Background

Shi Hao reincarnated into the demon-haunted world of Strange Tales from a Chinese Studio. Born into one of Guobei County’s wealthy clans, he enjoyed the protection of an influential household: his father, Shi Wenjun, was a scholar and clan patriarch, while his grandfather, Shi Juncai, had been a provincial graduate. Shi Juncai died a year or two after Shi Hao’s birth 1.

By his third birthday, Shi Hao had used the Beast Milk System to perfect Arhat Fist. He concealed his extraordinary strength because a visibly superhuman toddler might be mistaken for a demon. He also allowed the servants Zhang San and Zhang Si to accompany him to reassure his parents 1 2.

His invitation to the Myriad Worlds Chat Group introduced him under the name Desolate Heaven Emperor. Although Shi Hao initially denied the identification, group leader Li Xiang insisted that he was the future emperor. Shi Hao recognized the mistake and eventually adopted the persona to obtain milk and cultivation manuals 2 9 14.

Appearance

  • Build: A small, adorable-looking child, approximately one meter tall at three years old 31.
  • Outward impression: Even after becoming a Martial Dao Human Immortal, he appeared to the tree demon as an ordinary toddler of three or four 44.

Personality

Shi Hao is pragmatic and calculating about his advancement. He privately recognizes Great Immortal Li as a charlatan while benefiting from the group leader’s promotion of his supposed future greatness. His claims about Stone Village, its children, and its village chief are part of his adopted persona rather than his actual upbringing 9 14 19 45.

He is protective of his family and prefers relying on his own strength to trusting outside exorcists. He killed the fox spirit near his mother without hesitation, then immediately prepared for retaliation. His stated principle is to leave others alone unless provoked, but to kill those who threaten him 18 19 40.

His confidence rises sharply with each breakthrough, but new information can temper it. After initially believing himself nearly invincible, he learned that true immortals and an Upper Realm still existed and acknowledged that his current power was insufficient 42 44.

Despite his adult memories and overwhelming strength, his attachment to Tang Wanying is genuine. He regards her as his mother and weeps bitterly upon discovering her death 50.

Abilities & Skills

Beast Milk System

Converts consumed beast milk into skill points that Shi Hao can spend to improve cultivation methods and skills 1.

  • Milk quality and quantity: Both affect point accumulation. Ordinary cow’s or goat’s milk requires dozens of jin to produce a single point 1 9.
  • Manual registration: Reading a complete manual adds its technique to the system panel 5 23 50.
  • Instant advancement: Point expenditure grants mastery immediately; perfecting Eight Heavenly Blade Techniques also supplied Song Que’s accumulated cultivation insights 5 19.
  • Point requirements: Unmastered techniques can remain unavailable for improvement until he has enough points 23 28.
  • Reserve: By Chapter 50, he had accumulated 6,101 unspent points, choosing to wait rather than improve the Mount Shu methods 50.

Northern Darkness Divine Art

Wuyazi’s martial art provides Shi Hao with Innate True Qi and reaches Great Perfection through system upgrades 5 9.

  • Projects True Qi capable of piercing the ground and attacking enemies dozens of meters away 9.
  • Helps him process enormous quantities of milk 8.
  • Its suction, combined with a large wooden straw, lets him drink milk two to three times faster 40.

Eight Heavenly Blade Techniques

Song Que’s inheritance contains blade techniques and martial cultivation insights, carrying Shi Hao to Supreme Grandmaster 15 19.

  • Grants Innate Gang Qi, capable of shattering steel, and spiritual will that can manifest to intimidate or attack 15.
  • Shi Hao secretly combines Gang Qi and spiritual will to kill the little fox spirit in his arms 17.
  • Great Perfection includes the tenth strike, despite the technique’s name 19.
  • Unity of Heaven and Man allows him to borrow a small amount of the power of heaven and earth 19.

Buddha’s Palm

Gu Jianfei’s high-martial inheritance becomes Shi Hao’s principal means of advancing beyond Supreme Grandmaster 23 30 42.

  • Ten Thousand Buddhas Pay Homage: The ninth form; Shi Hao uses it to blast through a small hill 31.
  • Heat: At Martial Saint, his blood reaches roughly 1,000–2,000 degrees, while palm attacks carry heat of several thousand degrees 30 31.
  • Destructive force: At Peak Martial Saint, he destroys more than half a small mountain during practice 37.
  • Great Perfection: Unlocks Unity of Buddha and Self, taking him beyond Martial Saint into the realm he calls Martial Dao Human Immortal 42.

Physical Control, Flight, and Perception

  • Bodily control: At Grandmaster, he can precisely assess and control his own strength 15.
  • Durability: By Peak Martial Saint, his body is described as many times harder than steel 37.
  • Flight: Can hover at Supreme Grandmaster and fly at several times the speed of sound at Peak Martial Saint 37.
  • Aerial limitation: His fighting power is lower in the air because he lacks a surface to push against 37.
  • Perception: As a Martial Dao Human Immortal, he can sense bodies and search his surroundings for abnormalities 50.
  • Power ceiling: “Human Immortal” does not make him equal to a true immortal. He acknowledges that immortals capable of moving mountains and filling seas remain vastly stronger 44 50.

