Background / History

Aizen enters Shino Academy at approximately eleven or twelve years old, deliberately presenting himself as its lowest-ranked student. Captain Shunsui Kyōraku offers him a place in the 8th Division, but Aizen declines. Headmaster Yamabuki Chidori sees through his suppressed Reiatsu and takes him as a private disciple, teaching him Kidō, swordsmanship, Flash Step, and Hakuda 227 228 229 237.

After awakening Kyōka Suigetsu, Aizen conceals its Complete Hypnosis behind a false description of a water-type Zanpakutō that creates clones. He tells Chidori its real ability, then uses it to enter the Forbidden Books Section. There he learns the truth about the Soul King’s imprisonment and begins pursuing the power to determine his own fate 238 239.

Aizen seeks dangerous missions to raise his Reiatsu, studies poison and medicine, and repeatedly hides his progress. He eventually takes control of Hueco Mundo from Baraggan while maintaining his standing in the Gotei 13. Over the following centuries, he builds an Arrancar force, pursues Hollowfication and other research, and works toward challenging the Soul King’s order 240 241 268 281 290 319.

Appearance

Aizen first appears as a small, scholarly boy with glasses and a gentle smile. As an adult, his mild, refined appearance helps sustain his public image; major power releases can radically change his form 227 375 388 475 477.

He is also patient and intensely cautious. Early mistakes taught him to confirm an enemy is finished; later, he prepares counters for abilities that threaten Kyōka Suigetsu and neutralizes opponents who might still pose a danger. Kyōka Suigetsu

Aizen’s Zanpakutō uses Complete Hypnosis to control the senses of anyone who has witnessed its release, including their perception of Reiatsu. He publicly presents it as a water-type ability that creates illusory clones 238 276.
