Biography
Early Life
Chen Yu was born into extreme poverty, an orphan from a slum with no background or connections. From a young age, he relied solely on his fists and relentless determination to survive and climb the social ladder in the Sun Moon Federation. His martial soul was his own body, granting him extraordinary physical resilience—his body was as hard as a four-word battle armor, making him virtually immune to blades and conventional attacks. This unique martial soul, combined with his unyielding will, allowed him to rise from destitution to become a publicly recognized peak quasi-god, one of only three such beings on the Douluo Continent at the time alongside Sky-Propping Douluo Yun Ming and Vast Sea Douluo Chen Xinjie 1 6 7 8 26.
His early struggles shaped his worldview and political philosophy. He had to fight for every resource, and he developed a deep disdain for hereditary privilege and entrenched aristocratic power. This background fueled his later policies aimed at breaking the monopolies of ancient families and institutions that he viewed as parasites exploiting the Federation's resources 8 15 17 26.
Chen Yu eventually became Commander Huang’s disciple. Commander Huang was an elder-generation leader of the Body Sect, making Chen Yu a senior brother to the sect’s disciples, including Hu Jie. After Huang’s death, Chen Yu became Body Sect leader and supported the sect with resources, connections, and opportunities. When he later entered the contest for Federation Council Chairman, he transferred the sect leadership to Mu Ye 190.
Unknown to the wider continent, Chen Yu discovered a broken plane in his youth. By refining this damaged world and exploiting resources beyond the Douluo Plane, he established the foundation for a cultivation path independent of the conventional martial soul, soul ring, and soul skill system 124. This hidden extraterrestrial foundation later supported both his godhood and the Federation’s advanced soul-tool research 124 125.
Rise to Power
Chen Yu’s ascent to the position of Federation Council Chairman was hard-won. After entering the military, he relied on his overwhelming strength and strategic acumen to forcibly subdue the Eight Great Legions of the Federation, turning them into instruments of his will 8 26. More than forty years before the events of his confrontation with Shrek Academy, he had only just become Speaker. At that time, the Federation was unstable: the Eight Great Legions acted in their own interests, the major clans were deeply entrenched, and the three major powers—the Spirit Pagoda, Shrek Academy, and the War God Temple—were locked in open and secret struggles. The entire Douluo Continent was a powder keg 26.
Chen Yu consolidated power methodically, using a combination of raw force and political maneuvering. He purged turncoats from the military and refused to rename a Federation legion to the Sea God Legion, demonstrating his refusal to bow to traditional powers 26. He built a loyal following among the common-born soldiers and officers, such as Central Legion Commander Yu Guanzhi, a rank-99 Limit Douluo and three-star General who showed unwavering obedience 8 19 24. Chen Yu improved the living conditions and treatment of ordinary soldiers, earning their gratitude and fierce loyalty—soldiers expressed willingness to die for him because he had given them dignity and fair treatment 19.
His power was not merely political; although the public believed him to be a peak quasi-god, Chen Yu had secretly entered the realm of deity long before his divinity became known to the continent 4 12. When he fought Yun Ming—a fellow publicly recognized peak quasi-god—a decade before the main conflict, Chen Yu defeated him without even using battle armor, his physical body already harder than a four-word battle armor. This gap in strength could not be bridged by connections or allies 7.
Chen Yu retained control through an iron fist, military support, public accomplishments, and popular backing. He regarded disloyal councilors and officials as replaceable, believing that any official who obstructed Federation policy could be replaced by loyal newcomers 93. His later seizure of the Skysea Alliance’s sovereignty demonstrated that, when his intelligence and force were sufficient, he considered elaborate political schemes unnecessary 96.
The Broken Engagement
The central personal relationship that defined Chen Yu's early adulthood was his engagement to Ya Li, the Holy Spirit Douluo and the Federation's number one healing-type soul master. Chen Yu and Ya Li had emerged from the same slum, and he initially regarded her as a younger sister whom he needed to protect. Their engagement began when Ya Li volunteered to marry him so that his dying master, Commander Huang, could see his disciple settled; she later affirmed that she wanted to remain with him 1 2.
Chen Yu cultivated desperately, vying for power and moving step by step with careful calculation from an orphan to the Federation Council Chairman. He ensured that Ya Li had enough resources to cultivate and replenish the vitality she lost when using her Prayer Angel power. He even borrowed the Yu Family’s divine artifact, Life Praise, to prevent the depletion of her life origin, and financed a massive annual propaganda effort that gathered faith power for her 1 2. He effectively held up the sky for her, allowing her to live freely without being oppressed by the weight of “Federation investment” 1.