Uncultivated Inheritances

Technique Source Documented status
Taijiquan Zhang Sanfeng Remains uninitiated; Shi Hao later considers upgrading it a waste of points at his current strength 35 47.
One Sword Opens Heaven’s Gate Li Chungang Received as a group file; remains uninitiated 35 37 47.
Mount Shu True Transmission Sword Control Technique Jiu Jianxian Registered but not cultivated; Shi Hao declines to spend points on it 47.
Mount Shu Qi Cultivation Immortality Art Jiu Jianxian Registered but uninitiated. Shi Hao accepts that it can produce immortals stronger than himself, but considers its eventual power too limited 50.

Equipment & Resources

  • Milk gourd: Holds the goat milk he carries with him early in the story 1.
  • Large wooden straw: A self-made drinking aid used with Northern Darkness Divine Art’s suction 40.
  • Chat-group storage: Stores bulk milk shipments and unfinished containers 8 28.
  • Chat-group appraisal: Used to check incoming milk gifts before accepting them 19.
  • Three-colored deer: Kept by the Shi household; Shi Hao particularly values its milk and does not consider it a threat 9 17.

Relationships

  • Tang Wanying — Mother. Protective of his safety and unaware of his true strength; her accidental death devastates him 1 12 50.
  • Shi Wenjun — Father and Shi clan patriarch. Seeks outside protection against demons while Shi Hao secretly relies on his own cultivation 1 19 31.
  • Zhang San and Zhang Si — Household servants assigned to watch him. Shi Hao tolerates their supervision to reassure his parents 2 12.
  • Li Xiang / Great Immortal Li — Chat-group leader and major milk supplier. Invests in Shi Hao expecting a future Heavenly God Fruit; Shi Hao sees through his pretensions but comes to appreciate his genuine kindness 2 3 7 50.
  • Xiongba — Major milk supplier. Attempts to obtain Buddha’s Palm in exchange for regular shipments, then apologizes after being muted and sends over 50,000 jin of milk 23 27.
  • Wuyazi — Source of Northern Darkness Divine Art, which enables Shi Hao’s first documented realm breakthrough 5.
  • Song Que — Passes on Eight Heavenly Blade Techniques; its perfected inheritance brings Shi Hao to Supreme Grandmaster 15 19.
  • Gu Jianfei — Passes on Buddha’s Palm, the foundation of Shi Hao’s Martial Saint and Human Immortal advancement 23 30 37.
  • Guo Jing — Supplies five or six thousand jin of milk, yielding 61 skill points 18.
  • Ying Zheng / First Emperor — Supplies large quantities of milk and becomes someone Shi Hao repeatedly approaches for more 40 47.
  • Jiu Jianxian — Offers Mount Shu inheritances. Shi Hao grieves his loss but chooses not to cultivate the methods he left behind 44 47 50.

Story Role / Major Arcs

Exploiting the Chat-Group Misidentification

Li Xiang’s belief that Shi Hao will become the Desolate Heaven Emperor attracts gifts from other members. Shi Hao initially denies the title, then deliberately maintains the misunderstanding. He avoids some potentially profitable trades because openly seeking ordinary martial arts would undermine the identity he is performing 2 9 23.

The group’s milk shipments fuel his rapid progression. Li Xiang spends his savings on an early 10,000-jin delivery, while Xiongba and later Ying Zheng provide increasingly large supplies. Shi Hao eventually drinks 170,000–180,000 jin over two days while saving points for a stronger inheritance 7 19 40 47.

Fox-Spirit Retaliation

Shi Hao kills Yun Meng, a fox spirit brought into the household, because he fears for his mother’s safety. Expecting her relatives to retaliate, he urgently raises Eight Heavenly Blade Techniques to Great Perfection 17 18 19.

After the deaths of her daughters, Great Fairy Yun attacks the Shi residence. Shi Hao destroys her body with Buddha’s Palm, but her injured primordial spirit escapes into a yellow dog. Han Erlengzi later kills the possessed dog, ending her life 34 35.

The attack leaves household servants dead, including the maid who regularly called Shi Hao to meals. Distressed by the losses, he resolves to strengthen himself further while continuing to conceal his role as the household’s defender 34.

Lanruo Temple and the Upper Realm

After perfecting Buddha’s Palm, Shi Hao visits Lanruo Temple intending to eliminate its tree demon before it can kill more travelers. He finds the temple filled with dried corpses and destroys more than half of it with a palm strike 42.

He interrogates and kills the seven-hundred-year-old tree demon, learning that the world still contains true immortals and remains connected to an Upper Realm. This discovery overturns his assumption that becoming a Martial Dao Human Immortal has made him invincible 44.

Tang Wanying’s Death

While Shi Hao is saving points rather than cultivating the Mount Shu inheritances, Zhang San brings news that Tang Wanying has been struck by a falling roof tile. Shi Hao initially suspects demonic retaliation and races to his maternal grandparents’ home 50.

He senses her corpse, searches the area, and questions Shi Wenjun. Finding no supernatural interference, he learns that her death was an accident and is left grieving despite his extraordinary power 50.
