Chapters 151–175 Vol. 2 Read

Ch. 151Greed Island [End]

After Gon and the others won, they healed the injured and persuaded Grenu to give them his cards. As Greed Island ended, Gon reminded Cordis that his crooked hand could be healed, while an author’s note previewed Cordis visiting Uvogin’s grave before the next arc.

  • Gon’s wounds and severed hand healed, and Cordis praised him and Killua for their strength.
  • Biscuit’s [Clone] card shattered after [Breath of Angels] reached its maximum transformation limit, and Killua suspected Grenu had increased the number of exchange tickets.
  • Grenu refused to trade because he hated the injured men, but Cordis challenged his reasoning and Gon insisted they had agreed to heal anyone who was hurt.
  • Shab woke and asked Gon to use their last [Breath of Angels] on Genthru, whose wounds were then healed.
  • Grenu revealed that he and his group had quit the game and offered their cards and share of the four-billion-JN reward; he used [Breath of Angels] to heal Killua’s hands.
  • Gon pointed out Cordis’s crooked right hand, and Cordis realized he had forgotten it was still deformed.

Ch. 152Punishment~

After Gon and his friends collected ninety-nine cards, they competed in a quiz for card Zero, and Cordis won with the highest score. He handed the prize card to Gon, then punished Gon and Killua by kissing them on the cheek.

  • Cordis's injured arm healed completely, and Gon urged him not to get hurt again.
  • A game announcement summoned the players to a card quiz, where the winner would receive card Zero, and a red-haired man offered to buy it for 2.5 billion JN.
  • Gon suggested that they answer individually, and Killua proposed that the lowest scorer receive a punishment.
  • Cordis scored ninety-eight points and won the quiz, despite having few cards.
  • An owl delivered card Zero, [Ruler's Blessing], to Cordis, who gave it to Gon to complete their collection.
  • Cordis kissed Gon and Killua on the cheek as their punishment.

Ch. 153What type did Machi like?

Hisoka secretly watched Cordis while Shalnark, Feitan, and Phinks speculated that Machi might like him. Machi caught them gossiping and sent Shalnark and Phinks to speak with the Exorcist.

  • Hisoka watched Cordis through binoculars and teased Shalnark by claiming Cordis was his.
  • Feitan told Shalnark that Cordis might be Machi's type, citing how Machi had spoken with him and asked to see his family photo.
  • Shalnark and Feitan convinced Phinks that Machi might be interested in Cordis, and Phinks reacted with disbelief.
  • Machi overheard them, scolded them for gossiping instead of helping with the Exorcist, and sent Shalnark and Phinks to talk to him.

Ch. 154Leaving

After clearing Greed Island, Cordis chose Breath of Angels as his reward and left Gon, Killua, and Biscuit to visit a deceased old friend. He reassured a saddened Killua that he would return in a few days.

  • Cordis stopped two men from confronting Gon and Killua, then used an Accompany card to take the group to Rimel.
  • Hisoka called Cordis to say they had found an Exorcist for Chrollo, but hung up before explaining what Cordis was supposed to do.
  • At the castle, Gon went inside alone while Cordis waited outside and fell asleep.
  • After the group cleared the game, Cordis chose Breath of Angels as his card instead of Blue Planet.
  • Cordis left Gon, Killua, and Biscuit after returning from the game, telling Killua he was going to visit a deceased old friend and would be back in a few days.

Ch. 155Do you care about him that much?

Cordis reunited with Chrollo and joined him on an airship heading south, where they traded jealous remarks about Hisoka. Hisoka appeared aboard, teased Cordis, and took the rose Cordis had received from Chrollo.

  • Cordis burned Feitan's note and realized he had no money for the journey south.
  • A little girl selling roses refused Cordis's excuses about being unable to pay until Chrollo bought a rose for him with a 10,000-yen banknote.
  • Chrollo told Cordis that he had regained his Nen Ability but lost the abilities he had collected, and planned to travel south to gather more.
  • Cordis said he was heading south to see Uvogin and followed Chrollo onto an airship bound for a nearby city.
  • Chrollo questioned whether Cordis cared about Hisoka, then admitted he cared enough to want to kill him.
  • Hisoka surprised Cordis aboard the airship, told Chrollo he cared about him, and took the rose from Cordis before teasing him.

Ch. 156The Bafumu Mission

Hisoka followed Chrollo and Cordis to Bafumu, where Chrollo explained their plan to approach Alice, the daughter of a wealthy gold supplier. He assigned Cordis to use a bow-tie voice changer to help persuade her to stay, leaving Cordis baffled by the plan.

