Background / History
Karma Demon God emerged from a Chaos egg as a gray figure wrapped in dense karmic threads, declaring himself master of the Dao of Karma. Before he could explore Chaos, Fate Demon God Mingyuan ambushed him and subjected him to the “welcoming ceremony” imposed upon newly born Demon Gods. At the time, Karma was only at the fourth level of the Primordial Unity Realm and could not resist Fate’s seventh-level cultivation. 4
He later became one of Chaos’s highest-ranked Demon Gods, standing fifth beneath Time, Strength, Space, and Fate. During the gathering over the impending Chaos calamity, he questioned why Shichen regarded the last-ranked Pangu as essential to their plans, then joined the other Demon Gods in refining Dao bodies for the heaven-opening scheme. 6 12 15
After Shichen and Pangu departed the Hundun world, Karma saw an opportunity to seize the Primordial World. He persuaded Fate to replace the world’s Immortal Dao imprint with Fate and Karma Dao imprints, arguing that this would give them control over both the Primordial World and its System. He subsequently recruited several hundred Demon Gods, though Reincarnation Demon God refused to join and secretly warned Yang Mei. 30 31
Karma and Fate led their faction against the Primordial World, seeking to suppress its Dao of Strength and Dao of Time while completing the new imprint. Their offensive was stopped by Yang Mei and Shichen’s avatar; Fate’s apparent alliance with Karma proved to have been part of a trap. Defeated and injured, Karma offered half of his Karma Dao origin to repair Chaos and heal the wounded Demon Gods, then swore never to stir up Chaos again. 32 33
Despite his oath, Karma remained opportunistic. At a later Hall of Gods deliberation, he proposed disguising the Primordial World as the Chaos World to lure stronger worlds and advanced Systems into their sphere. The proposal passed unanimously and earned Shichen’s approval. 41
During the Demon Gods’ conquest of another universe, Karma secretly linked karmic threads to its worlds, intending to claim a tenth of the origin gained whenever another Demon God destroyed one. His profiteering was exposed after Fate secretly attached a fate thread to him and siphoned away the origin he had accumulated. 52 56
When Shichen’s divinity distorted his temperament and drove him to demand every Demon God’s Dao marks, Karma immediately recognized that something was wrong. He later showed clear relief when Shichen recovered his senses and abandoned the attempt to restart Chaos. 66 69
Karma personally intervened against the Immortal Emperors in the Sea of Worlds. Declaring their deaths to be karmic retribution for invading his world, he activated the Law of Karma, turning their own powers and circumstances against them until the Corpse Immortal Emperor and his allies were erased. 80 81
Appearance
Karma Demon God manifests as a gray humanoid figure surrounded by densely intertwined threads of karma. 4
- Gray body or robes, first seen emerging from his Chaos egg. 4
- Karmic threads constantly wind around his body. 4
- Usually wears a cheeky grin or a deliberately innocent expression while plotting. 30 52
Personality
Karma is playful, provocative, and habitually insolent toward his fellow Demon Gods. He repeatedly needles Fate Demon God with the nickname “Fate the Fourth,” mocks Reincarnation’s laziness, and delights in escalating disputes for his own amusement. 14 30 79
He is also intensely ambitious and calculating. His plan to seize the Primordial World, his recruitment of a rebel faction, and his attempt to skim origin from conquered worlds all stem from his desire for greater power and access to higher realms. 30 31 52
Though he often acts as Chaos’s foremost troublemaker, he is not indifferent to its survival. He joined the efforts surrounding the original calamity, accepted responsibility for repairing the damage caused by the civil war, and was genuinely concerned when Shichen’s divinity threatened to destroy Chaos. 15 33 66 69