However, the relationship soured as Ya Li came to take Chen Yu's unconditional support for granted. She treated his resources as her own entitlement, and when Chen Yu sensed that she had lost her way—prioritizing her own image and faith-gathering propaganda over genuine service—he grew disillusioned 4. The breaking point came when Ya Li told him she wished to end their engagement because Yun Ming could accompany her and make her feel alive in ways Chen Yu’s long seclusions could not 1. In response, Chen Yu decided to demand repayment of all the resources Ya Li had used over thirty years. His calculation showed that Ya Li's expenses—including rare treasures and a massive annual propaganda budget to promote her deeds and gather faith power—totaled more than two hundred years of Shrek Academy's savings 2 4 5.
He ordered Secretary-General Pan Wen to list every resource Ya Li had used since becoming his fiancée, and then sent his driver to refuse her service, revoked all her privileges by Federation approval—even intercepting her flight over Ming Capital with a squadron of mechs. Pan Wen delivered a stack of papers with the expenses to Yun Ming at Shrek Academy, demanding payment within a week 2 3 4 5.
Ya Li was hurt and betrayed by his action, but Chen Yu remained resolute. He saw her as a symbol of the privileges he wished to dismantle, and the broken engagement became the catalyst for his broader campaign against the old powers 1 2 34.
After losing her former privileges, Ya Li could no longer enter the Ming Capital Parliament Building without an appointment, despite guards recognizing her identity 58. When she attempted to force her way in, three Super Douluo in four-word battle armor and a mech squad intercepted her 59. Chen Yu’s removal of her faith-gathering statues, factories, propaganda, and related support also severed Yun Ming’s intended route to godhood through Ya Li’s faith power 56 58.
Ya Li later awoke from a coma in a crippled and aged state. Upon learning that Chen Yu had become a god and that Yun Ming was ruined, she attempted to return to Chen Yu, only to suffer a public breakdown after seeing how unrecognizable she had become 117 118 119.
War with Shrek Academy
The broken engagement escalated into a full-scale political and military confrontation with Shrek Academy, the continent's premier institution for ten thousand years. Chen Yu viewed Shrek Academy as a parasitical entity that had exploited Federation resources for twenty thousand years without fulfilling its responsibility to eliminate threats like the Holy Spirit Cult 6 7.
Canceling Resource Support: Chen Yu proposed to the Federation Council canceling all resource support for Shrek Academy due to its inability to eradicate the Holy Spirit Cult. Despite fierce opposition from council members aligned with Shrek and noble families, Chen Yu used his veto power and emergency executive orders to forcibly pass the proposal. The news shook the entire continent within half a day 6 7.
Demand for Repayment: He demanded that Shrek Academy repay the resources used by Ya Li, branding Yun Ming's decision to take on the debt as foolish. When the Sea God Pavilion elders balked, Yun Ming eventually agreed to pay, but the cost was crippling—two hundred years of Shrek's savings 4 5.
Confrontation with the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan: When noble families and sects—including the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan and the Nine Treasure Glazed Tile Sect—demanded Chen Yu withdraw his proposal and apologize to Shrek, Chen Yu ordered the Central Legion to surround the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan's estate. He then dispatched an army to trample the entire family, eradicating an ancient clan that had stood for over ten thousand years 8 17 22.
Mobilization of Legions: Chen Yu ordered the mobilization of seven major legions to surround Shrek City, preparing for potential resistance and demonstrating his overwhelming military power. The Eight Great Legions remained loyal to him, and the soldiers celebrated his leadership 19 22 23.
Exposure of Tang Sect Treason: Chen Yu revealed evidence that the Tang Sect—a close ally of Shrek Academy—had secretly supported the Star Luo Empire and Dou Ling Empire, enemy states of the Federation. The Federation Council voted to investigate the Tang Sect, freeze its assets, and arrest involved personnel. Public outrage turned against the Tang Sect 15 16.
Destruction of Tang Sect: Chen Yu led the Federation army to search the Tang Sect within Shrek City, ordering the arrest of all Tang Sect members and authorizing lethal force against anyone who obstructed. When the Tang Sect's Sect Master, Zang Xin (Amorous Douluo), resisted, Chen Yu personally defeated him, and the entire Tang Sect base was confiscated. Yun Ming was humiliated, unable to resist Chen Yu's calm contempt 31 34.
Death of Long Yeyue: During the conflict, Chen Yu killed Long Yeyue—a demigod powerhouse and Shrek Academy's Supreme Elder—with a single spear strike using a level-nine Soul Tool. This feat shocked all of Shrek Academy; even Yun Ming acknowledged that he could not achieve such a kill. The elders were left in disbelief, and their pride was shattered 12 17 39.
Purge of the War God Temple: Chen Yu seized sovereignty over the War God Temple, confronting Hall Master Chen Xinjie and exposing his collusion with Shrek Academy. He defeated Chen Xinjie with a single punch, declaring him guilty of betrayal. This severed one of Shrek Academy's key tentacles within the Federation 29 49. He also rooted out Deputy Hall Master Yue Guan, who was directly a man of Shrek Academy and a junior brother of Yun Ming 45.
