Background / History

Fuxi is a transmigrator who awoke as the serpent-tailed Fuxi of the Primordial World after falling asleep during overtime work in his previous life. He and Nuwa took form together at the southern foot of Mount Buzhou, where he immediately resolved to protect her and oppose the fate he associated with Hongjun and the Heavenly Dao 34.

Before fully understanding the altered state of the Primordial World, Fuxi attempted to walk upstream through the River of Time. Shichen stopped him, exposed his identity as a transmigrator, and warned that forcing his way to Pangu's world-creation time node would extinguish his soul. Fuxi withdrew after Shichen advised him to seek Hongjun 19.

During the Dao-Devil conflict, an entity identifying itself as Fate bestowed the Innate Bagua and the path of prophetic fate upon him. The same entity made clear that Fuxi was a pawn whose trajectory had been altered, threatening to suppress him in the River of Fate should he disrupt the Primordial World 38.

Fuxi later attended Hongjun's sermons with Nuwa, claimed no Prayer Mat for himself, and guarded her while she took the fourth one 49. He became one of Hongjun's personal disciples, receiving a strand of Hongmeng Purple Qi 60.

After revealing his transmigrator identity to Hongjun, Fuxi begged for Nuwa to be allowed to prove the Dao through the laws of Creation rather than be bound to merit-bestowed Sagehood. Heavenly Dao Shichen summoned the Fate Demon God, who transferred Nuwa's destined Sage position to Fuxi 58 59.

Appearance

Fuxi is a handsome, refined man with a human upper body and a serpent tail. When encountered in the River of Time, he wore plain Daoist robes marked with faint Five Elements and Eight Trigrams patterns 19 34.

  • Human body with a serpent tail 34
  • Refined, handsome appearance 34
  • Daoist robes bearing Five Elements and Eight Trigrams motifs 19
  • Often manifests the Innate Bagua around himself 38 49

Personality

Fuxi is intensely protective of Nuwa. His decisions—from tracing the River of Time to accepting the Three Corpses path and confessing to Hongjun—are driven by his determination to keep her free from manipulation 19 44 58.

His knowledge of a different “original” future leaves him suspicious of Hongjun, the Heavenly Dao, and Sagehood by merit. However, repeated encounters with Shichen and the surviving Chaos Demon Gods force him to abandon his assumptions and adapt to the reality of this altered world 48 57.

He can also be calculating when circumstances allow. When Taiyi requested Nuwa officiate his heavenly wedding, Fuxi exploited Taiyi's dependence on Hongjun's disciples and secured nine top-grade innate spiritual treasures in return 75.

Abilities & Skills

Innate Bagua and Prophetic Foresight

Fuxi received the Innate Bagua and the path of prophetic fate from the entity calling itself Fate 38.

  • Perceives aspects of the past and future through prophetic fate 38
  • Uses the Innate Bagua as a defensive formation while guarding Nuwa 49
  • Used the diagram as the vessel for slashing out his Evil Corpse 58
  • Its origin is tied to the Fate Demon God's manipulation of his destiny 38 58

Time Tracing

Fuxi has attempted to travel against the current of the River of Time to investigate the altered history of the Primordial World 19 48.

  • Can trace backward through the River of Time after reaching Daluo Golden Immortal 48
  • Previously traveled upstream while at Zenith Heaven Golden Immortal 19
  • Cannot withstand the backlash from the time node of Pangu creating heaven and earth 19
  • His time-tracing exposed him to Shichen, master of the River of Time 19

Method of Slashing the Three Corpses

Although he had comprehended the Law of Innate Foresight, Fuxi chose the Three Corpses path out of concern that Nuwa could otherwise be controlled 58.

  • Slashed his Evil Corpse using the Innate Bagua Formation Diagram 58
  • Reached the Three-Corpse Quasi-Sage realm through merit and fortune from the creation of the Human Race 86
  • Chose this method despite believing that proving the Dao through laws would offer a deeper foundation 58

Equipment / Weapons / Items

  • Innate Bagua — A Fate-bestowed diagram connected to prophetic foresight; used for defense and corpse slashing 38 49 58.
  • Hongmeng Purple Qi — Received from Hongjun after becoming his personal disciple 60.
  • Nine top-grade innate spiritual treasures — Obtained from Taiyi as payment for Nuwa's participation in the heavenly wedding 75.

Relationships

  • Nuwa — Younger sister and closest priority; Fuxi is determined to protect her freedom and alter the fate that would bind her to merit-bestowed Sagehood 34 58 59.
  • Hongjun — Master after accepting Fuxi and Nuwa as personal disciples; Fuxi confessed his transmigrator identity and asked Hongjun to help secure Nuwa's future 58 60.
  • Shichen / Heavenly Dao Shichen — Stopped Fuxi's dangerous time tracing, advised him to seek Hongjun, and later arranged for Nuwa's Sage destiny to be transferred to Fuxi 19 59.
  • Fate Demon God — Initially grants Fuxi the Innate Bagua and prophetic fate while threatening him with suppression; later alters his destiny so that Nuwa's Sage position becomes his 38 59.
  • Di Jun — Fellow transmigrator; both separately confess their origins to Hongjun. Fuxi later acknowledges Di Jun's skill in building the Heavenly Court 58 105.
  • Taiyi — A hostile negotiator who sought Nuwa's involvement in his heavenly wedding; Fuxi secured nine top-grade innate spiritual treasures from him 75.

Trivia

  • Fuxi's former-life knowledge of Primordial lore repeatedly proves unreliable because the Three Thousand Chaos Demon Gods, Pangu, and other supposedly dead figures are still alive 19 48 57.
  • He initially distrusts the Six Sage positions, viewing merit-bestowed Sagehood as a possible means of control 49 58.
  • His negotiated payment from Taiyi fell one treasure short of his stated demand of ten top-grade innate spiritual treasures and an Innate Supreme Treasure 75.
