Reincarnation and First Marriage

Yan Buhui was an undergraduate in his previous life before awakening on the Douluo Continent as a 100,000-year Evil Fire Phoenix. His new body had nearly died during its hundred-thousand-year heavenly tribulation. Although already a territorial ruler, he feared being killed by powerful Soul Masters for his Soul Ring and Soul Bone 1 2 5.

The More Children, More Blessings System supplied his initial pills, flames, and treasures. After taking human form, he targeted Huo Wu when Blazing Fire Academy entered his territory to hunt Soul Beasts. He restrained the academy’s party and secured her agreement to become his wife in exchange for releasing her father, brother, and teammates. At Phoenix Emperor Mountain, he subsequently invoked her family’s safety while pressing her to bear his child 1 2 3 4 5.

Huo Wu’s pregnancy brought his first major cultivation reward. Their relationship later became affectionate: she called him her husband, defended him to others, and told him she no longer resented her abduction. He strengthened her cultivation and promised to take her home to visit her family 7 8 9.

Conflict with the Four Elements Academy

A rescue force from the Four Elements Academy confronted Yan Buhui at Phoenix Emperor Mountain. He survived its Wind, Thunder, Water and Fire Array through Nirvana Fire, then restrained the assembled Soul Masters. When Huo Wu asked him to release them, he demanded that the seven women from Skywater Academy remain with him 10 11.

Shui Bing’er and Shui Yue’er submitted under pressure to protect the other captives. Yan Buhui released the remaining academy members but kept the Seven Beauties of Skywater as wives and concubines. Their pregnancies subsequently produced the rewards that advanced him to 200,000 years of cultivation 13 19 24.

Expansion into the Star Dou Great Forest

Seeking powerful enforcers, Yan Buhui traveled to the Lake of Life and demanded the service of the Sky Azure Bull Python and Titan Giant Ape. When they refused, he defeated them with his flames. Their submission brought the Lake of Life under his jurisdiction 27 29 30.

He next subdued the three Qian Jun Ant Emperor brothers and the Dark Demon Evil God Tiger. He left them responsible for affairs in the Star Dou Great Forest, while taking the Sky Azure Bull Python and Titan Giant Ape back to serve as gatekeepers for the Land of Extreme Flame 32 34 35 40.

Plant Academy and Family Visits

Near the forest’s outskirts, Yan Buhui encountered Yao Zi and Mu Yunteng. He gravely injured Yao Qingyun and compelled both women to accompany him, bringing his household to ten wives. The system then recognized his Beautiful Girl Alliance achievement 35 37 40.

He later escorted his wives to Skywater Academy, Blazing Fire Academy, and Plant Academy to visit their families. Before their departure, Feng Xiaotian challenged him over Huo Wu; Yan Buhui defeated him with two kicks and destroyed his Martial Soul 43 44 46 47.

Defense of the Land of Extreme Flame

After reaching 250,000 years of cultivation, Yan Buhui confronted the invading Flame Lion Dog and Flame Azure Wolf King. He displayed his newly acquired Heavenly Flames and overwhelmed their followers with his cultivation pressure. Following the battle, he absorbed the Flame Lion Dog’s Eternal Fire and obtained two hundred-thousand-year Soul Bones 48 49 50.

Recruitment of the Auspicious Beast

After the invasion, Yan Buhui returned to expanding his forces. He used the Purifying Demonic Lotus Flame’s Demonic Flame Space to search the Star Dou Great Forest, confronted the Three-Headed Scarlet Demon Mastiff, and sought to recruit him. The Dark Demon Evil God Tiger and Qian Jun Ant Emperor brothers assisted in pursuing the Three-Eyed Golden Lion 51 52 54 55.

Yan Buhui located the lion in a ruined valley and invited her to bring her auspicious blessings to the Land of Extreme Flame. When she warned that leaving would weaken the Star Dou Great Forest, he explained that he intended to occupy the forest as part of a much larger ambition. He subsequently brought her back to his territory, and she became his eleventh wife as Wang Qiu’er 56 59 63.

Sunset Forest and the Heaven Dou Empire

Yan Buhui next set out to obtain resources and confront continental factions, while assuring his wives that he would not harm Blazing Fire Academy, Plant Academy, or Skywater Academy. He traveled to the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well before Tang San could claim its Immortal Herbs. After consuming Infernal Delicate Apricot and Octagonal Mysterious Ice Grass, he tempered himself in the spring and absorbed nearly all its refined energy 64 65 66.