Final Reckoning: Through consistent pressure, Chen Yu systematically dismantled the alliances propping up Shrek Academy. When asked why he did not simply destroy Shrek Academy outright, Chen Yu replied that what he intended to eliminate was not merely the institution, but “the Shrek in everyone's hearts”—the entrenched reverence for the old order 34. His actions left Yun Ming and the Shrek elders utterly humiliated and powerless, their pride crushed and their influence shattered 34 39.
Chen Yu later used evidence of Shrek’s embezzlement of Federation subsidies and student tuition to force a further reckoning. He killed Outer Court Dean Cai Yue'er, mutilated an elder who confronted him, and compelled Yun Ming to admit Shrek’s fault 70 71. He then ordered Shrek to refund current students’ tuition, using lethal pressure to force Yun Ming to sign an astronomical repayment agreement 71 72.
Chen Yu recruited five hundred disillusioned Shrek students on-site and transferred them to the Sun Moon Royal Soul Master Academy through long-range group teleportation 73. The threat of Level 12 Fixed Soul Tool Shells subsequently forced Shrek to yield further resources rather than risk Shrek City’s destruction 53.
Shrek’s remaining elders later attempted to revive the academy by manufacturing crises involving Chen Yu. They planned to reopen the sealed Demon Gate and create a demon invasion for which Shrek could claim credit, but their activities were detected through Federation surveillance 131 132 134.
After the academy’s effective collapse, Chen Yu reclaimed Shrek City’s independent tax, political, and administrative sovereignty for the Federation. He retained Shrek Academy only as a name and physical address, prohibiting enrollment and business solicitation in order to expose any remaining loyalists 148. By the time Sea God Island elders visited, the academy stood deserted, its statues neglected and its classrooms abandoned 155.
Yun Ming later attempted to recover and break through to godhood by absorbing the Golden Ancient Tree’s vitality with Ah Yin’s aid. Chen Yu monitored the development remotely, killed Ah Yin and erased her true body, then erased Yun Ming together with the entire Sea God Island in a single punch 162 163.
Expansion of Federation Sovereignty
Following the suppression of Shrek and its allied institutions, Chen Yu continued targeting entrenched powers whose wealth, influence, or autonomy conflicted with Federation control. He identified the resources held by Shrek Academy, the Tang Sect, the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan, the War God Temple, and other major sects as debts owed to the Federation 76.
He turned his attention to the Nine Treasure Glazed Tile Sect, using satellite surveillance and the sect’s connections to auction houses as grounds for investigation 78. The Federation subsequently sealed the Douluo Auction House, imprisoned implicated sect members, and incorporated the auction house into the Federation 86 87.
Chen Yu also ordered captured Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan members into dangerous factories and mines, while Tang Sect members were sent to guard the Abyss Passage or serve as expendable manpower for the Blood God Legion 86 89. He ordered public trials for illegal auction-house members and other sect disciples, transforming formerly privileged aristocrats into laborers under Federation authority 87 89.
When the Skysea Alliance attempted to preserve its autonomy, Chen Yu used staged Evil Soul Master attacks on the Hailan train and resulting public outrage to deploy the Central Legion and the three great navies across more than twenty alliance cities 93 94. The Federation blockaded ports, patrolled streets, assumed public-security authority, and ultimately took control of every Skysea Alliance city within a month 94 96.
Chen Yu also extended Federation sovereignty overseas. Following the Federation’s intervention in the Star Luo Empire, he renamed Star Luo City as Star Luo State, abolished the imperial system, and replaced it with a republican system under Federation authority. He ordered the former imperial palace demolished and replaced with a Parliament Building, while local aristocratic clans complied to preserve their own interests 194.
Destruction of the Holy Spirit Cult
Chen Yu eventually revealed that he knew the location of the Holy Spirit Cult’s Far North headquarters, information that even Pan Wen had not previously known 105. He used advanced soul-guided technology to unleash a sun-like descending light upon the cult’s base 108.
The attack annihilated the Holy Spirit Cult’s two emperors, four heavenly kings, and all remaining Evil Soul Masters, leaving no survivors and creating an enormous crater filled with molten rock 108. This eradication removed the threat that Chen Yu had long accused Shrek Academy of failing to address 6 7 108.
The weapon used against the cult was part of Chen Yu’s Sky-Based Weapon program. The Federation had developed the orbital weapon as a new strategic deterrent, and Chen Yu later confirmed that it had been used to wipe out the Holy Spirit Cult headquarters 101 173.
Attainment of Godhood and the Soul Beast Settlement
Chen Yu had already secretly stepped into the realm of deity while the wider continent continued to regard him as a peak quasi-god 4. His public revelation as a true god came during his confrontation with Zhuo Shi and the Clear Sky Sect’s god-level Clear Sky Hammer trump card. Vast golden-red blood energy engulfed Ming Capital, and Chen Yu shattered the seven-colored divine phantom before killing Zhuo Shi 112 114.