  • Hisoka admitted he had followed Chrollo and Cordis, then teased Cordis during the airship journey.
  • Chrollo and Cordis arrived in Bafumu with Hisoka and went to the city's information board.
  • Chrollo told Cordis that Alice would try to elope with her lover, whom Chrollo had already killed.
  • Chrollo gave Cordis a bow-tie voice changer and told him to use it while they persuaded Alice to stay.
  • Cordis protested that the plan sounded like Conan, but Chrollo did not know who Conan was.

Ch. 157The ten-million-JN job

Cordis learned that Chrollo had arranged a ten-million-JN job for him: stealing Alice’s diamond necklace during her birthday party. He found the necklace through a window and struggled to resist its appeal.

  • Cordis decided to stay with Chrollo rather than risk running away, then went to an inn to sleep.
  • Chrollo called and told Cordis to steal Alice’s necklace, offering him seventy percent of the ten-million-JN fee.
  • Cordis hurried to Alice’s mansion, disguised his silver hair with a black scarf, and surveyed the Nen-user guards.
  • Cordis spotted Alice waiting for a reply from Philip, then continued climbing the mansion wall.
  • Cordis found the necklace displayed in a glass case while two people were on the bed nearby, and he struggled with his desire for the jewels.

Ch. 158Seducing People Again, Pai Pai

Cordis stole Alice’s necklace from its glass case and learned that a red-haired man held the key. After paying for information, Cordis disguised himself as a room-service attendant and headed toward the man’s room with the necklace hidden on a trolley.

  • Cordis failed to maintain [Zetsu] and was discovered by a man in bed, who mistook him for paparazzi.
  • Cordis demanded money, then learned the necklace was a birthday present for Alice and that a strong red-haired man held the case’s key.
  • The man paid Cordis eight million to spend a week with him, and Cordis used a tender gaze to get the red-haired man’s location.
  • Cordis killed a room-service attendant, hid the body, took the uniform, and concealed the glass case on the trolley.

Ch. 159Did He Pass Out?

Cordis tricked Hisoka into revealing where he kept the key, took it to steal the necklace, and left him a note and two million. After Cordis left, the mansion lost power, and the young lady was reported missing.

  • Cordis ran into Hisoka and a Purple-Haired Woman, then followed Hisoka into his room and offered two million for the key.
  • Hisoka proposed giving Cordis the key in exchange for something he wanted, and Cordis kissed him before secretly injecting him with a needle.
  • Cordis searched the unconscious Hisoka, took the key, dressed him, and left a note and the bank card beside him.
  • Cordis used the key to retrieve the necklace from its glass case and left the room.
  • Hisoka revealed he had been pretending to pass out, read Cordis's note, and kept it.
  • The mansion lost power, and the crowd downstairs learned that the young lady was missing.

Ch. 160Master of Deception

Cordis escaped with Alice's necklace and delivered it to Chrollo, who secured the hundred million JN payment and gave Cordis his cut. The next day, Chrollo brought Cordis shopping with Alice and used her rude treatment of Cordis to make her believe he cared deeply for her.

  • Cordis fled the guards with the necklace and reached the docks, where he handed it to Chrollo.
  • Chrollo collected the hundred million JN from the buyer and gave Cordis ten million for the job.
  • Chrollo told Cordis he had won Alice over by claiming Philip had sent him and showing her a ring engraved with her nickname, “Little Piggy.”
  • The next day, Cordis waited at a luxury mall while Chrollo arrived with Alice and apologized for being late.
  • Alice insulted Cordis, and Chrollo defended him while telling Alice he would rather abandon his friend than give up on her.
  • Alice was moved to tears and declared that Chrollo truly cared about her.

Ch. 161The Truth Came to Light

Cordis learned that the necklace he helped steal was worth billions and realized Chrollo had underpaid him, so he stormed off after sending Chrollo an angry message. Chrollo discovered Cordis was gone and left the city alone after Hisoka delivered a teasing, invented message.

  • Chrollo led Alice through the Shopping Mall while Cordis carried her purchases, and they stopped for lunch when Alice got hungry.
  • Hisoka sat with Cordis, ordered expensive dishes at his expense, and revealed that Alice's necklace was worth billions of JN.
  • Cordis realized Chrollo had cheated him out of a much larger commission, paid Hisoka's bill, and left on an Airship bound for Uvogin's Cemetery.
  • Chrollo emerged from the Café and asked Hisoka where Cordis had gone, and Hisoka falsely claimed Cordis planned to marry him.
  • Chrollo poured out Hisoka's wine and left the city alone.

  • The spider-man caught Cordis's orange arrow, recognized Cordis and Bokukuka as valuable prey, and dragged a black-haired man over with sticky silk before eating his head.
  • Cordis attacked the spider-man with an internal blast, but its tough shell survived the strike.
  • Shacan appeared behind Bokukuka, knocked him unconscious, and offered Cordis a trade; Cordis agreed, then punched Shacan when she began to speak.