By the time he advanced on the Heaven Dou imperial family, he had taken control of the Star Dou Great Forest, Sunset Forest, and Soul Hunting Forest. He avoided attacking ordinary Heaven Dou commoners, instead directing his campaign against the imperial leadership and its powerful supporters 67.

After taking control of the Heaven Dou Empire, Yan Buhui obtained Xue Ke’s agreement to marry him. He declared that the empire would cease to exist, while promising that she could retain her status and might eventually become empress. Emperor Xue Ye then accompanied him to meet Xue Qinghe, whose true identity as Qian Renxue he already knew 7 71.

Qian Renxue, Xue Ke, Dugu Yan, and Ye Lingling joined his household. He also visited Moonlight Pavilion to recruit Tang Yuehua for her musical and etiquette expertise; she accepted after recognizing his authority over the empire and the lack of a meaningful alternative 75 77 80.

Star Luo and Spirit Hall

Traveling with Qian Renxue, Yan Buhui entered the Star Luo Empire and used Sea Heart Flame to kill a soldier and intimidate the remaining troops. At the Tiger Saint Imperial Palace, he openly demanded the Star Luo Emperor’s abdication. Zhu Zhuyun and Zhu Zhuxue subsequently accompanied him to Spirit Hall 80 82 84 86.

At Spirit Hall, he interrupted Yue Guan and Gui Mei’s Martial Soul Fusion Skill before its completion, defeating their attempt to restrain him. He later challenged Qian Daoliu without using his Five Fires and Seven Birds Fan, instead preparing Green Lotus Core Flame, Fallen Heart Flame, and Bone Chilling Flame. His victory over Qian Daoliu made him Spirit Hall’s Great Enshrined 87 92 95.

He also challenged Ling Yuan Douluo Xue Yingzi, revealing his phoenix form and walking through her fire attacks unharmed before counterattacking with Ultimate Flame. Bibi Dong, Hu Liena, and Xue Yingzi became members of his household 95 100 104.

Bloodline Evolution and Fatherhood

Wang Qiu’er’s pregnancy produced particularly rich rewards, advancing Yan Buhui to 300,000 years and evolving his bloodline into the Divine Fire Vermilion Bird. He also obtained the True Phoenix Precious Technique, Four Swords of Immortal Slaying, and Void Devouring Flame 97.

When Shui Bing’er and Shui Yue’er told him that Huo Wu was going into labor, he immediately decided to find a midwife in Heaven Dou City and asked Bibi Dong to accompany him. By his later departure from Phoenix Emperor Mountain, thirteen children had been born. Their inherited bloodlines ranged from Evil Fire Phoenix to Divine Phoenix and Divine Fire Vermilion Bird, and he could give each child a strand of Eternal Fire for protection 100 104.

Yan Buhui subsequently returned to Heaven Dou, appointed She Long and Ci Xue to protect the empire, and supplied Bibi Dong’s Pope Token so they could summon Spirit Hall elders for assistance. He then took Xue Ke, Dugu Yan, Ye Lingling, and Tang Yuehua to the Worship Hall to coordinate plans for his forces 106.

Gu Yuena and the Far North

Following another bloodline upgrade into the Great Sun Golden Crow, Yan Buhui fought Silver Dragon King Gu Yuena with Emperor Flame and the Heavenly Flames Eternal Ancient Sword. His evolved bloodline negated her innate suppression of Soul Beasts. He ultimately shattered her avatar armor and won; Gu Yuena agreed to marry him on the condition that he lead the Soul Beast race to rise and flourish, and he accepted that responsibility 115 117 118.

He subsequently acquired Gu Yuena’s nine elemental powers, including life and destruction, further expanding his abilities. His campaign then reached the Far North, where he secured the submission of the Snow Empress, Ice Empress, and Titan Snow Demon King to the Flame Emperor Alliance. In exchange, the Snow Empress retained authority over the region. Afterward, he began seeking the Sky Dream Ice Silkworm beneath the ice 119 121 126.

Slaughter City and Sea God Island

After taking Slaughter City, Yan Buhui entrusted its management to Beast God Di Tian. He personally confronted the Ten Headed Fierce Yang Serpent on Hell Road, overcame its magma flames, killed it with the Heavenly Flames Eternal Ancient Sword, and collected its inner core. He then proposed traveling to Sea God Island 134 135.

