Arc 2The Faith Expo and Flight 37

Solomon gathered new abilities while moving between Vought, Butcher’s investigation, and the Faith Expo, where he killed Ezekiel and discovered a baby receiving Compound V. After learning the truth behind Flight 37 from Maeve, he realized Hughie was headed to question an impostor posing as Ezekiel and warned Butcher too late to stop him from sending Hughie.

  • Solomon defeated Blindspot, gained echolocation, and used the ability to hear across Vought Tower.
  • Homelander and Maeve abandoned Flight 37 after the controls were destroyed, and all 123 passengers died in the crash.
  • Solomon exposed Mesmer’s betrayal to Butcher’s group, then declined to join their investigation into Compound V.
  • Solomon read Ezekiel’s memories, learned Compound V had gone to Mercy Hospital, and killed him before finding an infant receiving the drug there.
  • Solomon gained abilities from The Deep and several Supes at the club, then learned from Gecko about experimental Supes in Vought’s research department.
  • At the Flight 37 memorial, Solomon confronted Maeve with the possibility that Homelander had deliberately destroyed the plane’s controls, and she recognized the truth.
  • Maeve told Solomon about Homelander’s actions and revealed weaknesses of The Seven before kissing him and pinning him to the sofa.
  • After seeing Ezekiel on television, Solomon called Hughie but got no answer, then warned Butcher that Ezekiel was dead and an impostor was at the Faith Expo, only to learn Butcher had already sent Hughie there.
Chapters 26–50 Vol. 1 Read

Ch. 26Godolkin University!

Solomon adjusted to his level 2 strength and assessed how his abilities compared with The Seven. After deciding Godolkin University could help him grow stronger, he asked Ashley to let him visit, but she refused because he had not yet officially replaced Translucent.

  • Solomon shattered a glass while testing his newly increased strength, then adjusted to level 2 strength in one day with help from Self-Duplication.
  • Solomon estimated his strength against Homelander and considered which abilities he could gain from A-Train, The Deep, and Starlight.
  • Solomon searched Vought Tower for Starlight, learned from Ashley that she had no work scheduled, and guessed she was on a date with Hughie.
  • Solomon saw an advertisement for Godolkin University and decided its Supe students would give him opportunities to grow stronger and seize abilities.
  • Solomon asked Ashley to let him go to Godolkin University, but she refused because he was still a stand-in for Translucent; Solomon asked when he could officially replace him.

Ch. 27Blindspot!

Solomon pressured Ashley to find him Supes to fight, so she chose Blindspot, whose super hearing could counter his invisibility. At the training room, Blindspot mocked Solomon and repeated a boastful line, leaving Solomon to warn Ashley that Blindspot had made a fatal mistake.

  • Solomon threatened to go to Godolkin University unless Ashley arranged fights with Supes, and Ashley reluctantly agreed to find him an opponent.
  • Ashley summoned Blindspot, and Solomon recognized him as a skilled fighter whose hearing could reveal an invisible opponent.
  • Ashley told Solomon he could fight a Supe every day if he defeated Blindspot, and Solomon accepted the deal.
  • Blindspot demonstrated his javelin accuracy, then mocked Solomon and claimed his super hearing made invisibility useless.
  • Solomon challenged Blindspot and warned Ashley that Blindspot would already be dead if someone else had heard his boast.

Ch. 28A double strike to the ears!

Solomon challenged Blindspot to prove his super hearing and effortlessly overpowered him, then ruptured his eardrums and acquired echolocation. He left Ashley demanding a better candidate for The Seven, while using his new ability to perceive the people and rooms around him.

  • Solomon taunted Blindspot and promised to give him a spot in The Seven if he won, despite Ashley warning that he had no authority to make the offer.
  • Blindspot attacked Solomon with a throwing dart and an iron javelin, but Solomon’s skin repelled the dart and his strength drove Blindspot backward.
  • Solomon yanked Blindspot forward and struck both his ears, rupturing his eardrums and leaving him convulsing on the ground.
  • Solomon acquired echolocation and ordered Ashley to bring a qualified candidate for The Seven the next day.
  • Ashley objected that Solomon had nearly killed Blindspot, but Solomon argued that Blindspot’s arrogance would have caused trouble for Vought and Ashley.
  • Solomon discovered that echolocation let him perceive the floor’s layout, its occupants, their movements, and their conversations.

Ch. 29Echolocation!

Solomon struggled to control his newly heightened hearing while Homelander and Queen Maeve responded to a hijacked flight. The passengers celebrated Homelander after he killed the last hijacker, while the plane remained in danger with its door torn open.

