Background / History

Di Jun was born from the Sun Star with Taiyi, both emerging as Three-Legged Golden Crows wreathed in True Sun Fire. A transmigrator, Di Jun initially believed that he and Taiyi could defy Hongjun and the Heavenly Dao while preserving a peaceful brotherhood. Both brothers received systems immediately after their birth, though they concealed their conflicting ambitions behind an affectionate façade 34.

The premature Dao–Devil conflict and the survival of the Three Thousand Chaos Demon Gods undermined Di Jun's assumptions about the Primordial World. After witnessing Heavenly Dao Shichen merge with the Heavenly Dao and learning that Pangu and the other Demon Gods remained alive, he abandoned his certainty that he was a chosen protagonist 38 57.

At Hongjun's second sermon, Di Jun chose survival over his original ambition. He destroyed his own law cultivation, fell from early-stage Primordial Origin Golden Immortal to peak Great Luo Golden Immortal, and entered the Method of Slashing the Three Corpses by severing his Evil Corpse. He then confessed his identity as a transmigrator to Hongjun 58.

Heavenly Dao Shichen accepted Di Jun's proposal and assigned him to covertly target transmigrators with systems, extracting their opportunities for the Primordial World. Shichen accelerated Di Jun's time by ten millionfold, allowing him to cultivate the Good and Self Corpses and reach peak Quasi-Sage 59.

After attaining Sagehood, Di Jun opened the Primordial World's barrier and led the Heavenly Court into the myriad heavens, seeking to expand its influence and give his officials opportunities to attain Sage fruition. Under Shichen's orders, he established the Heavenly Court's first branch temple in the Tianyuan Divine World 107 111.

During the conflict over Hongyun's Hongmeng Purple Qi, Di Jun learned that Hongyun's fate had become connected to Time Dao Venerable Shichen. He consequently protected Hongyun from the Netherworld's Ancestral Witches, recruited him into the Ancient Heavenly Court, and received Shichen's recognition for his actions 154 155 156.

Shichen subsequently bestowed a drop of his true-body essence blood and an inheritance method upon Di Jun, formally making him an inheritor of the Time Dao Venerable's lineage. The reward freed Di Jun from the limitations of his Heavenly Dao Sage position and allowed him to cultivate laws alongside his Sage path 156.

After the Tribulation spread across the Primordial World and the Cosmic Sea, Di Jun initially chose to honor his Saint Ascension Oath rather than preserve the Ancient Heavenly Court's strength. He ordered its forces to return to the Primordial World, restore order, and protect living beings suffering amid the war 197.

Di Jun and Hong Yun then led the Ancient Heavenly Court in rescuing weaker and innocent beings instead of joining the factions fighting over Chaos Origin. Their actions inspired the Immortal Court to begin its own rescue efforts for the sake of merit and reputation 198.

As the Tribulation's course intensified, Di Jun abruptly shifted from rescue and relief to lethal suppression of beings caught in the continuing conflict. Hong Yun followed his action by deploying the Immortal-Execution Sword Array over the surrounding battlefield 207.

After the Tribulation ended, Shichen established the Chaos Academy and initially omitted Di Jun from the announced student body. When Di Jun believed that his service had been disregarded, Shichen called him forward and accepted him as his chief personal disciple, making him the senior brother of Shichen's lineage within the academy 210.

Shichen then formally gave Di Jun a strand of Chaos Origin and a complete Time Law Crystal as an initiation gift. These treasures further established his privileged position within Shichen's lineage and provided major resources for his future cultivation 211.

Personality

Di Jun begins as ambitious and idealistic, wanting to rewrite the fate he believes awaits himself and Taiyi. His early concern for his brother is genuine, but it is gradually displaced by suspicion after he learns that Taiyi is also a transmigrator with a system 34 58 59.

After accepting Heavenly Dao Shichen's task, Di Jun becomes markedly pragmatic and calculating. He conceals his true peak Quasi-Sage cultivation, recruits allies through carefully tailored offers, and treats other transmigrators as resources that can be made to benefit the Primordial World 59 60 61 87.