His godhood came through a self-created path that absorbed the methods of numerous planes and civilizations rather than inheriting a conventional divine position 124. His self-created divine rank initially lay between a third-tier god and a second-tier god; because he possessed complete mastery over the power he had built step by step, most second-tier gods could not defeat him 124.
After becoming publicly known as a god, Chen Yu visited the Spirit Pagoda and declared his intention to bring the Star Dou Great Forest under Federation jurisdiction 121. He confronted the Soul Beast clan, including Beast God Di Tian, and demanded their submission or extermination 122 123. His effortless dispersal of Di Tian’s attack and release of overwhelming blood energy established the immense gap between himself and the Soul Beasts 123 124.
Gu Yuena, the Silver Dragon King and leader of the Soul Beast race, accepted submission to preserve her people. In exchange, Chen Yu agreed to allocate a complete small plane to the Soul Beasts while incorporating the Star Dou Great Forest into the Federation 124 125. The agreement was sealed with the Book of Contract, initially carrying first-rank god-level power and binding both Chen Yu and Gu Yuena through blood essence 125.
Chen Yu concealed that he intended to reinforce the contract with Federation faith power and the origin power of shattered planes, potentially raising it to God King level and making rebellion fatal so long as humanity remained prosperous 125. He later opened a space rift to the Fifth Minor Plane, relocated the Soul Beast clan there, and explained that their preservation would improve Soul Spirit diversity and ultimately strengthen humanity 126.
Gu Yuena later left the Fifth Minor Plane to become Chen Yu’s personal secretary, seeking to understand human civilization directly from the Federation’s strongest ruler. Chen Yu accepted her despite suspecting that she might be pursuing hidden objectives for the Soul Beast race 130 131.
Life Core Incident
When Yun Ming and Ah Yin attempted to use the Golden Ancient Tree to restore Yun Ming and elevate him toward godhood, Chen Yu used his divine sense to observe the entire situation from afar 162. He considered the Golden Ancient Tree largely useless to himself despite its status as the Douluo Plane’s Life Core, but intervened because their actions endangered the plane’s ecological balance 162.
Chen Yu erased Ah Yin’s true body with a single punch, preventing any future revival 163. He then erased Yun Ming and Sea God Island, causing the Life Core’s status to fall and the plane’s vitality to begin dissipating. Chen Yu immediately seized and recondensed the Life Core status, considering whether to grant it to Leng Yaozhu or Leng Yulai 163.

| Peak Quasi-God | The highest publicly recognized mortal cultivation realm on the Douluo Plane before Chen Yu’s divinity was revealed, where one has touched the power of laws and can briefly replicate god-like abilities, but is still suppressed by the plane's will. Peak quasi-gods like Yun Ming, Chen Xinjie, and Zang Xin are considered the pinnacle of mortal power. | Defeated the Vast Sea Douluo Chen Xinjie with a single punch, blasting him into a coma despite Chen Xinjie being a peak quasi-god protected by a divine artifact. Later captured him with restraints. 30 Knocked out the Affectionate Douluo Zang Xin, Sect Master of the Tang Sect, with a single punch, incapacitating him instantly. 32 Obliterated a group of War Gods with a single punch, turning them into blood mist and leaving no bodies. 48 Killed three War Gods, including Li Wanjun and Guan Yue, with a single kick each. 47 |
| God | Chen Yu attained godhood through a path of proving the Dao through strength, created by integrating the essence of numerous planes and civilizations rather than relying on a traditional divine inheritance. His self-created divine realm lay between a third-tier god and a second-tier god; because he possessed complete mastery over his own power, most second-tier gods could not defeat him. 124 | Released golden-red blood energy that enveloped the sky and demonstrated divine might against Zhuo Shi’s god-level Clear Sky Hammer trump card. 112 Easily suppressed Di Tian, the nine-hundred-thousand-year Beast God, and forced the Soul Beast clan to negotiate submission. 122 123 124 Possesses sufficient hidden trump cards that, unless a God King intervened, ordinary gods were “nothing but an ant.” 124 |
| God King | By Chapter 162, Chen Yu’s comprehensive strength had reached the realm of a God King, surpassing the former level at which he viewed God Kings as the only meaningful threat among divine opponents. 124 162 | Monitored the entire Douluo Plane through divine sense and arrived above Shrek City in an instant. 162 Erased Ah Yin, Yun Ming, and Sea God Island, then recondensed the fallen Life Core status of the Douluo Plane. 163 His research into dedicated god-rank soul tools and Level 12 Fixed Soul Tool Shells remains aimed at developing god-slaying weaponry. 38 52 |

Abilities and Skills
Avatar Technique
Chen Yu developed a brand‑new technique by studying extraterrestrial objects and combining them with his own insights, drawing inspiration from the foundational skills of the Tang Sect from another world 31. This technique allows him to create an avatar that possesses one‑tenth of his own strength — enough to rival a powerhouse at the level of a God Official on the Douluo Plane 31. Using this avatar, Chen Yu can appear in two places at once, as demonstrated when his main body confronted Yun Ming outside Shrek City while his avatar simultaneously defeated Chen Xinjie, a peak quasi‑god, at Tianhai City thousands of miles away 31. The existence of this trump card is kept secret; even Yun Ming was unaware of it until Chen Xinjie was captured 31.
