Arc 34The Holy Sword's Price

Bai Mo helped Morgan secure Camelot as the Calamities closed in and learned that forging the Holy Sword of the Planet required the Fairy of Paradise's life. He refused Morgan's offer to sacrifice herself and instead entered Cernunnos's curses, using the poisoned remains and his own body to begin forging the sword.

  • Spriggan sought aid from Aurora and Knocknarea, but Melusine seized Knocknarea and an azure light consumed the battlefield.
  • Bai Mo killed Beryl, turned his curse against him, and sealed the cursed mist before Mash accidentally crushed Beryl's head with her shield.
  • Morgan claimed the Wing Clan's Clan Bell, while Bai Mo freed Woodwose from the miniature Dawn of Salvation and learned it had drained him with magnetic-field power and magecraft.
  • Woodwose returned to Oxford as the Calamity of the Beast attacked and led surviving humans toward Camelot, while Bai Mo and Morgan traveled there to seize the throne.
  • Morgan used Water Mirror to take control of Camelot and prepared to move Britain, as Bai Mo descended into Cernunnos and discovered the god's curses threatened the Northern Hemisphere.
  • Bai Mo and Morgan attacked Cernunnos, and Bai Mo learned that Beryl had altered the god's curse to turn humans into Mors as well as fairies.
  • Merlin revealed that the Fairy of Paradise was meant to become the Holy Sword's material, but Bai Mo rejected Morgan's offer to sacrifice herself and entered Cernunnos's curses.
  • Bai Mo absorbed Cernunnos's poisonous curses, drew on Morgan's knowledge and his own forging power, then placed the Spiral Sword and Sword of Victory inside himself until a golden hilt emerged.

Ch. 831Tremendous Power

Morgan secured the fourth Clan Bell and left Muryan alive but warned, while Bai Mo freed Woodwose from the miniature Dawn of Salvation and discovered how thoroughly it had drained him. • Ritsuka struck the sleeping Woodwose with a brick, waking him, but he was so drained that he fell back to the floor.
  • Bai Mo concluded that Lun Rang had upgraded Dawn of Salvation by combining magnetic field power with magecraft, making it capable of rapidly draining even a powerful user.

Ch. 832A Heart Set on One Alone

Ch. 836Forging materials

In New Darlington, Caster and Ritsuka shared their modest dreams, while Bai Mo learned that the Fairies of Paradise were meant to sacrifice their lives and memories to forge the Holy Sword of the Planet. After Oberon warned him about Cernunnos and urged him to take Camelot, Bai Mo left to gather fruit and found an unconscious Wind Clan fairy.

  • Caster told Ritsuka that she dreamed of becoming an upper-class fairy and walking freely through the city, and Ritsuka shared her hope of opening a bakery.

  • Lancelot refused to keep serving Aurora, called her a plague, and resisted her spell with his Magic Resistance.
  • Lancelot left Aurora by a stream, but her use of his old name, Sino, made him turn around.
  • Aurora undressed and offered herself to Lancelot, who told himself to wait another hour before returning to his Master.

Ch. 841Original Sin

As Morgan prepared to transfer Britain using the Clan Bells and the former Fantasy Tree’s husk, Bai Mo descended into the Great Hollow to investigate why Cernunnos had grown enraged. He sensed a red-haired person rotting inside the god, while Cernunnos’s cries of pain continued.

  • Morgan used Water Mirror to move Chaldea’s members into position and prepared Camelot to depart with the Clan Bells.
  • Morgan gave Bai Mo a mirror pendant, and he dropped toward Cernunnos while the Holy Lances’ formation began to weaken.
  • Bai Mo recalled that the fairies’ neglect of forging the holy sword had led to Sefar destroying the planet, after which the fairies murdered Cernunnos and made his body into the first continent.
  • Bai Mo used the Myoken Divine Wheel to shield himself from curses and landed on Cernunnos’s head.
  • Bai Mo sensed Cernunnos’s inner world and saw an indistinct red-haired person whose limbs were rotting away.

Ch. 842A Bitter Lament

Boggart and Habetrot watched a vast Mors army approach Camelot as fairies turned against Morgan and Muryan searched the queen’s library for answers. Bai Mo discovered that Cernunnos’s curse had spread across nearly the entire Northern Hemisphere, leaving Chaldea uncertain whether it could be removed without catastrophic consequences.

