Background / History

Gu Yuena is the Silver Dragon King and half of the Dragon God. Before her awakening, she remained concealed beneath Life Lake in the Star Dou Great Forest while recovering from severe injuries. Her original planned transformation into a human, amnesia, and eventual meeting with Tang Wulin are described as a scheme orchestrated by Tang Hao, the Plane Master. 122

When Chen Yu came to the Star Dou Great Forest and demanded that the Soul Beast clan submit or be exterminated, Gu Yuena awakened from beneath the dried Life Lake. Though she retained less than one-tenth of her cultivation and recognized Chen Yu as a true god with a self-created divine position, she assessed the situation calmly rather than immediately fighting. 123

Gu Yuena overruled Di Tian's objections and negotiated terms for the Soul Beast clan's survival. She accepted a contract requiring the clan's submission to humanity in exchange for a minor plane where Soul Beasts could rebuild, provided humans would cease indiscriminate slaughter of Soul Beasts. 124 125

Chen Yu used the Contract Scroll's hidden power to heal Gu Yuena's injuries before opening a Space Rift to the Fifth Minor Plane. 126

She inspected the Fifth Minor Plane and found its ecological environment and life aura suitable, though its resources were limited and its territory was smaller than the historical Star Dou Great Forest. When she attempted to refine the plane and claim its core laws, she discovered that Chen Yu had retained ownership; the Soul Beast clan had only the right to reside there. 126 127

Believing the contract could be broken once she recovered, Gu Yuena chose patience and instructed the Soul Beasts to endure, gather strength, and migrate into the new plane. Unknown to her, Chen Yu later elevated the contract's power while concealing the change from the Soul Beast clan. 127 128

After the submission stripped Shrek Academy of its remaining role in human–Soul Beast relations, Gu Yuena sought direct exposure to human society by becoming Chen Yu's personal secretary. She rejected training under Pan Wen, considering him an “ordinary human,” and insisted on learning from Chen Yu himself. 130 131

Gu Yuena later advanced through the Federal Council's hierarchy by her own ability and became Chen Yu's chief secretary. While Chen Yu was absent, Di Tian proposed taking advantage of the weakened God Realm to seize the Federation. Gu Yuena rejected the plan, citing Chen Yu's godhood, her incomplete recovery, and the backlash imposed by the Soul Beast contract. 186

Chen Yu later revealed that he had heard Gu Yuena and Di Tian's earlier conversation despite the interference caused by Gu Yuena's power. He used Di Tian's failure to eliminate the escaped Clear Sky Sect as the basis for removing him. Gu Yuena realized that Chen Yu had discovered their intentions but could only remain silent. 195

When Chen Yu created the New God Realm, Gu Yuena watched its radiance shine into the Fifth Minor Plane. The event made her realize that Chen Yu had reached a level comparable to the Dragon God's achievement in creating a God Realm. She expects absolute authority from her subjects. When Di Tian challenged her decision to submit, she silenced him and declared that her decisions were not his to dispute. 124

Although she initially looks down on humans, Gu Yuena recognizes that understanding them is necessary for the Soul Beasts' future. Her decision to serve as Chen Yu's secretary comes from her determination to study the strongest human in the plane directly. 130

Gu Yuena resents Chen Yu's belief that human lives outweigh Soul Beast lives, particularly when he requires Soul Beasts to assist against the Demon Plane invasion. At the same time, she is drawn to his decisiveness, conviction, and willingness to shoulder responsibility. 134

Her acceptance of Chen Yu's lethal restriction demonstrates the extent to which the Soul Beast clan's dependence on him has constrained her choices.
