Background / History

Taiyi was born from the Sun Star as a Three-Legged Golden Crow beside Di Jun. Both had transmigrated into the Primordial World and received systems, but their outwardly cordial brotherhood concealed opposing ambitions. Taiyi resolved to become the sole ruler of the Demon Court, claim Xihe and Changxi, and eventually kill Hongjun and the Heavenly Dao 34.

He used foreknowledge and system-gained strength to approach Zulong during the Dragon–Phoenix conflict, warning that the war would destroy the Dragon Clan. By this point, his cultivation had already risen to the mid-stage Great Luo Golden Immortal 36.

Appearance

Taiyi commonly appeared as a black-robed youth wearing a golden crown, with faint True Sun Fire circling his body 36. His innate true form was a Three-Legged Golden Crow born from the Sun Star 34.

Personality

Taiyi was intensely ambitious and possessive. From his birth, he regarded the Demon Emperor's position as rightfully his and treated Xihe and Changxi as prizes he was entitled to claim. He also believed that the Chaos Demon Gods, Hongjun, and the Heavenly Dao would ultimately become stepping stones beneath him 34 58.

He was impulsive when opportunities appeared, willing to endanger allies for treasure. When he seized the Heaven and Earth Profound Yellow Linglong Pagoda, he fled immediately and left Di Jun to face the anger of the Three Pure Ones and Ancestral Witches alone 46.

His resentment toward Di Jun deepened into jealousy. Taiyi later admitted that Di Jun's Heavenly Court, its destiny, and the reverence shown to his brother were what he truly envied 96.

Taiyi interrupted the struggle between the Three Pure Ones and Ancestral Witches at Mount Buzhou after his system issued a treasure-seizing mission. He used the Chaos Bell to assault the pagoda's formation, took the treasure when Shichen's Dao avatar secretly opened it, and abandoned Di Jun to the ensuing battle 46.

Founding the Demon Court

After Di Jun established the Heavenly Court, Taiyi answered by founding the Demon Court in Tang Valley. He used the Chaos Bell to suppress the court's fortune and proclaimed that Demon Race members who refused submission would be killed 61.

Coercing the Moon Star Marriage

Taiyi demanded that Xihe and Changxi become his Dao companions, threatening the Moon Star with the Demon Court's army. Xihe eventually agreed to marry him so Changxi could remain free, while Taiyi prepared a heavenly wedding and sought Nuwa's officiation 61 75.

Heavenly Wedding Upheaval

The Heavenly Court and Witch Clan attacked Taiyi's wedding. He was forced to defend himself against Di Jun, Dijiang, and the Ancestral Witches, then expended the Chaos Bell's origin and Demon Court fate to deploy the Great Sun Heaven-Burning Formation 76 77.

Slaughter of the Human Race

In response to the Witch Clan's formidable bodies, Taiyi ordered the Demon Court to refine Human Race blood essence and souls into Witch-Slaying Swords. He personally refined hundreds of millions of humans into an ultimate Witch-Slaying Sword, driving several Demon Sages to defect 92.

Fall During the Witch–Demon War

Abandoned by much of the Demon Court, Taiyi fought Di Jun, the Heavenly Court, and the Ancestral Witches. He burned system origin to attain peak ninth-level Grand Luo Golden Immortal cultivation, but Pangu's arrival and Hongjun's intervention ended his resistance 96 97 98.

Hongjun's Immortal Dao Divine Punishment shattered Taiyi's formation, blasted away his Chaos Bell and pagoda, dispersed his primordial spirit, and destroyed his system. His body became a blazing sun, while his true spirit origin was retained for his eventual re-formation 98.