- Chen Yu used the avatar to engage Chen Xinjie while his real body remained in a standoff with Yun Ming, causing shock and confusion among Shrek Academy elders 30 31.
- The avatar’s one‑tenth power is still sufficient to defeat peak quasi‑gods, making it a devastating surprise tactic 31.
- The technique is a carefully guarded secret; Chen Yu deliberately withheld its nature even from Yun Ming to preserve its element of surprise 31.
- A limitation is that the avatar only possesses a fraction of Chen Yu’s full strength; against truly god‑rank opponents, it may not be decisive 31.
- Creating the avatar likely requires significant preparation or mental focus, as Chen Yu does not use it casually in every confrontation 31.
Following his ascension, Chen Yu’s clone system expanded considerably. He has forty-nine clones, each possessing one-tenth of his strength; nine remain stationed in Federation-held broken planes, while forty travel outside the Douluo Plane to comprehend laws and collect rare resources 124. Their existence leaves Chen Yu’s main body with less than thirty percent of his complete power, though recalling them would restore his full combat capability 124.
Immeasurable Physical Prowess
Chen Yu’s martial soul is his own body, granting him terrifying physical strength and durability that surpasses conventional soul master limits 7. His body is said to be harder than a four‑word battle armor, making him impervious to most weapons and soul skills 7. Even Yun Ming, a peak quasi‑god, acknowledged that at the same realm he could not break through Chen Yu’s defenses 7. Chen Yu’s physical body allows him to cross the void — he can traverse thousands of miles in an instant, appearing without any detectable soul power fluctuations 13 28. His mere presence exudes an aura that makes heaven and earth lose color, and his physical pressure alone forced Yun Ming to struggle to maintain a barrier 24 28.
- Chen Yu defeated Yun Ming in their earlier battle without using any battle armor, relying solely on his body’s natural resilience and strength 7.
- He can move at speeds so fast that even peak quasi‑gods like Yue Guan cannot track his trajectory, appearing directly in front of opponents 45.
- His physical endurance allows him to withstand the recoil of his own devastating attacks, such as the spear throw that killed Long Yeyue 10 11.
- A limitation is that his body, while incredibly tough, is not completely indestructible; the spears he uses are made from Extraterrestrial Meteorite Iron and can shatter under extreme force 13.
- Before his divinity was publicly revealed, the plane’s will suppressed god-level power, so top powerhouses such as Yun Ming had to seal their spiritual power to avoid dying quickly 12.
- After attaining godhood, his blood energy can surge into a golden-red sea that covers the sky and manifests overwhelming divine pressure 112 124.
- Chen Yu can physically cross the void over interstellar distances, enabling him and his clones to search thousands of light-years around the Douluo Plane for broken and minor planes 125.
- At God King-level comprehensive strength, his simple physical punch erased Yun Ming and Sea God Island, demonstrating power capable of affecting the Life Core of the Douluo Plane. 163
Spear Techniques and Extraterrestrial Meteorite Spears
Chen Yu wields long spears crafted entirely from Extraterrestrial Meteorite Iron, a material that is both cheap and exceptionally powerful 14. He possesses a cabinet filled with at least twenty to thirty identical spears, each one capable of killing a demigod (peak quasi‑god) with a single thrown strike 13 14. Despite Shrek Academy’s assumption that these were level‑10 Soul Tools, the spears are simply made from rare meteorite metal, meaning Chen Yu can mass‑produce them 13 14. The spear throw that killed Long Yeyue flew from tens of thousands of miles away, piercing through her four‑word battle armor and the defenses of the twin sacred dragons, before pinning her to the ground 10 11.
- Chen Yu can kill peak quasi‑gods with a single spear strike from an extreme distance, demonstrating both accuracy and penetration power 10.
- The spears are identical in appearance and performance; after one spear shatters, Chen Yu simply retrieves another from his cabinet 13.
- Each spear is easily replaceable, giving Chen Yu a virtually unlimited supply of weapons that can defeat demigods 14.
- A limitation is that the spear can shatter upon impact when used at maximum power, as seen when it killed Long Yeyue 13.
- The spears are not true god‑level weapons; they are effective against demigods but may be insufficient against genuine gods or plane‑level entities without further enhancement 14.