At the Sea Dragon Sacred Pillar, he antagonized the Seven Sacred Pillars Guardian Douluo, dismissing them as Poseidon’s lackeys. When all seven activated their Martial Soul Avatars and combined the ocean’s power, he countered with an Eternal Fire punch that overwhelmed their joint assault 137.

Yan Buhui later explained to Bo Saixi that Tang Chen had failed the Asura God Trial, been corrupted by the Rakshasa God, become the King of Slaughter, and been killed. Subsequent accounts refer to the conquered Slaughter City as his Fire City or fire capital 155 157 167 170.

Divine Realm Campaign

Yan Buhui’s later evolution produced the Chaos Heaven-Devouring Sparrow bloodline. After killing the Phoenix God, he acquired the essence-blood power contained in that god’s divine position. His strength was described as no weaker than a First-Level God’s, while the richer spiritual Qi of the Douluo God Realm further enhanced his flames 167 169 194.

He defeated the Fire God with Emperor Flame and challenged the authority of the God Kings. Against the Asura God King, his flames blocked Hell Asura Slash and destroyed its dark-purple black dragon. After the Asura God King admitted defeat, Yan Buhui invited him to contribute to the Flame Alliance 170 182.

Yan Buhui subsequently defeated the Destruction God King and claimed the Five Great God Kings’ palaces. Their former splendor was devastated by his flames, and the God Kings were left unable to prevent his takeover 192.

Flame Domain and Flame Realm

A later account commemorates Yan Buhui’s rise from a 100,000-year Evil Fire Phoenix with a stone stele of flame. It records the successive forms through which he evolved and presents his will of fire as an influence on later generations 194.

In the Flame Domain, Yan Buhui protected Gu Yuena, Qian Renxue, and his other companions from Fire Spirit Dragons and destroyed the creatures with the Heavenly Flames Eternal Ancient Sword. The group continued onward and encountered a white-bearded old man 195.

When Xiao Yan arrived in the Flame Realm, Yan Buhui approached and welcomed him. Xiao Yan, holding the Heavy Xuan Ruler, asked whether Yan Buhui was the realm’s master 199.

Appearance

• Human form: A handsome, red-haired young man who appears younger than twenty, with regal features, a tall bearing, and a muscular physique 10 27 29 42.
• Phoenix form: Glossy, full, fiery-red feathers, with multicolored plumage adorned by flames 25 27.
• Phoenix markings: Patterns resembling the characters for virtue, righteousness, propriety, benevolence, and trustworthiness appear across his head, wings, back, chest, and belly 27.
• Clothing: Wears fiery-red outerwear and phoenix-feather attire 6 17.
• Evolved forms: Later transforms into a Divine Fire Vermilion Bird, Great Sun Golden Crow, and Chaos Heaven-Devouring Sparrow. His Divine Fire Vermilion Bird transformation is accompanied by streams of differently attributed flames 105 118 194.

Personality

Yan Buhui is boastful, domineering, and intensely ambitious. He treats strength as the basis of authority and openly dismisses opponents who cannot match him. His goals extend beyond personal survival to unifying Soul Beast territories, conquering the continent, and eventually reaching the Divine Realm 15 17 19.

His relationships combine material generosity with coercive control. He abducts women, threatens their companions or relatives, and insists on their loyalty, yet also prepares meals, provides cultivation resources, and arranges family visits. His willingness to release captives after securing their submission does not prevent him from using further threats to maintain control 4 5 13 16 23 43 45.

Fatherhood genuinely excites him, alongside its value as a source of system rewards. He celebrates Huo Wu’s pregnancy, discusses a possible daughter’s name with her, and plans to improve their child’s talent while preventing the inheritance of his Evil Fire 8 21.

He regards fire as more than a destructive force, believing it can also renew the world and foster stronger life. Despite enjoying domestic comfort, he repeatedly leaves his household to acquire resources and expand his forces, explaining that he must provide for his wives and future children 51 60 64.

His contempt for weak opponents does not always translate into indiscriminate killing. During his advance on Heaven Dou, he deliberately avoids attacking ordinary commoners, and at Spirit Hall he describes unnecessary killing as meaningless. His ambitions nevertheless bring him into increasingly direct conflict with divine authority, including an intention to slay gods to prove his Dao 67 86 169.