  • Boggart admitted he had foreseen himself becoming a Mors but resolved to survive, while Habetrot urged him to stop complaining as they surveyed the approaching Calamities.
  • A mass of insects appeared above Boggart and Habetrot as other insects began corroding the Holy Lances’ barriers at the Great Hollow.
  • Fairies charged Morgan’s tower over her refusal to let them enter Pan-Human History, then rushed to the library to seek Muryan’s answers.
  • Muryan read Fairy Britain’s founding history and found a battered biography written by Tonelico.
  • Bai Mo sensed that Cernunnos’s curse had spread beyond Britain through the Northern Hemisphere, and Dr. Roman warned that removing the fantasies could wipe out that region.
  • Bai Mo contacted Cernunnos with his Magnetic Field Power, and scarlet spheres appeared around him and stared at him.

Ch. 843Resentment

Bai Mo and Morgan tried to penetrate Cernunnos's corpse and withdraw the curses spreading through Britain, with Morgan using her Holy Lance to break into his skull. Bai Mo reached Cernunnos's deepest recesses and sensed his remorse and anger, along with a curse created by Beryl.

  • Morgan concluded that Cernunnos's curses could threaten Pan-Human History and considered using the Holy Sword of the Planet to destroy them.
  • Bai Mo cut into Cernunnos's skull with Magnetic Field Heavenly Blades, but endless Curse Layers and regeneration resisted him.
  • Morgan struck Cernunnos with four blasts from her Holy Lance, opening his skull so Bai Mo could enter.
  • Bai Mo used the Blades of Hell to slow Cernunnos's regeneration and the Myoken Divine Wheel to shield himself from the curses.
  • Bai Mo reached deep inside Cernunnos and sensed remorse and anger, then recognized a curse Beryl had created in Gloucester.

Ch. 844Endless Trouble in His Wake

Kama explained that Beryl altered Cernunnos’s curse so it could infect humans, prompting the god to unleash it completely to ensure no human-affecting curse escaped. Bai Mo and Morgan sought a way to stop Cernunnos, but his muddled mind and Beryl’s death left them with few options.

  • Bai Mo asked Kama about Cernunnos’s curses, and she explained that gods protect humanity as a whole, even if they disregard individual lives.
  • Kama revealed that Beryl had modified Cernunnos’s curse, which was meant to punish fairies, so it could turn humans into Mors as well.
  • Morgan proposed sending Mash back in time to kill Beryl, but Caster warned her that time travel could cause further problems.
  • Kama said Beryl had already died after charging into Mash’s shield, and Morgan vowed to find his soul.
  • Bai Mo tried to communicate with Cernunnos, but the god’s mind was muddled after tens of thousands of years of torment.

Ch. 845A free meal

Morgan defended Camelot from the Calamity of the Beast by turning the attacking black dogs into a source of magical energy. Elsewhere, Lancelot abandoned Aurora, while Woodwose found her as he fled the battle.

  • Morgan reinforced Camelot’s barrier, then used fairies as bait to lure the black dogs into strikes from three Holy Lances that drained their energy into her tower.
  • Morgan faced the largest Calamity of the Beast and vowed to stop Britain’s destructive will from taking her kingdom.
  • Lancelot left Aurora in the forest after their encounter, and Aurora decided to make for Camelot to reach Pan-Human History.
  • Melusine fought the Mors and the Calamity of the Beast on the outskirts, mistaking a call for help as Bai Mo needing her.
  • Woodwose escaped the black dogs while protecting the Clan Bell, stopped to drink, and encountered Aurora in the water, who asked him for help.

Ch. 846Avalon

Bai Mo fought his way into Cernunnos and found a strange mass of flesh connected to its nerves. Touching it drew him into an illusion, where he encountered a white figure who asked whether he had watched Mery’s virtual streams.

