History

Uchiha crisis

Konoha initially faces severe internal distrust toward the Uchiha clan. Root surveils and attacks Uchiha Xingye, while Danzo advocates treating the clan as a threat; Xingye and Fugaku bring the matter before the Third Hokage and demand fair treatment for the Uchiha 1 4.

The Third Hokage agrees to investigate Root and increases Uchiha mission quotas to reinforce the clan's ties to the village. Despite this, Danzo continues preparing a plan to exterminate the Uchiha and falsely frame them as rebels 4 7 23.

Xingye exposes Danzo's evidence to Hiruzen, leading the Hokage to strip Danzo of his duties and initiate an investigation. When Danzo orders Root to raid the Uchiha compound, Konoha's forces eventually surround the Root base; Danzo is defeated and dies after using Izanagi 22 24.

Uchiha revival

Following Danzo's death, Konoha formally recognizes the Uchiha as a core village force. The Uchiha Police Force is upgraded into the Uchiha Guard Corps, while clan members are slated to enter major departments including Anbu, the military police, and advisory positions 22 25.

The clan's standing continues to improve after the Uchiha massacre is prevented. By the later peace period, the Uchiha are no longer ostracized and are described as one of Konoha's core strengths 30 45.

Wars and reconstruction

Konoha becomes an official opponent of the Akatsuki after Hiruzen supports Xingye's initiative to dismantle the organization 26. During the Akatsuki counterattack, Hidan and Kakuzu assault the Ninja Academy while Obito, Konan, and a Black Zetsu clone confront Xingye at Konoha's gates 30.

The village is damaged during the conflict with the Akatsuki. After Kaguya is subdued and the Ten-Tails sealed, Xingye personally oversees Konoha's reconstruction 44.

A year of peace follows, but Konoha remains vigilant against further Otsutsuki threats. Xingye and Hiruzen discuss preparations before Momoshiki and Kinshiki arrive near Earth 45.

Government and Security

• Hokage administration — The Third Hokage handles village infrastructure, mission assignments, and major political decisions during the early story 4.
• Root — Danzo's covert force conducts surveillance and assassination operations against the Uchiha before its leader's downfall 1 4 23 24.
• Anbu — Konoha's secret ninja force probes Xingye and the Uchiha through a combat assessment led by Anbu Captain Kakashi 6.
• Uchiha Guard Corps — Replaces the Uchiha Police Force as a core Konoha security force after the Uchiha's rehabilitation 22 25.
• Shinobi Allied Forces — Konoha joins the multinational force formed to confront Akatsuki and Black Zetsu. Xingye serves as commander, with the Kage acting as advisers 41.
• Shinobi United Government — Established after the Otsutsuki conflict; it is composed of the five Kage and administers affairs across the shinobi world 49.

• Hokage Building — Seat of the Hokage's office and the site of negotiations over Root's actions, Danzo's crimes, and Konoha's political response to the Uchiha crisis 4 22.
• Uchiha compound — Home of the Uchiha clan; targeted by Root during Danzo's attempt to fabricate a rebellion 23.
• Naka Shrine — Uchiha sacred site containing records of the clan's origins, history, and secret arts 5 17.
• Ninja Academy — Hosts Xingye's special class and becomes a target of Hidan and Kakuzu during the Akatsuki counterattack 11 12 30.
• Root base — Danzo's headquarters, later surrounded by the Third Hokage's forces during Danzo's final confrontation 24.

Relationships

• Uchiha clan — Initially mistrusted within the village; later restored as a recognized pillar of Konoha through the Uchiha Guard Corps and participation in key departments 4 22 25.
• Hiruzen Sarutobi — The Third Hokage mediates the Uchiha dispute, investigates Danzo, supports opposition to Akatsuki, and later recognizes Xingye's role in Konoha's future 4 22 26 44.
• Danzo and Root — A hostile internal faction that monitors and attacks Uchiha members, plots the clan's extermination, and attempts to frame it for rebellion 1 7 23.
• Sunagakure — Requests Konoha's support when Akatsuki targets Gaara; later joins Konoha and the other villages in the Shinobi Allied Forces 35 41.

New Era

At the ceremony establishing a new shinobi order, Konoha hosts leaders and shinobi from across the major villages. The five Kage award Xingye the Guardian of the Shinobi World medal, hostile relations among villages are abolished, and the Shinobi United Government, Shinobi United Academy, and Shinobi United Forces are announced 49.

Naruto is appointed Seventh Hokage, with Kakashi serving as a special adviser and Shikamaru as chief of staff. Itachi becomes a high-level adviser, while Sasuke returns as an important pillar of the village 49.
