Gu Wancheng, Bo Yizhou, and Chaochao returned home and reunited with Wen Shuyu and Bo Ting, while Chaochao tried to reach Suisui. Suisui remained with his mother, Lin Wanjun, and left after she told him to study hard and inherit the Jiang Group, ignoring the sound of breaking glass behind him.
Suisui visited his mother at the psychiatric hospital with Lin Ting, then learned his phone had run out of battery when Chaochao's calls went unanswered. Chaochao invited Suisui to visit the next day for croquettes, while Gu Wancheng helped Wen Shuyu prepare them.
Gu Wancheng made croquettes with Wen Shuyu’s guidance, and the family shared them before agreeing to stay overnight at Wen Shuyu’s home. Later, Bo Yizhou insisted Gu Wancheng make it up to him, leaving Gu Wancheng protesting as Bo Yizhou touched his waist.
Gu Wancheng woke sore after a night with Bo Yizhou, then tried to hide his discomfort from Wen Shuyu. Chaochao was caught muddy and faced triple homework, leaving him sulking as the family went to breakfast.
Gu Wancheng and Bo Yizhou left Wen Shuyu and Bo Ting’s home with Chaochao, who looked forward to visiting again and asked Gu Wancheng to remember how to make croquettes. After they returned to River Moon Bay, Gu Wancheng asked Butler Chen to put the painting in his studio and went to change clothes.
Gu Wancheng returned home and promised Chaochao they would make croquettes at one, but first insisted that he finish his homework. After Gu Wancheng found him drawing instead, Chaochao reluctantly resumed his work, and Bo Yizhou carried him downstairs for lunch.
Suisui visited Chaochao’s house with Lin Ting and gave gifts to Gu Wancheng and Chaochao. After the children went to play, Lin Ting and Gu Wancheng chatted while drinking tea and wine.
Gu Wancheng taught Suisui and Chaochao to make croquettes while Lin Ting watched and waited to eat. After everyone tried them, Gu Wancheng limited Chaochao’s portions, and the two children left the kitchen.
Gu Wancheng gave Suisui and An'an paintings, while Bo Yizhou left him a loving note after taking Chaochao to school. Chaochao felt embarrassed about earning only five out of ten stars for his lantern, but Suisui cheered him up, and Gu Wancheng comforted him with cola chicken wings.
Gu Wancheng took Chaochao to school, then visited Bo Yizhou at the office with snacks and milk tea. After they shared the food, Gu Wancheng led Bo Yizhou into the lounge so they could rest together.
Gu Wancheng spent the day waiting for Bo Yizhou to finish work, then chose their first travel destination by drawing lots. The chapter ended with Gu Wancheng opening the selected paper ball to discover where they would go.
Bo Yizhou and Gu Wancheng picked up Chaochao, bought him jianbing, and teased him about a surprise he would learn about the next day. After Chaochao went to bed, Bo Yizhou and Gu Wancheng spent the night together, leaving Gu Wancheng exhausted and hungry the following day.
Gu Wancheng spent the morning relaxing and drawing until Chaochao’s teacher called to report that Chaochao had a fever. Gu Wancheng picked him up from school and brought him home, where the family doctor examined him.
Gu Wancheng cared for Chaochao after the boy developed a mild fever, then cooked him noodles when he woke up hungry. After Chaochao finished eating, Gu Wancheng asked to feel his belly.
Gu Wancheng and Bo Yizhou told Chaochao they were leaving for a few days and arranged for him to stay with Suisui. After taking him there, they set off together the next morning, leaving Butler Chen to see them off.
Four-year-old Lu Keran got into mischief at home and met Lu Qian, an older boy visiting his grandfather. After Lu Qian said he did not want to be his friend, Lu Keran ran off and remained angry when Lu Qian followed to explain.
Lu Keran and Lu Qian agreed as children that they would marry, and after Lu Qian’s parents died, he came to live with Lu Keran’s family. Lu Qian changed his name to Lu Xuanran because of Lu Keran’s earlier reasoning, and Lu Keran welcomed him and promised to treat him well.