Overwhelming Strike (Single Punch)
Chen Yu frequently defeats powerful enemies with a single, straightforward punch that carries power transcending the plane 29 32 45 48. His punch is described as transforming into a massive, burning star or an ancient divine mountain that crushes everything in its path 45 48. It effortlessly obliterates four‑word battle armor and bodily defenses, reducing opponents to blood mist or unconsciousness 29 45 48. He used this technique to kill Yue Guan, Li Wanjun, and Nangong Yi at the War God Temple, and to severely injure Zang Xin (Affectionate Douluo) and Chen Xinjie (Vast Sea Douluo) 30 32 46 47 48. The punch is so overwhelming that even peak quasi‑gods like Chen Xinjie instinctively freeze, unable to resist 29.
- A single punch knocked Zang Xin unconscious in front of all of Shrek City, causing the other powerhouses to shrink back in fear 32.
- Chen Yu killed over a dozen War Gods simultaneously with one punch, turning them into clouds of blood mist 48.
- The punch can bypass all defensive measures, including automatic activation of battle armor and divine artifacts like the Sea God Helmet 29.
- Before attaining godhood, the punch’s power was absolute within the peak quasi‑god realm; Chen Yu later surpassed that limitation through his independent divine path 48 124.
- The technique appears to be a simple physical strike, requiring Chen Yu to be in close proximity to his target, making it less suitable for long‑range engagements 45.
- At his later God King-level comprehensive strength, a single unadorned punch erased Yun Ming and Sea God Island, whose destruction caused the Douluo Plane’s Life Core to fall. 163
Aura of Absolute Pressure
Chen Yu emanates an overwhelming pressure that induces primal fear in those who face him, comparable to a low‑level lifeform confronting a high‑level one 24. Even Yun Ming, a peak quasi‑god, had to exert his full strength to barely shield himself and others from this pressure, and was astonished that Chen Yu could force him to such extremes through mere presence alone 24. This aura causes entire groups of powerful soul masters — from Title Douluo to Limit Douluo — to wilt, unable to act or speak 32 48. It serves as an intimidation tool that often prevents opposition before any physical conflict begins.
- Chen Yu’s arrival at Shrek City caused the gathered elders and powerhouses to freeze, unable to mount any resistance 24 32.
- The pressure alone is enough to make even the most arrogant War Gods beg for mercy or stand paralyzed 46 47.
- It can be selectively directed; Chen Yu’s own soldiers and allies are not affected by the aura 24.
- A limitation is that the pressure is largely psychological and intimidating; it does not directly cause physical harm unless supplemented by his actual attacks 24.
- Opponents with exceptionally strong wills or god‑level mental fortitude may be able to resist the pressure to some degree, though no such case has been shown 24.
- After his ascension, this pressure became unmistakably divine; Di Tian recognized the chasm between a peak quasi-god and a true deity, while Gu Yuena chose negotiation rather than risk a direct battle 122 124.
Divine Sense and Life Core Authority
By Chapter 162, Chen Yu could use divine sense to monitor the entire Douluo Plane. This allowed him to perceive the golden light rising from Shrek City, infer that someone was drawing on the Golden Ancient Tree, and inspect the situation from above Shrek City in an instant 162.
- Chen Yu’s divine sense can observe events across the Douluo Plane without requiring him to physically approach the target location first. 162
- He recognized the Golden Ancient Tree as the Douluo Plane’s Life Core and understood that mishandling it could damage the plane’s ecological balance. 162
- After Yun Ming’s death caused the Life Core status to fall, Chen Yu seized and recondensed the status with a casual motion, preventing the plane’s vitality from continuing to dissipate. 163
- He had not yet publicly designated the new holder of the Life Core status, considering Leng Yaozhu and Leng Yulai as possible recipients. 163
Soul Tool Research and Technological Combat Integration
Chen Yu is a visionary who believes that the development of soul tools, when combined with soul master cultivation, can produce power beyond the world’s imagination 38. He privately funds a laboratory within the Sun Moon Royal Soul Master Academy, where he researches advanced soul‑tool weapons, including the ‘Star Gate’ project for space exploration and starships whose muzzles could target a Plane Master 38. Chen Yu personally oversees resource allocation for soul‑tool research, and his laboratory constantly recruits the best graduates 13 38. He has already utilized soul‑tool limiters to suppress captured peak quasi‑gods like Chen Xinjie 30. His long‑term goal is to develop weapons that can kill gods and god‑kings, reducing divine beings to “a matter of one shot” 38.
- Chen Yu ordered the initiation of the ‘Star Gate’ project, hinting at orbital weapon platforms or interstellar craft 38.
- He has a dedicated team of researchers and a network of loyal personnel throughout the Sun Moon Royal Soul Master Academy 13.
- The soul‑tool limiters he uses are specifically designed by the Sun Moon Federation for high‑level soul masters and can completely seal the soul power of even a peak quasi‑god 30.
- A limitation is that these technologies are still under development; the starships and ultimate weapons are not yet operational 38.
- His reliance on soul‑tool infrastructure means that any sabotage or destruction of his laboratories could hamper his long‑term plans 38.