  • Cernunnos’s rotting flesh and corrosive attacks failed to stop Bai Mo as he used Shura Bewildering Steps and the Blade of Hell to reach its depths.
  • Bai Mo froze Cernunnos’s flesh with Imperial Extremity Shocks the World and discovered a mangled, woman-shaped mass connected to the creature by nerves.
  • Bai Mo touched the mass, triggering a flower-filled illusion and hearing a voice warn him not to be hasty.
  • Bai Mo recognized the illusion as resembling the one Mery had used in Uruk and wondered whether Mery was present.
  • A tall white figure waved to Bai Mo and asked whether he had watched its virtual streams.

Ch. 847Forging the Holy Sword

Merlin gathered Bai Mo, Morgan, Caster, Mash, and Ritsuka inside an illusion to reveal the Fairy of Paradise’s mission to reforge the Holy Sword of the Planet. Bai Mo immediately questioned the price of the mission, leaving Merlin’s proposal uncertain.

  • Bai Mo mistook Merlin for an enemy and beheaded him, then accepted that Merlin was an ally after Merlin identified himself as Chaldea’s number one fan.
  • Merlin drew Morgan, Caster, Mash, and Ritsuka into his illusion, and Mash and Ritsuka accidentally blasted Merlin while operating the Black Dog.
  • Morgan challenged Merlin for freezing time and using a grand illusion, while Caster and Morgan criticized his reputation.
  • Merlin declared that completing the Fairy of Paradise’s mission would resolve the threat of the Calamities.
  • Merlin revealed that the mission was to reforge the Holy Sword of the Planet, and Bai Mo demanded to know its price.

Ch. 848Lose Nothing More

Merlin revealed that forging the Holy Sword of the Planet required a Fairy of Paradise’s body and memories, and Morgan proposed sacrificing herself while using her bond with Bai Mo to return as a Heroic Spirit. Bai Mo refused and entered Cernunnos’s curses, determined to save Morgan and Britain without letting her lose anything more.

  • Merlin explained that the Fairy of Paradise’s true mission was to become the material for the Holy Sword of the Planet, using her body and completed pilgrimage memories.
  • Bai Mo rejected the sacrifice and left Avalon with Morgan, who followed him into its dark passage.
  • Morgan told Bai Mo that she and Caster could provide the body and memories needed to forge the sword, then asked him to marry her so their bond could let him summon her again.
  • Bai Mo refused Morgan’s plan, saying he had come to stop her from losing anything more, and entered Cernunnos’s curses to save her and Britain.
  • Merlin watched Morgan’s reaction, then left the garden and led everyone out of Avalon toward the outside world.

Ch. 849Fortune and misfortune intertwined

Bai Mo tried to reclaim Cernunnos by absorbing its accumulated curses, but discovered a lethal foreign poison mixed in with them. As his body began to rot, he asked Morgan and the others for information about the holy sword, leaving Morgan to prepare to rescue him if his plan failed.

  • Bai Mo used Merlin's illusion to approach Cernunnos and began drawing its body back through magnetic field power.
  • Bai Mo sent the Myoken Divine Wheel away to protect the others, then absorbed the curses flooding around him to speed up the process.
  • Bai Mo recognized that the curses contained an unexpected poison that was causing severe pain and bleeding.
  • Morgan tried to bring Bai Mo back, but he stopped her and asked her and Ritsuka's allies to provide information about the holy sword.
  • Morgan sent Bai Mo everything she knew and prepared a protective barrier, vowing not to let him die.

Ch. 850Forged

Bai Mo gathered the lethal poison within Cernunnos's remains and used Magnetic Field Rotation to begin forging the Holy Sword of the Planet through his own body. After Merlin sent him word that he needed a prototype, Bai Mo combined the Spiral Sword with the Sword of Victory, leaving a golden hilt emerging from his body.

  • Bai Mo guessed that the original fairies had brought the Holy Sword's materials into the outside world and that the poisoned wine might have been made from them.
  • Bai Mo drew the lethal poison from Cernunnos's remains into his body and used Ryougi Lataib to contain it.
  • Bai Mo unleashed 950,000-horsepower Magnetic Field Rotation, then searched Mad Giant Shark for traces of how Giant Shark had forged it with his body.
  • Morgan lost track of Bai Mo, but Merlin stopped her from transferring him and said he had succeeded; Merlin then sent him a message with a raven made of Runes.
  • Bai Mo put the Spiral Sword into his body, then added the Sword of Victory when the Spiral Sword fragments could not fuse, and a golden hilt emerged from him.
