Background / History

Akainu is a Marine Admiral known for his uncompromising interpretation of “absolute justice.” After Swain killed two Celestial Dragons at the Sabaody Archipelago, Fleet Admiral Sengoku ordered Akainu to abandon his current mission and capture him. Akainu initially objected because he was still pursuing pirates, but returned immediately after learning that Celestial Dragons had been killed 36 37.

Akainu arrived at Sabaody with twenty warships and seven Vice Admirals, ordering the Marines to capture every pirate on the island without mercy 38. He identified the Neptune as the ship connected to the incident and moved toward its coating site, prompting Swain to intercept him to protect his crew 38.

Personality
