Background / History

Yang Mei was born 200 Chaos epochs after Shichen. Upon declaring himself the master of the Dao of Space, his Space Origin Bead rose over Chaos and established space as a measurable concept within the previously shapeless void. 2

When the newly born Fate Demon God, Mingyuan, attempted to bind Yang Mei and Shichen with fate threads, Yang Mei severed his own thread through the Dao of Space. He later froze the surrounding space, immobilized Mingyuan, and beat him in retaliation. 3 4

Over thousands of Chaos epochs, Yang Mei and Shichen regularly discussed the Dao and became close friends. The two recognized that the birth of increasing numbers of Demon Gods was draining Chaos Origin and contributing to the approaching calamity tribulation. 4 5

Yang Mei participated in the preparations for the Heaven-Opening Calamity. Alongside Shichen and Pangu, he helped forge the Pseudo-@@REF_ENTITY_13975968@@ Axe, Pseudo-Creation Jade Butterfly, and Pseudo-Chaos Green Lotus to distribute the burden of opening the heavens. 16

After the Primordial World was created, Yang Mei secretly sent an Eighth-Heaven Hunyuan Dao Body into it, intending to secure a position in the new world's future. 18

Appearance

Yang Mei is typically depicted as a green-robed man with a relaxed, leisurely bearing. He is strongly associated with a towering Willow Tree, beneath which he drinks wine and receives visitors in his Space Domain. 4 10 13

Personality

Yang Mei is teasing, unhurried, and fond of watching conflicts rather than joining them. When Pangu challenged Shichen's position as the First Demon God, Yang Mei declined to interfere and chose to enjoy the spectacle with a cup of wine. 10

Despite this detached manner, he is deeply loyal to Shichen and Pangu. He accepted responsibility for the Primordial World's defense after their departure, sacrificed a major portion of his Space Origin to obtain protection for it, and later gave Shichen his Space Dao markings and Heart of Space to support the perfection of the Primordial World's Heavenly Dao. 30 31 56

Yang Mei values a peaceful, united Chaos World. He was reluctant to use the Great Dao Prohibition Decree against Fate and Karma because he still regarded them as fellow Demon Gods, even in the middle of their civil war. 33 56

Yang Mei gives Shichen his Space Great Dao markings and Heart of Space, hoping to witness the eventual union of the Daos of Time and Space. Shichen later refines these markings and develops the embryonic Great Dao of Time and Space. 56 66

Resistance to Divine Shichen