  • Solomon saw that his strength and defense had risen slightly and his hearing had reached level 2.5, overwhelming him with sounds from the whole floor.
  • Queen Maeve checked on Solomon, then Madelyn called her and Homelander over; Homelander gave Solomon a knowing look after hearing Maeve mention the ladies' room.
  • Madelyn announced that Paris-to-Chicago Flight 37 had been hijacked, and Solomon returned to his apartment to learn to control his hearing.
  • The hijackers' attack left the plane's door open, and the rushing air pulled one hijacker out and nearly dragged another away.
  • Queen Maeve rescued the second hijacker and killed him, while Homelander killed the final attacker with his heat vision.
  • The passengers cheered Homelander, believing he had come to save them.

Ch. 30Flight 37!

After Homelander and Maeve stopped the hijacking, a surviving hijacker killed the captain before Homelander destroyed the cockpit controls, leaving the plane uncontrollable. Homelander refused to risk saving the passengers and urged Maeve to leave as the aircraft plunged out of control.

  • Homelander reassured the passengers while Maeve suspected another hijacker remained and followed him to the cockpit.
  • Maeve and Homelander found a hijacker holding the captain at gunpoint, and the hijacker accidentally shot the captain before Homelander killed him with his heat vision.
  • Homelander's lasers destroyed the control panel, and Maeve discovered she could not contact ground control or fly the plane.
  • Maeve asked Homelander to stabilize the aircraft or carry the passengers to safety, but he argued that saving them was impossible and their mission was over.
  • The plane plunged in a powerful air current, Homelander continued reassuring the passengers while secretly abandoning them, and he punched the cabin door off as he urged Maeve to hurry.

Ch. 31I'll Laser You All to Death!

Homelander threatened the passengers aboard the failing plane and left with Maeve, allowing all 123 people to die. Back at Vought Tower, Solomon overheard A-Train seeking information about Frenchie and realized he needed to intervene before Butcher’s group made a dangerous mistake.

  • Maeve tried to save two little girls, but Homelander refused and threatened to laser the passengers who approached them.
  • Maeve left with Homelander, and they watched the plane crash into the Atlantic Ocean, killing everyone aboard.
  • Solomon spent a day and night learning to control his superhearing, then overheard A-Train asking about a Frenchman.
  • Solomon suspected Mesmer was about to inform Vought about Butcher’s group and decided to act before their investigation went further.
  • Solomon’s original body ran to a secluded alley, where A-Train questioned a bearded man about Frenchie and Butcher, whom he wanted to capture and blame for The Female’s death.

Ch. 32Memory Reading!

Mesmer agreed to give A-Train information about Butcher’s group in exchange for Homelander’s help returning to Vought, but Solomon knocked him unconscious and gained his Memory Reading ability. Solomon warned Butcher about Mesmer’s betrayal and began reading his memories, while Butcher and the others reacted tensely to the news.

  • Mesmer showed A-Train a photo of Frenchie, confirmed he was one of the men A-Train sought, and said he would share information only with Homelander.
  • A-Train agreed to pass Mesmer’s request to Homelander and sped away, after which Solomon appeared and knocked Mesmer unconscious.
  • Solomon gained Memory Reading from Mesmer and considered how the ability and its spirit attribute could help him gather intelligence and resist mental attacks.
  • Solomon called Butcher, told him Mesmer had met with A-Train, and warned that Mesmer had a video showing the group’s faces.
  • Solomon began reading Mesmer’s memories as Mesmer showed signs of pain, while Butcher, Frenchie, Mother’s Milk, and Hughie grew tense over the warning.

Ch. 33Interrogating Mesmer!

After learning Mesmer had been in contact with A-Train, Butcher and the others confronted him and questioned what he had revealed. A-Train’s message warned that Homelander would arrive at their rooftop at nine that night, leaving Mesmer facing Butcher’s fury.

  • Butcher told the group that Mesmer had sold them out to A-Train, then led them to Solomon, who had captured Mesmer.
  • Solomon gave Butcher Mesmer’s phone, and the group found a video showing their faces.
  • Mother's Milk beat Mesmer and demanded to know what he had told A-Train, while Mesmer insisted he had revealed nothing.
  • Butcher threatened Mesmer and questioned whether he had gone to A-Train or A-Train had approached him.
  • A-Train messaged Butcher that Homelander would be on their rooftop at nine that night, and Butcher threatened Mesmer with death.

Ch. 34Another invitation!

