Background / History

Yu Guanzhi is a direct descendant of the Yu Family who chose service to the Federation over the expectations of noble lineage. When Zang Xin questions his loyalty to Chen Yu, Yu offers no defense beyond his conduct, believing that loyalty, trust, and following the right person cannot be gained through bloodline or inherited status alone. 23 24

He had arrived in Ming Capital days before Chen Yu summoned him and waited without complaint despite being a rank-99 Limit Douluo and Central Legion commander. Upon receiving Chen Yu's order to move against the Blue Lightning Overlord Dragon Family, he immediately pledged the legion's obedience. 8

Yu Guanzhi understands the arrogance and shortsightedness of ancient noble clans because of his own family background. He recognizes that the Blue Lightning Overlord Dragon Family has mistaken its heritage and connections for protection against Chen Yu's authority. 9

Following the exposure of the Sea God Island trafficking case, Yu Guanzhi acknowledges why Chen Yu cannot automatically trust the Central Legion. Personality

Yu Guanzhi is composed under insult and provocation. He ignores the contempt of the Blue Lightning Overlord Dragon Family's collateral descendant and elders, instead having the arrogant descendant detained, waiting calmly for Long Yeyue's arrival, and recognizing that the clan does not understand Chen Yu's willingness to use force. 9

His loyalty to Chen Yu is personal rather than merely institutional. He concludes that the Central Legion will follow the Speaker because Chen Yu improved the soldiers' lives, making the Speaker a figure of faith within the army. 20 He acts decisively once orders are given, focusing not on whether Chen Yu's decisions should be carried out, but on how to carry them out. 20

Yu Guanzhi answers Chen Yu's summons in Ming Capital and leads the Central Legion to surround the Blue Lightning Overlord Dragon Family after it joins the factions demanding that Chen Yu apologize to Shrek. 8

He remains unmoved by the family's insults and detains an arrogant collateral descendant before waiting for Long Yeyue rather than beginning the attack prematurely. After Chen Yu kills Long Yeyue from afar, Yu Guanzhi manifests his brush martial soul, uses Suppress to incapacitate Yu Yuanxiao, and leads the legion's assault, resulting in the clan's annihilation, imprisonment of its members, and seizure of its assets. 9 10 11
