Background / History

Fuxi is a transmigrator who awoke as the serpent-tailed Fuxi of the Primordial World after falling asleep during overtime work in his previous life. He and Nuwa took form together at the southern foot of Mount Buzhou, where he immediately resolved to protect her and oppose the fate he associated with Hongjun and the Heavenly Dao 34.

Before fully understanding the altered state of the Primordial World, Fuxi attempted to walk upstream through the River of Time. Shichen stopped him, exposed his identity as a transmigrator, and warned that forcing his way to Pangu's world-creation time node would extinguish his soul. Fuxi withdrew after Shichen advised him to seek Hongjun 19.

During the Dao-Devil conflict, an entity identifying itself as Fate bestowed the Innate Bagua and the path of prophetic fate upon him. The same entity made clear that Fuxi was a pawn whose trajectory had been altered, threatening to suppress him in the River of Fate should he disrupt the Primordial World 38.

Fuxi later attended Hongjun's sermons with Nuwa, claimed no Prayer Mat for himself, and guarded her while she took the fourth one 49. He became one of Hongjun's personal disciples, receiving a strand of Hongmeng Purple Qi 60.

After revealing his transmigrator identity to Hongjun, Fuxi begged for Nuwa to be allowed to prove the Dao through the laws of Creation rather than be bound to merit-bestowed Sagehood. Heavenly Dao Shichen summoned the Fate Demon God, who transferred Nuwa's destined Sage position to Fuxi 58 59.

Following the rise of Human Dao, Fuxi was formally selected by Heavenly Dao Shichen and the Fate Dao Venerable to become the Human Sovereign. He traveled to the Human Race's ancestral land to guide humanity and refine his Hongmeng Purple Qi through the merit of enlightenment 124.

Fuxi lived among the Human Race in the guise of an ordinary innate human. By teaching writing, medicine, mathematics, geography, calendars, solar terms, and other knowledge from his previous life, he accelerated the Human Race's development and helped establish its civilization alongside Shennong and Xuanyuan 127.

The three human progenitors later entrusted the Kongtong Seal to Fuxi. Its activation gathered Human Dao destiny and merit, enabling him to fully refine his Hongmeng Purple Qi and ascend as a Sage bearing the title of Human Emperor 127.

As Human Emperor, Fuxi attempted to protect Human Dao from being absorbed into the authority of the Heavenly Dao. He opposed the Sages' attempt to bind their lineages to the Human Race, but Heavenly Dao Shichen rejected the arrangement and limited the Sages to the role of teachers 127 128.

During the later Investiture of the Gods Tribulation, Fuxi initially attempted to remain in seclusion while the Human Race and other factions fought. The weakening of Human Dao fortune and the deaths of countless humans forced him to reassess his position. He recognized that his attachment to humanity had distorted his Dao Heart, but continued to intervene to preserve Human Dao 196.

When the Shang Dynasty approached the fate associated with King Zhou, Fuxi removed Di Xin's primordial spirit and placed the soul of another transmigrator into Di Xin's body. He intended for the replacement soul to alter the dynasty's destined course, promising to restore Di Xin's primordial spirit afterward 196.

Heavenly Dao Shichen subsequently identified Fuxi as an anomaly and warned that seeking an independent Human Dao carried a price. Zulong and Dijiang then attacked Fuxi's cave abode, forcing him and Nuwa to enter the Tribulation despite their desire to remain uninvolved 200.

Fuxi's Innate Bagua Diagram was shattered by the combined attack, and he was severely injured. Nuwa intervened to protect him, but both siblings were ultimately compelled to participate in the wider conflict as representatives of the Human Race 200.

After the Tribulation ended, Fuxi remained under Heavenly Dao Shichen's scrutiny because of his use of Di Xin and the transmigrator soul. He was present when Shichen established the Chaos Academy, although the initial list of students focused on other major Primordial World experts 210 211.

Personality

Fuxi is intensely protective of Nuwa. His decisions—from tracing the River of Time to accepting the Three Corpses path and confessing to Hongjun—are driven by his determination to keep her free from manipulation 19 44 58.

His knowledge of a different “original” future leaves him suspicious of Hongjun, the Heavenly Dao, and Sagehood by merit. However, repeated encounters with Shichen and the surviving Chaos Demon Gods force him to abandon his assumptions and adapt to the reality of this altered world 48 57.

He can also be calculating when circumstances allow. When Taiyi requested Nuwa officiate his heavenly wedding, Fuxi exploited Taiyi's dependence on Hongjun's disciples and secured nine top-grade innate spiritual treasures in return 75.

After becoming involved with the Human Race, Fuxi demonstrates a strong sense of responsibility toward humanity. He refuses to let other Sage lineages share Human Dao fortune without accepting equivalent risks, requiring them to share the Human Race's prosperity and ruin alike before Heavenly Dao Shichen rejects the proposed oath 127 128.

Though he respects Shichen's overwhelming authority, Fuxi remains unsettled by the merger of the Heavenly Dao and the Time Dao Venerable. He distinguishes between the emotional but impartial Dao Venerable he once met and the emotionless yet partial Heavenly Dao Shichen 128.

Fuxi's devotion to the Human Race eventually becomes an attachment that affects his judgment. After seeing human deaths across countless worlds, he admits that he has become too emotionally invested in humanity and has forgotten the existence of higher powers governing the Primordial World 196.

Despite recognizing this flaw, Fuxi remains willing to violate an individual's autonomy for the sake of Human Dao's survival. His removal of Di Xin's primordial spirit demonstrates the increasingly desperate and morally compromising measures he is prepared to take as Human Emperor 196.