Solomon helped Butcher’s group expose Mesmer’s betrayal and rescued Hughie and the others from being discovered by Homelander. After learning they planned to investigate a Compound V lead at the Faith Expo, Solomon refused to join, but Butcher and the others urged him to come along.

  • Mesmer confessed that he had offered A-Train information about Frenchie, and Solomon led Hughie away while Butcher dealt with Mesmer.
  • Hughie told Solomon how frightened he was, and Solomon offered to help him if he needed it.
  • Mother's Milk thanked Solomon for exposing Mesmer and explained that the group had traced Compound V to the Samaritan's Embrace and planned to investigate its Faith Expo.
  • Solomon declined to go to the Faith Expo, intending to avoid getting further involved with Butcher's group.
  • Butcher pleaded with Solomon to join them, while Frenchie, Mother's Milk, and Hughie looked on expectantly.

Ch. 35Butcher Noticed Something Was Wrong!

Butcher grew suspicious of Solomon’s conveniently timed involvement and sent Frenchie and Kimiko after him, but Solomon escaped and headed to find Ezekiel. Back at Vought Tower, Homelander confronted Solomon’s double about his failed surveillance of Maeve and ordered him to keep watching her.

  • Solomon refused Butcher’s offer to help take on Homelander and walked away.
  • Butcher suspected Solomon’s encounter with A-Train and Mesmer had been deliberately arranged, so Frenchie and Kimiko followed him.
  • Frenchie found no trace of Solomon, who watched him leave from the shadows and decided to look for Ezekiel at the Faith Expo venue.
  • Solomon returned to Vought Tower and woke his double, only to find Homelander waiting beside the bed.
  • Homelander threatened Solomon’s double over his supposed failure to gather information, then ordered him to monitor Maeve and report everything she did.

Ch. 36The flaw in memory reading!

Solomon went to the Faith Expo to find Ezekiel and used his memory-reading ability to discover that Compound V had been delivered to Mercy Hospital. When Ezekiel detected the intrusion and attacked, Solomon struck him down before he could report what happened.

  • After Homelander left, Solomon ignored the order to spy on Maeve and went to the Faith Expo to look for Ezekiel.
  • Solomon found Ezekiel in his RV and asked him to arrange an appearance at the expo.
  • While reading Ezekiel's memories, Solomon learned that Compound V had been sent to the pediatric intensive care unit at Mercy Hospital.
  • Ezekiel sensed Solomon reading his memories and confronted him about Compound V.
  • Ezekiel attacked with his stretching arms, but Solomon used Super Speed and Bone Spikes to pierce Ezekiel's eye socket and knock him unconscious.

Ch. 37Killing Ezekiel!

Solomon killed Ezekiel, then left a shapeshifter wearing Ezekiel’s appearance to conceal the death while Homelander searched for the killer. Solomon slipped into Mercy Hospital’s pediatric intensive care unit and found Compound V being infused into an infant.

  • Solomon killed Ezekiel with a bone spike and acquired the rubberization ability.
  • A shapeshifter came out of the RV disguised as Ezekiel, but Ashley refused to give Translucent a slot at the Faith Expo.
  • A staff member found Ezekiel’s body, and Homelander questioned Ashley about Translucent’s visit before arranging for a shapeshifter to replace Ezekiel at the expo.
  • Homelander flew to Vought Tower to confront Solomon but could not find him.
  • Solomon turned invisible, entered Mercy Hospital, shrank to ant size, and slipped into the pediatric intensive care unit.
  • Solomon found an infant in a crib receiving blue Compound V through an IV.

Ch. 38Laser Eyes!

Solomon sedated a Supe baby at Mercy Hospital and acquired laser eyes, then left for Vought Tower after finding no other babies in the ward. Homelander confronted him at his apartment and accused him of killing Ezekiel.

  • Solomon injected a tiny dose of sedative into the baby's Compound V IV bag and gained laser eyes after the system recognized the Supe as defeated.
  • Solomon considered the risks of Compound V, then decided not to inject himself with it.
  • Solomon searched the pediatric intensive care unit but found only the one baby and wondered what had happened to the other infants.
  • Solomon left Mercy Hospital and returned to his apartment on the ninety-ninth floor of Vought Tower.
  • Homelander grabbed Solomon by the neck and accused him of killing Ezekiel.

Ch. 39Ability experiments!

Solomon convinced Homelander that he had not killed Ezekiel, then experimented with how his memory-reading ability affected a target. He discovered that sensing current thoughts went unnoticed, while reading past memories triggered a reaction even when the target was unconscious.