- Chen Yu’s technologies were nevertheless capable of annihilating the entire Holy Spirit Cult headquarters in a single sun-like bombardment, including its two emperors and four heavenly kings. 108
- His laboratories are sustained not merely by seized clan assets, but by the output of six complete small planes and numerous broken planes acquired beyond the Douluo Plane. 125
- The laboratory completed a Sky-Based Weapon capable of orbital bombardment; Chen Yu used this weapon to destroy the Holy Spirit Cult headquarters. 101 173
Plane Refinement, Contracts, and Extraterrestrial Resources
Chen Yu’s godhood is rooted in his ability to refine planes and draw upon resources from beyond the Douluo Plane. He refined a broken plane in his youth, used its resources to construct his independent path, and later accumulated multiple complete small planes and broken planes through void exploration 124 125.
- Chen Yu possesses six complete small planes, which are self-sufficient worlds with complete laws and energy cycles, as well as numerous broken planes 125.
- Nine broken planes are connected to the Douluo Plane and maintained by his clones for Federation resource collection and operation 124 125.
- He allocated the Fifth Minor Plane to the Soul Beast clan after securing their submission, allowing them to relocate from the depleted Star Dou Great Forest 124 126.
- Chen Yu used the Book of Contract, which bears the power of a God of Contract at the first-rank god level, to bind Gu Yuena and the Soul Beast clan 125.
- He secretly intends to strengthen this contract using Federation faith power and the origin power of three shattered planes, potentially raising it to the level of a God King contract 125.
- The resources and laws obtained through these planes enable Chen Yu to maintain his technological programs, support his cultivation, and send clones through the universe for further exploration 124 125.
Relationships
Chen Yu and Ya Li: Former fiancés whose engagement was broken after thirty years. Ya Li initiated the breakup, citing feelings of neglect due to Chen Yu's long seclusions and her growing affection for Yun Ming. Chen Yu responded coldly, demanding repayment of all resources she had used during their engagement, viewing the relationship as a transactional obligation. He later revoked her privileges and threatened Yun Ming, actions that deeply hurt and humiliated Ya Li. Their interactions reveal a shift from mutual reliance to bitter confrontation, with Chen Yu feeling betrayed and Ya Li convinced she deserves emotional fulfillment rather than material support. After the breakup, Ya Li lost access to the Parliament Building and the faith-gathering support Chen Yu had previously maintained for her. When she later learned of Chen Yu’s godhood, she tried to return to him, but her aged condition and public breakdown demonstrated the final collapse of her former status. 1 2 3 58 117 118 119
Chen Yu and Yun Ming: Former rivals and adversaries. Yun Ming, the Sky-Propping Douluo and Pavilion Master of Shrek Academy's Sea God Pavilion, harbored romantic feelings for Ya Li and resented Chen Yu. Chen Yu held Yun Ming responsible for Ya Li's betrayal and viewed him as a symbol of Shrek's corruption. Their confrontations were marked by power struggles, with Chen Yu using his authority as Federation Chairman to pressure Shrek Academy and Yun Ming relying on alliances with other peak quasi-gods. Despite Yun Ming's initial confidence, Chen Yu's overwhelming strength and strategic moves left him humiliated and powerless. Yun Ming’s loss of Ya Li’s faith power also destroyed the path to godhood he believed their relationship could provide. Yun Ming’s later attempt to seize godhood through the Golden Ancient Tree ended with Chen Yu erasing him and Sea God Island. 3 5 24 26 34 58 162 163
Chen Yu and Pan Wen: Chen Yu's secretary-general, Pan Wen, is a loyal and efficient subordinate who executes orders without question. He maintains professionalism even in tense situations, such as delivering the resource repayment demand to Yun Ming. Pan Wen often reports on developments and provides strategic support, demonstrating trust and a close working relationship with Chen Yu. He also administers Chen Yu’s later campaigns against the War God Temple, auction houses, clans, the Skysea Alliance, Shrek City, and Star Luo State. 2 3 4 5 6 19 48 76 96 148 194
Chen Yu and Leng Yaozhu / Leng Yulai: The Leng sisters, both possessing Heavenly Phoenix Martial Souls, actively pursue romantic relationships with Chen Yu. After Ya Li breaks off the engagement, they become more forward in their affections, embracing him and seeking his attention. Chen Yu initially feels uncomfortable with their advances, citing his single-minded pursuit of the Great Dao and the impropriety of public displays. The sisters remain devoted to him for decades because of his commitment to the Federation and refusal to allow personal feelings to interfere with official affairs. After Chen Yu becomes a god, they become his intimate partners, and he transforms them into Soul Masters. Chen Yu later considers granting the recondensed Life Core status to one of the sisters. 5 6 120 121 163
