Classmate and frequent target of teasing; his lost chicken wings help draw Fang Yuan into the contest against Wu Kui 7 14.

Story Role / Major Arcs

Awakening and the Triangular Star Core

Fang Yuan’s school test identifies Unknown Trait A20392 rather than a recognized ability. Laboratory testing reveals Iris Data, and a difficult gym match against Daniel exposes the Rage Point system’s attribute-purchasing function. After catching Little Fat Dragon investigating his family, Fang Yuan learns of the hidden Triangular Star Core and the Spear of God’s interest in it. He absorbs its remaining energy and conceals the empty core at school 3 4 8 9 11 12.

From Academic Prospect to Super Soldier Candidate

Victories over Wu Kui and Li Weilian reveal how rapidly Fang Yuan’s abilities are improving. He begins cultivating with Wei Hailong’s guidance, defeats members of the track team, and benefits from an unidentified customer who pays for all his gym sessions without appearing. The resulting free time lets him cultivate while earning unusually high coaching fees 15 16 23 24 25 30.

Wang Hongjun subsequently teaches him Thunder Fist. Fang Yuan’s rapid mastery surprises his teacher, while his own experiments prove that Rage Points can push base attributes beyond the expected Lv.1 limit 34 35 36.

Qinglang’s Retaliation

After Fang Yuan defeats Qinglang and his gang, Qinglang retaliates by abducting Xiaozhu. Fang Yuan finds her discarded phone watch at the hospital but follows the gray stray cat rather than Qinglang’s directions. The cat leads him to his unconscious sister, whom he returns to medical care before heading to the warehouse 37 40 41.

At the warehouse, Fang Yuan fights Qinglang and Viper. He kills Viper with Thunder Fist, then seizes Qinglang’s pistol after an unidentified sniper intervenes. Deciding that Qinglang’s attack on Xiaozhu cannot be forgiven, he kills him and the remaining thugs, gaining 910 Rage Points 42 43 44.

Awakening Inducer Investigation

Xiaozhu’s condition worsens after her rescue. Fang Yuan suspects that she has been given an Awakening Inducer and increasingly focuses on Wei Hailong’s suspicious activities. He strengthens his attributes, borrows Han Youwei’s storage device, and successfully develops a method for preserving copied abilities 44 46 47 48.

Using Night Walker, he infiltrates Wei Hailong’s residence and confronts him. Fang Zhenguo’s verification establishes that Wei is a Huaxia Navy officer investigating the Spear of God, not an enemy agent. Realizing the actual operative may still be at the hospital, Fang Yuan rushes there with Wei while his father fails to answer his warning call 49 50.
