After arriving at Kamar-Taj, Wang Yang used his Gene Fragment Fusion System to absorb nearby magical talent fragments and gained the ability to sense magical energy. At the newcomers’ gathering, he watched Belar and met their instructor, Regan Theodore, hoping to learn how to use magic.
At Kamar-Taj, Theodore taught the apprentices to draw Magic Light Lines, but Wang Yang unexpectedly formed two Magic Shields after his first attempt. Theodore wondered whether Wang Yang was a rare magical genius.
Wang Yang impressed Theodore by casting a Magic Shield on his first attempt, then gained a Magic Talent Fragment from Belar after practicing. As Wang Yang and Belar pushed themselves at the training grounds, Theodore told Wong that Wang Yang was the year’s most talented apprentice.
After Wang Yang learned the Magic Shield in a day, Theodore and Wong recognized his unusual talent and sent him to Master Kamar-Taj for instruction. Kamar-Taj urged him to strengthen his foundations before pursuing other spells, but Wang Yang still asked to learn new ones.
Wang Yang absorbed a Magic Shield talent fragment and demonstrated that he had mastered the spell after only a day of practice. Kamar-Taj praised his skill but warned him that his talent was only average at Kamar-Taj and that he still needed to work hard.
Wang Yang learned basic magic runes from Kamar-Taj and fused a Basic rune Talent Fragment, rapidly improving his understanding of magic. After Wang Yang left, Kamar-Taj recognized his extraordinary potential, while Wang Yang tested his strengthened Magic Shield and considered the weapons he could create.
Wang Yang formed a stable golden sword from magic runes, astonishing Kamar-Taj and Wong with his skill. Wong and Kamar-Taj observed him in the Mirror Dimension and realized he was far more advanced than his brief training suggested.
Wang Yang mastered Basic Magic Weapon Construction with astonishing speed, leaving Wong and Kamar-Taj convinced that only the Sorcerer Supreme could properly teach him. They arranged for Kamar-Taj to continue instructing him and have him study ancient languages until the Sorcerer Supreme returned.
Wang Yang arrived late to morning practice after studying rune fundamentals overnight and demonstrated a rune-enhanced Magic Shield that astonished Theodore, Kamar-Taj, and the apprentices. He humbly asked Theodore for guidance, leaving the senior unsure how to teach someone who had already surpassed his own experience.
Wang Yang impressed Theodore, Belar, and Kamar-Taj by reconstructing a Magic Shield, then asked Kamar-Taj to teach him another spell. Kamar-Taj began teaching him to open Portals, and Wang Yang fused a Portal Magic Talent Fragment as the lesson began.
Kamar-Taj worried that Wang Yang was struggling with the Portal spell and encouraged him through the setback he mistakenly believed Wang Yang faced. Wang Yang mastered the Portal on his first attempt, leaving Kamar-Taj impressed and warning him to stay focused because a Portal could be dangerous.
Kamar-Taj went to a tavern and told fellow sorcerers that his apprentice, Wang Yang, had mastered the Magic Shield in one day. The others were astonished and skeptical, while Kamar-Taj quietly enjoyed showing off his genius apprentice.
Kamar-Taj decided Wang Yang needed a more capable combat instructor and arranged for him to study under Wong. Wong accepted Wang Yang as his apprentice and began laying out the work ahead.
Wong warned Wang Yang that becoming a battle sorcerer meant facing lethal, unfair fights, and Wang Yang chose to continue. In the Mirror Dimension, Wang Yang unexpectedly opened a portal despite the challenge, leaving Wong stunned by his talent.
After Wang Yang demonstrated his mastery of Portals, Wong began teaching him Kamar-Taj’s combat arts and magical artifacts. During their sparring match, Wang Yang rapidly gained fighting skill and began challenging Wong, who decided to take the fight more seriously.
Wong gave Wang Yang a punishing combat lesson, then corrected his techniques and was astonished by how quickly he learned. Wang Yang returned to his room to practice, where Master Kamar-Taj arrived at his door.
Kamar-Taj brought Wang Yang potions to strengthen his body and warned him about the risks of practicing Combat Techniques. He then tested Wang Yang in the Mirror Dimension and was surprised to see him combine magic with combat after only a day of training.
Wang Yang overwhelmed Kamar-Taj in a combat lesson, forcing the veteran sorcerer to bind him with a spell before admitting he had been pushed to use a technique beyond Wang Yang’s level. Kamar-Taj praised Wang Yang’s potential and looked forward to his continued training, while Wang Yang affirmed that Kamar-Taj would always be his teacher.
Wong examined Wang Yang’s magical foundation in the Mirror Dimension and was astonished by how thoroughly he had mastered his spells after only a week of training. He decided Wang Yang was ready for advanced magic and began explaining that sorcerers could draw power from gods.
Wong taught Wang Yang the Rings of Raggadorr, and Wang Yang quickly formed the powerful spell after fusing with its talent fragment. Wong answered Wang Yang’s questions and watched him continue practicing, impressed and disheartened by how quickly he learned.
Wong struggled to cope with Wang Yang mastering the Rings of Raggadorr in just an hour or two, far faster than anyone at Kamar-Taj. After hearing about the apprentice’s extraordinary talent, Hamir demanded to meet him.
Wang Yang practiced the Rings of Raggadorr and Mirror Dimension before Wong brought Master Hamir to test his progress. Hamir was shocked by Wang Yang’s mastery, then demonstrated his own stronger Ring of Raggadorr as Wang Yang detected a talent fragment.
Hamir taught Wang Yang to refine the Rings of Raggadorr, then chose to show him a spell he had developed himself. The chapter ended as Hamir and Wong prepared to demonstrate Aikenrol Chaos Thunder Spirit for Wang Yang.
Hamir and Wong demonstrated the Aikenrol Chaos Thunder Spirit, and Wang Yang fused their talent fragments to learn the spell. As Hamir explained its dangers and difficulty, Wang Yang began casting it alone, leaving both masters stunned.
Wang Yang demonstrated that he could cast the Aikenrol Chaos Thunder Spirit, drawing on and fusing the powers of two demon gods, leaving Hamir and Wong stunned. After they encouraged him to keep practicing, they went to a tavern and lamented how far his talent surpassed theirs.