Chen Yu and Yu Guanzhi: Commander of the Central Legion, Yu Guanzhi is fiercely loyal to Chen Yu. He leads his troops to purge the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan on Chen Yu's orders, demonstrating absolute obedience. Yu Guanzhi arranges a grand display of respect from soldiers who express gratitude for Chen Yu's improvements to their lives, highlighting a bond of trust and mutual respect beyond mere bloodline loyalty. 10 11 24 43
Chen Yu and Gu Yuena: Chen Yu compelled Gu Yuena, the Silver Dragon King, to negotiate on behalf of the Soul Beast clan after demonstrating his divine strength in the Star Dou Great Forest. Their relationship began as a tense political settlement: Gu Yuena accepted Federation jurisdiction and a binding contract in exchange for a small plane for the Soul Beasts. Chen Yu later relocated the clan to the Fifth Minor Plane. Gu Yuena subsequently became his personal secretary to study humanity and learn directly from him, creating a relationship marked by political cooperation, mutual vigilance, and Chen Yu’s growing attraction to her. 124 125 126 130 131
Chen Yu and Di Tian: Di Tian, the Golden-Eyed Black Dragon King and Beast God, initially resisted Chen Yu’s demand that the Soul Beast clan submit to humanity. Chen Yu effortlessly dispersed his attack, while Gu Yuena ordered him to stand down in recognition of the overwhelming power gap. Di Tian later accepted the value of the small plane offered to his people, though he remained wary of Chen Yu’s contract. 122 123 124 125
Chen Yu and Mu Ye: Mu Ye succeeded Chen Yu as the Body Sect leader after Chen Yu pursued the Federation Council Chairmanship. Chen Yu continued to covertly support the Body Sect under Mu Ye’s leadership, helping it grow into an organization of several thousand carefully selected Body Martial Soul wielders, many of whom joined the Federation legions and Blood God Legion. 190
Chen Yu and Hu Jie: Hu Jie was Chen Yu’s former junior brother in the Body Sect. Chen Yu spared Hu Jie after the latter betrayed the sect and joined the Tang Sect because Commander Huang pleaded for mercy. When Hu Jie continued on the path of betrayal as the Tang Sect’s Star Luo branch leader, Chen Yu confronted him personally and defeated him without mercy. 190 191
Ya Li and Yun Ming: Lovers who began their relationship after Ya Li's breakup with Chen Yu. Ya Li frequently sought Yun Ming's comfort and protection, and Yun Ming defended her against Chen Yu's demands. However, their relationship was strained by the financial burden Chen Yu imposed, and Ya Li's motivations were partly self-interested—she chose Yun Ming because she believed he could offer her greater benefits and emotional fulfillment. Yun Ming, though devoted, became weary and exhausted as Shrek's resources were drained. After awakening and learning that Chen Yu was a god, Ya Li immediately abandoned her desire to reunite with Yun Ming and sought Chen Yu instead. 3 4 5 54 117
Yun Ming and Shrek Academy Elders: The elders, including Zhuo Shi and Cai Yue'er, initially supported Yun Ming but grew resentful as Chen Yu's actions devastated Shrek's finances and reputation. Cai Yue'er openly accused Ya Li and Yun Ming of causing the conflict, reflecting long-suppressed jealousy and blame. The elders' collective reluctance to contribute resources highlighted their individual self-interest, and Yun Ming struggled to maintain authority as the situation deteriorated. Their later willingness to manufacture a demon crisis in an attempt to restore Shrek reflected their desperation. Ultimately, the elders were unable to prevent Shrek’s complete abandonment and Yun Ming’s death. 5 39 50 131 132 155 163
Cai Yue'er and Ya Li: Cai Yue'er, a Shrek Academy elder, harbored resentment toward Ya Li, both for monopolizing Chen Yu's resources and for causing Shrek's troubles. She unleashed accusations in a tense meeting, blaming Ya Li for Chen Yu's attacks and the suffering of the Academy. Ya Li struggled to defend herself, while Yun Ming tried to shield her, deepening the rift among the elders. Cai Yue'er was later killed by Chen Yu during his investigation into Shrek’s exploitation of students. 39 70
Qiangu Dongfeng and Leng Yaozhu: The Spirit Pagoda Master, Qiangu Dongfeng, is in love with Leng Yaozhu and is deeply disturbed to see her embracing Chen Yu. He initially hoped she would reciprocate his feelings, but her open affection for Chen Yu leaves him heartbroken. His interactions with Chen Yu are strained by this unrequited love. After Chen Yu’s ascension, Qiangu Dongfeng responds to him with marked deference when Chen Yu announces his plans for the Star Dou Great Forest. 6 121
Chen Yu and Ling Han: Ling Han is the director of Chen Yu’s private laboratory. Chen Yu trusts him to provide resources for ongoing research projects, while Ling Han is dedicated and enthusiastic about the Speaker’s technological ambitions. Chen Yu grants Ling Han effectively unlimited research support, including annual research and development funding of one hundred trillion Federation Credits. 65 76
