Wong took Wang Yang into the Mirror Dimension to teach him the core spell after Wang Yang’s own attempt collapsed. Wang Yang absorbed a Mirror Dimension talent fragment and began learning the spell from Wong.
Wong explained how the Mirror Dimension worked, and Wang Yang opened a stable one on his first attempt. After demonstrating that he could reshape the space and attack within it with ease, Wang Yang asked Wong what flaws remained; Wong struggled to answer and thought he should get Kaecilius to teach him.
Wang Yang had mastered the Mirror Dimension, and Hamir took him inside it to teach him the Vishanti Chains, a spell powered by the Vishanti. A system notification appeared as Wang Yang examined the chains, offering him a talent fragment for the spell.
Wang Yang learned the Vishanti Chains almost immediately, stunning Hamir, who had expected the spell to take him much longer. Hamir confirmed Wang Yang had mastered it and said another genius of Kamar-Taj would soon return so the two could meet.
Kaecilius returned to Kamar-Taj after driving off demons, where he clashed with Wong and learned that a new apprentice was even more talented than he was. Intrigued, Kaecilius asked his follower Cade about the apprentice and learned that Wong was teaching him.
Wong manipulated Kaecilius’s pride into seeking out Wang Yang and offering to teach him. Kaecilius brought Wang Yang to his room to assess his talent, while Wang Yang reflected on the grief and obsession that would eventually lead Kaecilius astray.
Kaecilius summoned Wang Yang to demonstrate his Mirror Dimension magic and teach him to turn its fragments into weapons. Wang Yang quickly mastered the Spatial Blade, leaving Kaecilius stunned by his talent.
Wang Yang learned Kaecilius's difficult Spatial Blade spell in under half an hour, astonishing its creator and making Kaecilius fear that the apprentice might surpass him. After Wang Yang returned to his room, Wong and Master Hamir warned him that Kaecilius followed a different path, and Wang Yang reassured them that he would not join him.
Wang Yang impressed Wong and Hamir by revealing that he had mastered Kaecilius's Spatial Blade after half a day of study. Kaecilius tested Wang Yang's improved control and began teaching him the powerful Sword of Vishanti.
Wang Yang fused a talent fragment for the Sword of Vishanti and quickly mastered the advanced spell after Kaecilius taught him. He demonstrated it for Kaecilius, who realized the apprentice had reached the strength of a Master of the Mystic Arts in only half a month.
Kaecilius, driven by his failure to match Wang Yang and his desperation to resurrect his family, attacked the Librarian and stole pages from the Ancient One’s forbidden books. Wang Yang learned that Kaecilius had betrayed Kamar-Taj as its Masters gathered to question him about their last meeting.
Wang Yang learned that Kaecilius had betrayed Kamar-Taj and suspected his own talent had helped drive Kaecilius to seek forbidden power. When Kaecilius trapped him in a refined Mirror Dimension, he revealed that he had come to recruit Wang Yang, who faced him without fear.
Wang Yang fought Kaecilius, absorbing his battle talent as they clashed and the surrounding area was reduced to ruins. After blocking Kaecilius’s strikes with the Rings of Raggadorr cast without using his hands, Wang Yang prepared to counterattack.
Wang Yang fought Kaecilius, who had been empowered and corrupted by Dormammu, and overwhelmed him with the Vishanti Holy Sword. Dormammu rescued Kaecilius as Wang Yang sent the Aikenrol Chaos Thunder Spirit into the closing rift, causing a blast that collapsed the Mirror Dimension and shook Kamar-Taj.
After the Mirror Dimension shattered near Wang Yang’s room, Kamar-Taj suspected he had fought Kaecilius but promised to keep quiet. A few days later, Mordo summoned Wang Yang and asked if he was a genius, leaving Wang Yang facing the gathered masters.
Mordo took over Wang Yang’s training and discovered that Wang Yang had already learned an astonishing range of spells, including advanced magic. He began teaching Wang Yang Crimson Bands, and a talent fragment for the spell appeared.
Wang Yang mastered the Crimson Bands in minutes, astonishing Mordo. Their lesson was interrupted when Hamir reported that the Chitauri were invading New York through a Portal, and Wang Yang realized Thanos might soon arrive.
The Avengers fought to contain the Chitauri invasion as more troops and warships poured through the portal over New York. Captain America assigned the team their roles, but the aliens overwhelmed their defenses, leaving civilians exposed across the city.
Mordo mobilized Kamar-Taj to join the fight against the Chitauri, sending sorcerers into the Mirror Dimension to contain the invasion. The sorcerers struggled against the enemy’s numbers while the Avengers and military forces fought the Chitauri still attacking New York.
The Avengers fought to hold back the Chitauri as their forces kept pouring through the Portal. Kamar-Taj and a group of inexperienced sorcerers were stranded in New York, and as Kamar-Taj stayed behind to cover their retreat, a flaming longsword descended.
Wang Yang rescued Kamar-Taj and the mages after Kamar-Taj’s Portal went off course, then escorted them toward the New York Sanctum. Near Stark Tower, Wang Yang saved Captain America from a Chitauri swarm with a devastating use of the Crimson Bands.
Wang Yang protected Captain America and the sorcerers from an enraged Hulk, then used magic to send Hulk falling through a portal. After Captain America learned civilians were trapped in Fengda District, Wang Yang stopped him before he could leave.
Wang Yang returned Hulk to Captain America, then faced a Chitauri warship threatening the group. As another ship charged its main cannon at them, Wang Yang used the Rings of Raggadorr to create an enormous, heavily reinforced shield, astonishing the Kamar-Taj sorcerers.
Wang Yang blocked an alien warship’s cannon blast and destroyed the ship with the Crimson Bands while the Avengers struggled against the remaining Chitauri forces. With Thor exhausted and more warships appearing, Captain America looked to Wang Yang for help.
Wang Yang destroyed two alien warships, declined an invitation to join the Avengers, and warned them that a Chitauri mothership remained. He escorted Kamar-Taj’s sorcerers to the New York Sanctum, then joined Wong on the front lines as alien warships prepared to attack.
