Background and History

Tang San grows up in Holy Soul Village as Tang Hao’s son. After awakening Blue Silver Grass, he struggles with its reputation as a “Trash Martial Soul,” despite possessing Innate Full Soul Power. Ling Han meets him on a hill outside the village, encourages him to keep cultivating, and shares food with the undernourished boy 2 3.

At Nouding Academy, Ling Han handles Tang San’s enrollment and later accepts him as a disciple. Tang San trusts him enough to reveal his hidden Clear Sky Hammer. Under Ling Han’s guidance, he obtains a Lone Bamboo first ring and develops Blue Silver Grass into a versatile weapon and control tool 5 6 9 12.

Tang San leaves Nouding Academy with Ling Han and Xiao Wu after qualifying for early graduation. He later becomes captain of the Imperial Fighting Team, where he defeats Yu Tianheng and continues training under Ling Han 27 29 30.

Appearance

Poor nutrition initially leaves Tang San frail, painfully thin, and sallow. After taking the Tenfold Tonic Pill, his frame becomes sturdier and his skin fairer 3 22.

Personality

Tang San is diligent and eager to learn, practicing techniques such as the Purple Demon Eye early in the morning and experimenting with Ling Han’s suggestions for Blue Silver Enhancement. He pushes himself hard enough to collapse after first making a Blue Silver Grass dragon fly 7 9 14.

He becomes fiercely loyal to Ling Han, whose care gives him the fatherly affection he feels Tang Hao did not provide. He defends his teacher when Yu Xiaogang disparages him and eventually entrusts Ling Han with the complete Mysterious Heaven Treasure Record 14 22 25. Tang San is also protective of Xiao Wu, intervening when Xiao Chenyu threatens her and choosing to face a dangerous Man Faced Demon Spider alongside his team 10 34.
