Mo Yan studied the Gluttony Demon Lord’s data and planned a custom dark form to balance his Angel Form, while searching for a source of authority that would not conflict with the Seven Great Demon Lords. His thoughts were interrupted by a powerful surge of data shooting into the sky.
Mo Yan watched a pillar of data light rise as Takato Matsuki and Guilmon set out for the Twin Towers to face the approaching Ultimate Digimon. As Mo Yan challenged Impmon’s doubts about the DigiDestined, a witch in red robes descended from the sky on a broom and called out to him.
Witchmon confronted Mo Yan and revealed that she had split herself into two DigiCores through a dangerous experiment, with their teacher's help. Mo Yan was shocked by the risk she had taken and regretted sharing his research on multiple DigiCores with SageMon.
Mo Yan fought Witchmon in her Darkness Domain and received the mythological and ancient data SageMon had prepared to help him advance his Twelve Digicores. He realized Witchmon had incapacitated Ice Wizardmon to take his place, while she insisted their teacher was unharmed.
Mo Yan fought Red Witchmon and BlackWitchmon with his ten DigiCores, then turned their attacks into data for an experiment. As Witchmon guarded him, a remarkably pure strand of data began to form within the wheel of light.
Mo Yan explained how he had combined Mythical Source Code, Ancient Data, and the power of his ten DigiCores to create new data with contradictory yet harmonious attributes. As the experiment reached its final stage, he altered its commands to give Witchmon a “little good fortune,” and the Holy Ring appeared.
Mo Yan used the wheel formed by “Ten Directions Annihilation” and the Holy Ring to inscribe unknown light-aligned data into Witchmon’s DigiCore, observing that her core data upgraded itself rather than evolving. Witchmon regained consciousness and secretly corrupted the data with darkness, causing it to connect to Mo Yan and begin inscribing itself into his data.
Mo Yan used the unknown data and Dark Digicore to create Dark Angemon, a dark counterpart to his Angel Form. When the two forms appeared together, they faced each other without fighting as Mo Yan made the remaining Digicores circle them and both angels released their power.
Mo Yan balanced the powers of light and darkness in his DigiCores, using the Gluttony Demon Lord’s dark data and discovering how each power could transform into the other. He set the two forces into a cycle of pursuit and conversion, beginning his path toward Holy-Demon Unity.
Wizard Mo Yan used the data vortex created by Yamaki’s Extermination Plan to begin forging his own Flame Sword. He concealed himself when familiar data signatures approached, as Winged Tiger appeared and Takato Matsuki and his companions arrived at the Twin Towers.
Wizard Mo Yan met TigerVespamon, who explained that Qinglongmon had created a separate version of himself using a Divine Jewel and warned that Mo Yan’s broad DigiCore specialization could hinder his progress. TigerVespamon revealed that he had come to help the DigiDestined gain mythological data, especially the future miko, whose potential interested Qinglongmon.
TigerVespamon tested the DigiDestined’s Digimon as part of Qinglongmon’s plan to grant them power, while Wizard Mo Yan struggled to shape chrono digi-alloy into his Flame Sword. As Takato Matsuki and Guilmon synchronized under pressure, Calumon’s Evolution Light triggered their Matrix Evolution.
Wizard Mo Yan used Great Growlmon’s Atomic Blaster to reshape chrono digi-alloy into the Flame Sword while TigerVespamon fought the Demon Dragon. As TigerVespamon’s avatar vanished, he delivered Qinglongmon’s order for Mo Yan to return to the Qinglong Sanctuary for a new mission.
Wizard Mo Yan used Calumon’s Evolution Light and the data vortex to evolve into Grand Mage Beast. Helicopters gathered to watch him, while the children below prepared to fight again.
Wizard Mo Yan used Spatial Isolation to cut off the Island Nation's military and Land of No Dust to suppress Guilmon and the other Digimon, leaving the children unable to make them digivolve. Impmon appeared among the children and blurted out that Mo Yan's old flame had arrived, then realized Mo Yan was standing behind him.
Wizard Mo Yan confronted Impmon and admitted that he had suppressed the Digimon cards and evolution, explaining his hostility toward human surveillance. The children struggled to understand his identity and motives before he linked his teleportation spell to Impmon’s and vanished with him.
Impmon fought Dark Impmon, a copy created from the fears and memories he had buried, inside the chaos of the Four Elements Crystal Ball. As Wizard Mo Yan watched, Impmon confronted his painful memories of Xiao Ai and A Zhen, and Mo Yan prepared Evolution Light as Impmon’s resolve solidified.
Impmon confronted the Dark Impmon born from his own past and chose to stop running from his fears. After absorbing Dark Impmon and a mass of white light, Impmon evolved into Wizardmon.
Wizardmon evolved from Impmon and discussed Digimon evolution with Wizard Mo Yan, who explained why Wizardmon’s original form was the best starting point for studying subspecies forms. The chapter ended with Wizard Mo Yan revealing that the Twelve Digicores represented divine power and the Digital World’s blessing.
Wizard Mo Yan explained the meaning of divine titles and the burdens Digimon faced as intelligent life, then gave Wizardmon a mark granting access to his Knowledge Treasury. Wizardmon received the authorization and learned what it was for.
Wizard Mo Yan explained the purpose of databases in the Digital World and gave Wizardmon access to his Knowledge Treasury. He encouraged Wizardmon to study independently, and Wizardmon left determined to train and search for Xiao Ai and A Zhen.
Mo Yan’s evolved Wizard Digicore helped Flame Angemon and Dark Angemon take physical form, but the reunion of their DigiCores triggered a much larger transformation. After all twelve DigiCores gathered, they formed a dodecahedron around Mo Yan’s data and began a higher-level unification that was still settling at the chapter’s end.
Mo Yan emerged from absorbing ancient and mythological data in his Grand Mage Beast form, while Dark Witchmon boldly clung to and teased him. After restoring their surroundings to the park, Mo Yan sensed Sandiramon and teleported with Dark Witchmon to investigate.
Mo Yan and Dark Witchmon used a time-stopping spell to speak privately with Sandiramon, who was fighting Takato Matsuki and the others. After discussing his doubts about Zhuqiaomon’s plans and evolving independently, Mo Yan left with Dark Witchmon, while Sandiramon suspected Mo Yan had noticed something and anticipated future encounters.
Takato Matsuki and the others defeated Sandiramon in the underground tunnel, while Mo Yan watched from afar and kept his presence hidden. After Sandiramon vanished, the group decided to ask Mo Yan about the Deva, and Dark Witchmon questioned Mo Yan about Sandiramon's strange behavior.
