Background

He Ao begins as an eighteen-year-old college student whose stated life goal is to make money. Quiet and socially isolated by rumors, he insists that he is an honest, law-abiding person; when Liu Nan is lured into an alley by a robber, he subdues the criminal and hands him over to the police. 1 2

He maintains himself through a late-night cold-noodle stall and is notably frugal, even declining Liu Nan's invitation to dinner because of its expected expense. His everyday life changes when a countdown and the Life Dungeon Game interface appear in his vision, assigning him his first simulated identity: Evil God Priest Yezuola. 2 12 16
