History

Yachihoko was associated with an Uchiha “ultimate weapon” from the Warring States Period. Information later heard by Uchiha Itachi described its wielder as Uchiha Mumei, while later accounts identify the sealed ultimate weapon as Uchiha Hikari; the supplied accounts do not resolve the naming discrepancy. 133 139

The technique's perceived danger was a major reason for the wielder's long-term sealing. Hashirama Senju described its core function as linking the chakra of marked people and controlling their minds, and stated that the Senju and Sarutobi clans had jointly sealed its user. 141