  • Homelander attacked Solomon over Ezekiel's death, but Solomon denied responsibility and flattered him until Homelander left.
  • Solomon recalled that a clone had impersonated him and spoken with Ashley about arranging an appearance, helping him evade suspicion.
  • Solomon tested his ability on a clone and found that sensing its current thoughts did not alert it, unlike reading its memories.
  • Solomon choked the clone unconscious and began reading its past memories, but the clone still showed signs of distress.

Ch. 40A Chance Encounter with The Deep!

Solomon tested his Memory Reading, laser eyes, and rubberization abilities before running into The Deep on his way out of Vought Tower. The Deep claimed he had helped Solomon join The Seven, and Solomon hinted that he knew what The Deep had done at the club.

  • Solomon confirmed that Memory Reading left its target with only a chaotic dream and decided that guiding someone’s thoughts was the safest way to gather information.
  • Solomon tested his laser eyes on his clone, causing only minor surface damage to the clone’s carbon-fiber super skin.
  • Solomon experimented with Ezekiel’s rubberization ability, stretching his arm to pull a chair closer and finding the power limited.
  • Solomon left Translucent’s apartment and met The Deep, who invited him to go to the club together.
  • The Deep claimed he had persuaded Homelander to let Solomon join The Seven and said he hoped they would become good brothers.
  • Solomon asked The Deep whether he knew what Solomon had done at the club.

Ch. 41The Deep's Superpower!

Solomon knocked out The Deep in an elevator and acquired Ocean Enhancement, then headed to a private room at the club. He arrived to meet the Supes he had previously beaten, while several others remained difficult to identify.

  • Solomon grabbed The Deep by the throat in the elevator, nearly suffocated him, then choked him unconscious.
  • Solomon acquired The Deep’s Ocean Enhancement and checked how the ability and his attributes had changed.
  • Solomon left The Deep unconscious in the elevator and went to the club.
  • The club manager welcomed Solomon and led him to a private room upstairs, where Solomon saw several of the Supes he had beaten before.

Ch. 42Super-Speed Healing +1!

Solomon knocked out five Supes at Vought and gained several minor abilities before Matthew Calbert’s super-speed healing upgraded the healing power he already had. Recognizing Matthew as Gecko, Solomon kept him in the room to drink with him.

  • Solomon knocked out Jiesang, Mojiesi, Sangtuoli, and Leon, gaining Sound Mimicry, Nail Growth, Emotion Scent, and Hair Color Replication.
  • Solomon struck Matthew Calbert, a Vought Research and Development assistant, and accidentally broke his neck.
  • Solomon gained super-speed healing +1, which doubled healing speed, enabled rapid regrowth of severed limbs, and allowed him to block pain.
  • Solomon recognized Matthew as Gecko, Starlight’s friend and a Vought experimental subject with powerful healing.
  • Gecko healed his broken neck, and Solomon told the manager to leave him there for drinks.

Ch. 43The Supes of the Research Department!

Solomon questioned Gecko about the Supes studied by Vought’s Research Department and learned about three unusual abilities. He became eager to obtain the constant-temperature and storage abilities, though the latter required stuffing objects into the user’s cheeks.

  • Gecko woke in Vought’s underground club and nervously joined Solomon for a drink.
  • Solomon asked whether the Research Department studied Supes, and Gecko admitted that it had several.
  • Gecko described a Supe who could break down and absorb poisons and toxins without harm.
  • Gecko told Solomon about a Supe whose body-surface temperature never changed, and Solomon decided he wanted that ability.
  • Gecko revealed that a third Supe stored objects in spaces inside his cheeks by stuffing them into his mouth, leaving Solomon disappointed by the method.

Ch. 44Light Eyes Strobe!

Solomon recruited Gecko to arrange meetings with Supe assistants and returned to his apartment to test how abilities could combine. He developed a strobe attack using Light Eyes and blinking, then became absorbed in refining it.

  • Solomon asked Gecko to invite Supe assistants from the research department to meet him, offering to cover the costs and protect Gecko from trouble.
  • Gecko accepted Solomon's offer of backing and celebrated after Solomon left the club.
  • Solomon returned to Translucent's apartment and tested a clone, finding that Rubberization and Carbon-Fiber Super Skin combined to block electricity and physical impacts.
  • Solomon activated Light Eyes and considered combining it with Laser Eyes, but discovered that Light Eyes temporarily blinded him.
  • Solomon rapidly blinked while using Light Eyes to create a strobe effect that could disrupt powerful opponents' vision, and he focused on improving the technique.

Ch. 45Memorial Service!