Despite his ruthlessness toward invading gods and hostile factions, he repeatedly identifies the Human Race's survival as a priority. He intervenes against the Demon Court's massacre of humans, vows to protect them upon becoming a Sage, and recognizes that the Human Race's fate is connected to that of the Heavenly Court 94 95 105.

Di Jun and Taiyi are born as Three-Legged Golden Crows, each secretly a transmigrator with a system. Di Jun initially intends to oppose Hongjun and the Heavenly Dao while maintaining peace with Taiyi 34.

Disillusionment and Submission

The revelation that the Three Thousand Chaos Demon Gods are alive destroys Di Jun's confidence in his presumed destiny. He adopts the Three Corpses path, confesses to Hongjun, and accepts Heavenly Dao Shichen's mission to target anomalies 57 58 59.

Establishment of the Heavenly Court

War with Taiyi and the Demon Court

Di Jun openly reveals to Taiyi that they are fellow transmigrators, ending any remaining pretense of brotherhood. Their conflict escalates through competing formations and culminates in the destruction of Taiyi by Hongjun's punishment after Pangu intervenes 77 96 97 98.

Sagehood

Following the calamity, Di Jun receives Primordial Violet Qi and ultimately becomes the Heavenly Court's first Sage. He declares his duty to uphold balance and protect the Human Race across the Primordial World 98 105.

Opening of the Myriad Heavens

Di Jun opens the Primordial World's barrier to the three great universes and leads the Heavenly Court into the myriad worlds. He presents expansion as both a means to strengthen the Ancient Heavenly Court and an opportunity for its officials to pursue Sage fruition 107.

In the Tianyuan Divine World, he protects Star Demon God and Seven Luminaries Demon God from Main God Space intruders, annihilates most of the offenders, and takes one captive for prolonged punishment. Following Shichen's arrival, he is ordered to establish the Heavenly Court's first branch temple in that universe 109 110 111.

Protection of Hongyun

When the Netherworld's Ancestral Witches seek Hongyun's Hongmeng Purple Qi, Di Jun deploys the complete Heavenly Stellar Array to oppose them. Upon recognizing Hongyun's connection to Shichen, he places the Ancient Heavenly Court's protection behind Hongyun and recruits him after Hongjun's decree halts the fighting 152 153 154 155.

Time Dao Venerable's Lineage Inheritance

Shichen's phantom acknowledges Di Jun's contributions to the Dao Court and rewards him with true-body essence blood and an inheritance method. Di Jun becomes a formal inheritor of the Time Dao Venerable's lineage, gains freedom from the restrictions of his Sage position, and declares the Ancient Heavenly Court's descent to govern the world 156.

Revelation to Hongyun

After entering the Soaring Heaven Palace, Di Jun reveals to Hongyun that he is also a transmigrator and possesses a choice system. He explains that Fuxi, Wu An, and Taiyi are likewise anomalies, and that the Dao Court has been manipulating these system-bearers for the Primordial World's benefit 157.

Return During the Primordial World Tribulation

When war over Chaos Origin ravages the Primordial World and the Cosmic Sea, Di Jun chooses to honor his oath as a Sage. He orders the Ancient Heavenly Court's forces to return from the myriad worlds and leads them in rescuing civilians and weaker beings rather than exploiting the calamity for power 197 198.

As the Tribulation advances, Di Jun later abandons restraint and initiates a ruthless suppression of combatants and other beings caught in the conflict. This shift is followed by Hong Yun's deployment of the Immortal-Execution Sword Array across the battlefield 207.

Chief Personal Disciple of Shichen

After the Tribulation, Shichen establishes the Chaos Academy and names its initial students. Di Jun is initially omitted, causing him to believe that his service has been forgotten. Shichen then publicly recognizes his diligence and immeasurable merit, accepting him as chief personal disciple and senior brother of Shichen's lineage within the academy 210.

Shichen follows the appointment by granting Di Jun a strand of Chaos Origin and a complete Time Law Crystal. Di Jun kneels and kowtows nine times, swearing lifelong loyalty and vowing never to betray his master 210 211.