At a memorial for the victims of Transoceanic Flight 37, Maeve struggled with guilt while Solomon was ordered to keep watch over her. By the river, Solomon suggested Homelander could have reached the plane in time, leaving Maeve stunned by his apparent knowledge of the truth.

  • Homelander delivered a eulogy for the 123 victims of Transoceanic Flight 37 while Maeve relived her decision to abandon them.
  • Maeve left the memorial, and Homelander signaled Solomon to follow her; Solomon paused when Homelander read the names Paul Shetty and Lily Shetty.
  • Maeve shoved Solomon against a wall and warned him not to follow her, but he caught up and sat beside her by the river.
  • Maeve snapped at Solomon when he told her not to blame herself for the victims’ deaths.
  • Solomon said Homelander could have flown from Vought Tower to the Atlantic Ocean quickly, and Maeve stared at him in shock.

Ch. 46Queen Maeve!

Solomon confronted Maeve about her guilt and resentment toward Homelander, then tried to read her memories while offering to listen. After Homelander joined her, they talked privately before returning to the memorial service.

  • Solomon deduced that Maeve had been involved in the plane disaster and warned her that he would not expose her to Homelander.
  • Maeve denied knowing what Solomon meant and cautioned him to watch what he said around Homelander.
  • Solomon secretly used Memory Reading on Maeve and sensed her regret, anger, guilt, and wariness toward him.
  • Homelander found Solomon with Maeve, and Solomon left them alone while watching from a distance.
  • Homelander and Maeve spoke for about ten minutes, then returned to the square and resumed comforting the victims’ families.

Ch. 47Queen Maeve!!

After the memorial service, Homelander warned Solomon not to threaten members of The Seven and told him to keep watching Maeve. Maeve drove Solomon away from the square and confessed her regret over failing to save the passengers, but Solomon told her Homelander had never intended to rescue them.

  • After the memorial service, Homelander confronted Solomon about The Deep’s claim that Solomon had threatened to kill him.
  • Solomon assured Homelander that he had only meant to knock The Deep out and promised to report any future plans involving The Seven.
  • Homelander ordered Solomon to keep watching Maeve, then flew away.
  • Maeve invited Solomon to talk, and they left the square together in her car.
  • Maeve regretted that she had not been more decisive during the plane disaster, but Solomon told her she could not have saved the passengers and that Homelander had never intended to help them.

Ch. 48The cruel truth!

Maeve confessed her guilt over the plane crash, and Solomon revealed that Homelander had likely destroyed the controls on purpose. Maeve accepted the truth and drove on in cold silence.

  • Maeve told Solomon that Homelander had destroyed the plane’s controls while killing a hijacker, and blamed herself for the deaths of 123 passengers.
  • Solomon suggested that Homelander had deliberately destroyed the controls, prompting Maeve to stop the car and recall how precisely he could control his Laser Eyes.
  • Solomon explained that Homelander and Vought International had benefited from the crash by using it to gain influence and profit.
  • Maeve recognized the truth, apologized to an angry driver who then asked for a photo, and resumed driving with her anger concealed.

Ch. 49Black Noir's Allergen!

Solomon went to Maeve’s apartment and used a conversation about Homelander to learn Black Noir’s weakness. After Maeve revealed that Black Noir was allergic to almonds, she kissed Solomon and pinned him to the sofa.

  • Maeve brought Solomon to her apartment and invited him to drink with her.
  • Maeve blamed herself for the 123 people who died on the plane, and Solomon tried to comfort her by saying Homelander could cause another disaster.
  • Solomon argued that every member of the Seven had a weakness and used Memory Reading while speaking with Maeve.
  • Maeve told Solomon that Black Noir was allergic to almonds and that Homelander craved approval, then warned Solomon not to challenge Homelander.
  • Maeve kissed Solomon, stopped him from overpowering her, and pinned him to the sofa.

Ch. 50The forgotten matter!

Solomon realized Hughie was heading to the Faith Expo to threaten the disguised Shapeshifting Person and tried to warn him before his cover was exposed. Hughie was already face-to-face with Homelander, and Butcher learned too late that the real Ezekiel was dead.

  • Solomon saw footage of Ezekiel on television and remembered that Hughie planned to use a private video to demand information about Compound V.
  • Solomon rushed away from Maeve and called Hughie, but Hughie rejected the call while Homelander stood beside him.
  • Solomon called Butcher and warned him that Ezekiel was dead and that another Supe was impersonating him at the Faith Expo.
  • Butcher revealed that he had already sent Hughie to question Ezekiel about Compound V.
